I can’t get enough Shangri-La. We try to come as often as we can and our favorites are for sure the street tacos and Dulse sandwich. Their soups are teas are excellent as well. Love Toni and the entire team here.

My friend and I visited here for tea and lunch. What a great little gem. Vegetarian and Vegans rejoice. Since I am Vegetarian I can not comment on no vegetarian items or if they offered any. They had me at the specials board when I walked in. The service was fantastic and I am sure they pack them in during the week for lunch. We went just after lunch rush maybe 2pm on a Friday. The server was knowledgeable about the tea options and made sure our pot stayed fresh and full. Great! I would return again. I actually wanted too but they are closed on Sunday’s. Oh well. I”all be back on a different day for sure.

Food was great, service was great. I really wish they would open another café close to Meridian since I would love to come here at least once a week, but its very far. I brought my meat eating mom here and she loved the food(meat no where to be found). I thought everything was fantastic about this place, it has its own style and feels homey and not franchised. There was only one table in the joint left after we were there for about 20 minutes. The vibe was comfortable and made me relaxed. I went there, not in a hurry and yes it has a hippie vibe but if you don’t understand that its a bit laid back and relaxed it might not be the place for you. Come here ready to be wowed by the experience and be relaxed and not in a hurry, to me its just not that kind of place. I did not try the teas but had the ginger lemonade which was fantastic. I had the street tacos and mom had the falafel. Both were simply amazing. We took a DLT home for later and that was amazing as well. I had the protein chocolate pudding and it was lovely, mom had the tea cake and said next time she would try the green tea ice cream. I would recommend this place many times over and have told many people about it. There service is not slow but its not what your are going to get at some cookie cutter restaurant. Walk in take a deep breath and enjoy. This is a place to enjoy friends, food and forget about time and schedules for a little bit.

So delicious. i have been dizzy and meat just sounds aweful. i got the falaful sandwich. So so good. i normally don’t like spinach at all, i’m really enjoying it in this sandwich. they have other things in the shop as well. i was able to get some candied ginger there which is helping quite a bit with the dizziness.

Awesome! This is a favorite pitstop when I come to Boise to visit family — the best vegan cheesecake I’ve ever had. Wow! I live in Southern California, so I’m a little spoiled when it comes to vegetarian/vegan dining, but this rivals the restaurants at home.

Really nice Vegetarian café. Freshly prepared food. We were visiting Boise for the weekend and had our lunch here. Simple and Soul food preparations.

Went here for lunch and loved it! Such a cozy place with a large menu. Shared the Falafel sandwich and Caprese pizza and both were delicious. I will be going back very soon!

Apparently you’re not a real guest at this establishment if you’re the significant other of someone that is playing music here. I was ignored for nearly a hall an hour while they weren’t waiting on anyone else. Two tables got seated after I arrived and they were both helped before me several times. They finally brought me a water after they had served everyone else drinks and food and I was never even given a menu. I guess I’ll skip dinner tonight. I won’t be back.

Best food in Boise, they serve food made with love. I think this is the best place in Boise. If you are a vegetarian or vegan, this is the only place in the whole of Boise ID

After this experience, and the experiences that follow, I can’t look at food the same way! Normally what is out there for the public to eat never brings about a sense of well-being, even enlightenment afterwards. The area is very pleasant as well, which adds a wholesome feel(: Five Stars!!!

It has the potential for being something great but lacks on all fronts, at least that is my review of my first visit. Atmosphere is cramped, teas are bland, service is slow and hippy-pretentious, patio is noisy sitting right next to Federal Way, cheesecake(wild Berrie Rose) not good at all… Perhaps my second visit will be better. From reading other reviews the stars are in the food. I will do more eating next time but when it comes to tea and atmosphere there are a number of better teahouses in town.

AMAZINGVEGANOPTIONS! Best in Boise! Friday & Saturdays their vegan tacos are unbelievable… their veggie burger is hands down the best one I’ve ever had. The service is a tad slow but it is all worth it. If you have enough room in your tummy after your meal I highly suggest getting one of their desserts(raw cheesecake is out of this world) !

