This place is amazing. Be sure to try their fatoosh, eggplant and kebabs. The owner takes a lot of pride in his place and the food. The seating is incredible and comfortable. Great prices to top off an already perfect experience

I’ve eaten here several times, and I get to the point that I crave their food. I’ve read several other reviews stating that the prices seem high, but the servings are enough for two people to eat their fill and leave with leftovers. Their cooks expertly ballance spices to create unique and authentic flavor combinations rarely found in Boise. Their flatbread is not only a vehicle for transporting food to your mouth, but a culinary experience in an of itself. Definitely order two orders of the flatbread. I cannot replicate it at home and you’ll definitely want it for the leftovers! My personal favorites are the shish taoush, fethoush, tebouleh salad, and saffron rice.

Decided on lunch here as I’ve been curious about all the interesting food options that have cropped up in this lovely little marketplace. We ordered the foul, fatoush, chicken biryani, bread and the Iraqi pickles to share between my husband, a friend and myself. We sat ourselves in their traditional seating area which I loved, especially dining with a 17 month old –the seating was quite comfortable and didn’t necessitate the use of a high chair, which my son hates. Now, while the food is admittedly delicious and authentic(according to said friend who’s spent a good amount of time in this part of the world), I found it to be a bit spendy for what you get. While there was lots of chicken in the biryani, $ 13-$ 14 for a lunch entrée really hits my personal threshold for wanting a more well rounded dining experience, table service, drinks, more polished dishes, something. I don’t necessarily think the portions need to be larger(the foul, fatoush and bread were perfect for sharing between the three of us), but it just felt… pricey.

The food and service are excellent! We’ve gone twice and both times the restaurant did not disappoint. Falafel is outstanding as is the chicken shawarmas. I also enjoy watching the cooking/prep work. Everything that goes out to the tables look fantastic. Our goal is to try every dish on the menu! Oh, and amazing pita bread. Overall, the price is really reasonable(I would say rather cheap) for the quality of the food. Highly recommended.

Wow! I’m so impressed by The Goodness Land! Visited for lunch with my mom and Fiancé, we started with baba ghanoush and flat bread. It had a nice smoky flavor and creamy, smooth texture. Truly some of the best I have had. My mom ordered a sampler platter with chicken kabob, lamb kabob, falafel, salad, fries and this heavenly saffron rice. My fiancé and I both had lamb shawarma which also included fries, salad and said delicious rice. Aside from the food, the people working were very friendly and provided us with very quick service although they were busy. There is a lovely seating area adjacent to where you place your order. It is well decorated in a traditional Middle Eastern style with Turkish carpets, red tapestry floor pillows to sit on and low tables for your food. My fiancé commented that the food was so good that he felt high upon taking the first bite & it put him in a better mood for the remainder of the day! Overall, it was a fun and unique experience which I highly recommend to anyone who loves great food.

Food is very good. Falafel is the best I’ve had in Boise, everything well seasoned and the naan type bread was amazing. I’ll definitely go back!

I’ve only been there once and I had a mixed experience. We loved the traditional seating area. We also thought the baba ghanouj and the tabouli were excellent. We did not like our chicken shawarmas. They were more like pita wraps and had a very unusual sauce on them that tasted mayo based. The tab seemed high and I realized later that we got charged for chicken shawarma platters instead of the cheaper sandwiches, which is what we had. That was a little annoying. I think the owner was just busy with a rush of customers and it was an honest mistake. We will give this place another try. Another suggestion is to order Arabic tea from the lovely tea and coffee place around the corner(Khave’s.) They will bring it to you in the Goodness Land seating area and you can enjoy your tea and food together!
