The staff makes you feel like Norm in Cheers and they are very courteous. It’s clean and they are quick to bus tables. The food is very good bar food. Best nachos is town! My wife and I are going to make them our local Pub. Back again! Came back and again a great experience. Very friendly and great food. Back again a few days later. This is our pub. The staff is consistently cheerful and make you feel like they can’t wait fir you to come back. Today, the wife had a very nice looking salad and my sin and I the best nachos ever Back again. Love this place

Although this location isn’t in my neighborhood, I made the drive to check it out. Definitely glad I did! Even though it was pretty crowded, service was fast and friendly. They have a great patio to take advantage of the sun shining. Not sure I’d like to hang out inside as it was pretty cramped and noisy. Their beer selection wasn’t the best, but it’s hard to find anything non-IPA when the weather warms up. My date and I both ended up with Mac & Jack’s as the 90 Shilling keg just happened to blow at the most inopportune time. Can’t complain about a tasty African Amber, though. For food, I ordered The Timber, which included turkey, corned beef, bacon, avocado, spinach, tomato, onion, cheese, and mayo. It typically comes on bread, but I asked for a wrap, and it was amazing! The flour tortilla was lightly toasted, and the flavors melded beautifully on the inside. My date ordered the Club Dip, which included turkey, ham, swiss, and bacon on a hoagie with aus jus and horseradish on the side. He loved it. I had one bite and had to agree. The horseradish had just the right amount of intensity to clear out my nasal passages, lol. We both had chips and salsa on the side. The chips were tasty, but the salsa was a miss. Overall, a great spot to grab a bite to eat and a cold brew while hanging on the patio.

I am relocating here from Texas and I came up for a weekend scouting trip of the area. I wanted to cap off the first night with a cold beer and appetizers from a local hang out. I must say that made a great choice coming here. It got really windy and cold so everyone was packed inside and we got here about 15 minutes before kitchen closed but it made no difference. The waitress/bartender was super nice and took great care of us with both food and drink. The atmosphere was really laid back casual and the crowd seemed to be regulars. I will for sure keep coming back when my move is complete. Thanks for the hospitality.

This is a great little pub. The food is good, the pizza is really good! They have a great selection of craft beers, regular beers and some wine. Very nice wait staff and the service is good. The only problem with Twisted Timber is that it is too small to fit all of it’s fans. There are very long tables and it is common practice to ask if you can share a table with someone.

Don’t get the chips for a side. Literally opened a bag of regular Lays and put them on a plate. Why don’t you offer fries as a p. — there specialty sandwich«The Timber» is also and average at best. Could go to Albertsons deli and get the same sandwich. — buddy next to me for a Quesedilla that looked great. Good prices. Good service.

I went for a quick dinner. If you are looking for a beer. This place is five stars. If you want food, I would look elsewhere. The place is clean and our server was nice, but I probably would not return.

This place satisfied my needs as a soup N sandwich kind of gal. I would rather have real French fries to eat with a sandwich since I wasn’t interested in the soup of the day,(they give you chips) but still enjoyed my meal. I liked the atmosphere, it had shuffle board, large tables and weirdly enough ill comment on the purse hooks they had underneath the table. I liked that. We went in the middle of the day so it was very quiet, Id like to go back in the evening to try the drinking crowd and a football game + shuffle board.

There are some places I’ve been visiting for so long that I just forget to Unilocal about them. When I saw another Unilocaler’s post about the Timber, as we lovingly refer to it, I checked to reread mine only to find out it doesn’t exist, so here goes: The Timber rocks. It’s like a neighborhood spot. When we lived near Maple Grove and Lake Hazel, it was just a hop, skip and a jump away, so we were the regulars and got to know some of the servers by name. To this day, it still tickles me when we come in(after months of absence) and are recognized by their friendly wait staff. Great, great people work here and share their love, knowledge and passion for beer with their guests. I should mention, or maybe I shouldn’t, that they never turn me down when I ask for excessive tastes. I’m sorry, but I love variety and I love trying new beers. So I always know that I will wind up with something I like, instead of being forced into picking a beer that I’m uncertain about. Their tap selection is seriously killer. I love Bier: Thirty and a couple of other tap-houses in the area, but find most of them to be kind of stout /porter /black IPA heavy(even in the summer, when you couldn’t pay me to drink something dark). Maybe one of the reasons I love the Timber so much is because they cater to my tastes a little more, which means more pale ales, IPAs, blondes and lagers /pilseners. However, they certainly have maltier, darker things available(just not in the abundance that other places might; sorry, Ophelia!), such as Mack and Jack’s African Amber(it’s almost always there) and a rotating stout /porter. Whoever selects their beer has amazing taste, usually featuring something out-of-this world(think Rogue’s Dead Guy [even Double Dead Guy, on one occasion], Stone’s Arrogant Bastard, Odell’s Myrcenary, etc.). They also have amazing tap takovers by my favorite brewers in the world, such as Lagunitas, Deschutes and Hop Valley(my latest obsession). I think if one area could improve, it could be the food; however, I haven’t tried enough to really comment on this. Their baked, seasoned fries are incredible and we almost always order them. Their Timber sandwich(corned beef, turkey, bacon, the fixin’s) is great, but their spicy ham sandwich and Rueben are a little lacking. Their house salad, as well as the mixed greens that come as a side with sandwiches, are really great and better than you would expect for a place like this. I think their pizza is just okay. I’ve heard great things about their nachos from multiple parties, but have never tried them myself. You could seriously do worse in the food department, it just doesn’t satisfy as well as some other places. However, the tap selection is enough to bring my back every time(and make the drive now that we live further North). The ambiance is, as another Unilocaler described, somewhere between a cozy sports bar(there are a few screens; free shuffle board; darts and pool) and a neighborhood restaurant. It’s definitely a locals spot, but I never feel like an outsider(which I actually do at some breweries). Their patio is expansive, well-shaded when you need it and a great place to drink in the summertime. This review has gone on long enough, so I’ll try to quit spouting praise for this establishment, but suffice it to say that it’s one of our favorite watering holes and we’ll continue to make the drive as long as this place is around. Three cheers for the Timber!