I’m a vegetarian and recently moved to Boise. Today I went to Shangri-La Tea and Vegetarian Café for lunch. I had chilled Thai Coconut soup, ½ Southwestern salad, and a $ 4.50 glass of lemonade with ginger. I didn’t taste the ginger, no refills, and definitely not worth the money. Soup was ok and salad was good. $ 20 + tip is too much to pay for what I got. I was still hungry and stopped on the way home and bought a delicious cup of soup from a local grocery. This was my first visit and I will give it another shot. I would like to try the veggie burger, mock tuna sandwich and some of the other soups. Next time, I will plan to go when they have entertainment.

Excellent food! As a vegan and a nationwide traveler, I’m always on a quest to find tasty and purely vegan food. This place does not disappoint. I’ve been here 5 days on business travel and have ate here everyday. Friendly staff as well. Highly recommend

Had the hummus and a veggie burger. Hummus was good, but the veggie burger was so-so. Boba(bubble) tea was over priced and very watery. Not anything like the kind you get from authentic Korean tea houses.

Mystical and harmonious like the Chinese town Shangri-La, this spot offers an assortment of vegetarian and vegan foods that hypnotize your taste buds and make you want to be vegan, while the tea will make you question why you drink coffee. My favorite is the falafel sandwich composed of thin bread, falafel patties, spring mix, tomatoes, cucumber(I think), and tzatziki sauce. The tzatziki is what makes the sandwich delicious, it pairs well with the falafel and brings flavor to the whole meal. I have had their tomato basil soup a few times and it wasn’t always the same, once it was soup and another it was like… Pasta/pizza sauce, but tasteful indeed. I’ve had good experiences with a few of tea arrangements, but can’t remember which ones(ah, a reason to come again). The nice thing about the tea is that it’s a drink that keeps on giving. The only thing that grinds my gears is that their prices can be pretty hefty. Their green tea ice cream is delicious, but too expensive, a trip to the Asian store saves you about $ 3. They have a wonderfully tasting ginger lemonade with a hint of paprika, for about $ 5! I’ll stick to tea. Nonetheless, its a must try spot. Warning: this place has hippie(not hipster) vibes :)

What a vibrant and wonderful atmosphere. We went for Valentine’s Day and I had the curried tomato soup, house tacos and they were delightful. The dessert was absolutely heavenly, it was a vegan cheesecake with cashew base and a maple glaze topping that made me(for a brief moment) consider giving up meat altogether. The wait-staff was very friendly and attentive and answered all of our questions about the menus and specials and refilled our tea quickly.

I had a vegan friend in town with whom I was to be lunching and thought, what better time to try Shangri-La? I’m so glad I did. She was absolutely delighted with the many choices for her on the menu. We enjoyed a pot of their Lemon Immunities herbal tea(light and lovely). I ordered the caprese pizza – mozz, fresh tomatoes, fresh basil, and a gorgeous drizzle of balsamic reduction. It was eat-every-last-crumb-delicious. Our server was attentive, prompt, and friendly. There’s a little gift shop as you enter where they sell tea, tea pots, and various new agey gift shop items. The vibe of the place is groovy. Quite specifically that: groovy. Get to it!

This is a hidden gem just off the beaten path. I’m not a vegetarian & I flipping loved it. I had the southwest salad(major yum) & my dinner date had the Asian salad. Neither of us left a crumb behind. The service was great & the food memorable. Had hot tea with our desserts. If you have the opportunity to go here just do it!

I come here so often that I can’t believe I have not written a review yet. My favorites are the veggie burger with avocado, the mock tuna sandwich and the Kale Caesar salad. The teas are very good… I love the white and green teas and the llamas journey. The cheesecake although pricey is totally worth it and so delicious. The green tea ice cream is awesome and has delicious berries on it. The blackberry bubble tea with Chi tea and soy milk was wonderful. I will take more pictures next time but a great a place to bring vegetarians and vegans. You don’t walk out with that sick over stuffed feeling like you do with other restaurants. Toni is also the nicest owner with great recommendations.