This is a great clean neighborhood sports bar. They have a great on tap selection that changes regularly. Both times I have been here they have had everything from a porter to a IPA. The first time I went I told the server I wanted to give the Souless Ginger a try. To my suprise she brought me a sample. She apperantly knew my taste better than I did, I went with the porter. My friend suggested we share some Queso fries, I ordered them the next time I came back. I’m not sure how to describe them other than an amazing pile of hot deep fried seasoned fries smothered in some sort of queso style nacho sauce. I was so ashamed of myself as I wiped the last of the cheese sauce from my mouth. I can’t wait for the next Broncos game… TV’S abound they are on every wall in the place. Not all of the seats have a great view of the TV but the arrangement works well enough. I didn’t go around the corner but I heard they have a pool table and a shuffle board in the back. This is a great clean sports bar crossed with a nice family friendly neighborhood resturant.

I’m in complete accord with Chris H on this one. Not a 2 star experience, but not quite a 4. So, bring on 3 a-ok stars! Came to meet friends for a beer and ended up staying for dinner. The beer offerings were solid, though there was nothing I was overly excited about. I ended up ordering the 8 Ball Stout, which is an oatmeal stout made in Eureka, Ca at Lost Coast Brewery. It’s a decent stout – not my favorite but definitely not bad. For dinner, my dining companion and I decided share an order of their chicken nachos and their BBQ chicken quesadilla. The quesadilla was delish though I wasn’t as big a fan of their nachos. The real appeal of this place is the atmosphere. It is definitely a friendly neighborhood type joint. It has a great casual pub vibe. If I lived in the ‘hood, I would definitely head here for a regular post-work beer and hang sesh. The service was fast, friendly, and efficient. We were in a large group(there were roughly 12 of us, I think) and she got all of our orders and checks spot on perfect. Oh! And, they have darts and pool for those interested in bar games! A-ok!

Great food great service, fun atmosphere. We really like having something on the south end of the valley. Eagle road is a mess for us to get across town. Twisted Timber is just a few blocks from our house, we like to bike over there.

Never ever order a Rueben here. I have no idea what kind of animal the«corned beef» came from but it was not a cow. Seriously the worst Rueben I’ve ever had. Because my kid likes it there, went back. Sat outside and had pizza. It was passable. Let’s put it this way, the beer is better than their food. I wont return.

For a local watering hole it’s not bad. Decent rotation of local beer, and good food. Is it the best in Boise? Not even close. Is it the best place in 83709 zip code? Probably. I recommend the dry rub wings as well as the other wings. Dry rub are the best in my opinion though.

I love their Rueben sandwich although I substitute turkey for the corn beef, being a non-red meat eater. The bread is the rye/white swirled type. They don’t skimp on anything in the sandwich. Not a fan of the Mac salad but the regular serving of plain lettuce with dressing or pub chips(potato chips) are ok. Too bad they don’t offer some soup, fries or a decent side salad with this or I’d go more often. They don’t have a fryer so French fries are not an option. My husband likes their turkey sandwich which is also served with an ample amount of turkey. It’s very noisy having no booths or separation of space in the place. The concrete floors don’t help. But it’s a lively atmosphere and usually busy if that’s your kind of place. We get ours to go.

Great little local pub! Friendly staff, very good sandwiches and daily soup(didn’t try the apps or pizza, but I bet they don’t disappoint). Very nice beer tap selection that’s not huge, but has a unique variety. Shuffleboard! Pool and darts(electronic) add a little entertainment if the TVs don’t have the sports playing.

It’s a great local pub in SW Boise. I enjoy stopping by for a beer every once in a while. They have a great beer selection and their menu is not bad. Nothing fancy but definitely not bad! I love that they have a pool table and shuffleboard. The place tends to get crowded and sometimes it’s hard to find a table but that’s not a bad problem to have. I like going there in the summertime when they have the outdoor tables. They had a band play before in the parking lot and I hope they do it again this summer. Service has always been great. I would give them 5 stars if the place was a little bigger.

This is a local pub. It’s ok. Staff seems friendly. I will tell you it’s fun to meet your buddies and have a beers play darts, pool, and shuffleboard.. Yes I said shuffleboard! I think that’s pretty good. Where else’s can you go to play that? They offer all kinds of coffee options if beer is not your thing. Had some food a couple times and just fair. Over all nice clean place to meet for a drink. Not a 2 star place because they are trying hard. But not quite a 4 star place. But I will go back if in the area.

Best local pub & grill in the Treasure Valley. Hands down! Absolutely love this place: 1. Outstanding staff. Amy, Jacqueline, Emily, April, Clint, Jill, etc. are just freakin’ awesome. Smiles and hugs when you walk in the door. 2. Great beers. Always rotating through something new. Samples of anything you want to try. Whiteboard for buying a friend a beer :) 3. Food is great, especially for a small place: try the BBQ chicken pizza or the nachos. Awesome. 4. Good people for sure. Not a depressing bar scene! More like a neighborhood«Cheers»(when Paully walks in it’s like Norm is there in person haha!) 5. Live music from time to time in the summer. Love you guys! — Sam and Christina
