I don’t even know where to start. I’ve had better Tex-Mex at plenty of other places, but that wasn’t the problem. The bartender, Javier, was just very distant and had an attitude that made me wonder if he thought I was someone else that he didn’t like. From the moment I walked in he gave me this negative look as though I was disturbing his conversation with a single woman at the bar. He was actually sitting in the chair next to her. So when I chose to sit at the other end of the bar he slid my menu down to me and then walked behind the bar to take my drink order. I knew this wasn’t going to be a good idea, but after driving from Dallas at 4AM and working all day, I was hungry. I asked him about the Unilocal Check in for a free 10oz domestic, he scoffed and gave me a beer of his choosing and walked off. He returned several minutes later and asked if was going to order. I got the trio tacos: 2 Carnitas(dry and bland) and 1 carne asada(cold and appeared to have been made earlier in the day). Javier continued his conversation with the woman at the bar and after 15min my food came out and I ate it, without utensils. No big deal about the utensils except he left for the entirety of my meal and when I would put avocado on my tacos, my hands would get messy and if have to wipe them on the chip paper from the bowl or the napkin my beer was sitting on. I later realized that he had been sitting behind me at a high table the entire time as he would great customers from his seat before seating them in the restaurant. All-in-all. Horrible service. Sub-par food. I now understand why they have a free beer campaign and why it was empty on a Friday afternoon.

Coming from Oklahoma City/Tulsa We moved to Bossier 7 years ago and haven’t found a Mexican restaurant we really liked UNTIL we found this place! It’s now our go-2 for Mexican. Awesome tortillas, fajitas, enchiladas, white queso’s… Just good all around!

Quick service, great happy hour special on a Saturday(2 for 1 margs and draft beer), reasonable price, and warm chips with fresh salsa. We got fajitas – large portion and good, but nothing special. Oh, and a nice big patio.

Pretty great! Chips were fresh, salsa a little on the spicy side, just the way I like it. Had the puffy taco and the meat on it was seasoned perfectly. Husband had the fajitas, and the grilled tomatoes were perfect(he ate all the meat before I could get a chance to try it so it must be delicious) The nachos are individually made instead of being a heap of slip. Mother-in-law said they were delicious.

Soooooo tasty! The meat has a southern spicy flair. One of my favorite restaurants in Shreveport, and the best fajitas my husband and I have had in the past three years of our U.S. travels. Good job! We’ll be back!

Ordered Fajitas, they brought them out and they were so overcooked they were burned. I asked them to remake they brought them out still bloody. The manager then said oh just finish cooking them on the plate. UH no that’s your job. horrible waitstaff and cooks never again!

After reading reviews we decided to try it. Service was excellent and food was awesome. We ordered 4 different entrees: fajitas, tacos, chicken, and everyone loved theirs. I would recommend the filet minon fajitas. Delicious! I’m for sure going back.

Found on Unilocal,7-minutes for the cheese sauce, 15-minutes for the entrees. My brother had the salmon on sautéed spinach. Kiel is the man to ask for. Bringing the fam next time… Friday night busy, busy and still got great service, food was perfect… come on NOW!

Boy did Unilocalers blow this one. I have ZERO clue how some people have this place 4&5 stars. If you eat here then just remember that you were warned. I’m being very lenient by giving 2 stars. The server«Pablo» was great. I’m going to be completely constructive. The fajita beef meat needs to be changed. The cut being used is extremely tough. If you are going to use skirt or whatever it is they are using please marinate and tenderize it. It’s aggravating that when you take a bite of the fajita that the entire piece of meat comes out of the tortilla. Don’t put the food on a cold hot plate. All you end up with is a meat and onion soup. The guacamole was brown. This is a sign that it was made very early then put on a plate, put in the walkin or fridge and grabbed when the order was placed for fajitas. Bland beans, bland rice. Salsa from a jar. I’m sad that I had to floss my teeth to get this tough meat out and taste this horrible meal twice. The only thing authentic about this place is the interior. It looks just like a Mexican Flea Market and that not a good thing.

First time here. I was greeted at the door with a smile and open door, good start, but wasn’t too crazy about sitting next to the kitchen entrance, place wasn’t THAT crowded. However, the service was prompt, friendly, and helpful. I ordered the fajitas for one, all beef, will mix it up next time just to try it all. I also ordered the jalapeño jack cheese, bacon, and shrooms as well as the grilled shrimp on top. This was the, or supposed to be, dinner portion fajita serving, $ 13.99 as opposed to $ 10.99– lunch. Well… I guess I am used to Houston restaurants portions… as all the mexican restaurants I’ve tried, thus far, in the Shreveport/Bossier City area are stingy of their portions by comparison. That said, the food was a at best. They recieved the extra for their service and hospitality. Would I eat there again? Sure! Now that I have a better idea of what to expect. I have some pretty picky taste buds, you might find their food to be a so give Chimi V’s a try. Enjoy, and thanks for the view!

My friend and I were presently surprised by Chimi V’s. We chose it because of the location, but the food was great. Make sure to try the guacamole!

UPDATE: The manager at Chimi V’s contacted me and was super apologetic and shocked at our experience. He knew who we were and assured me nothing like this would happen again. Kudos to him for taking the time to try to make it right! This place has been a favorite of our office for a while, but this was a bad experience. We were a group of about 20 and people’s food came in very staggered(I was done eating before some got their food). We ran out of chips and salsa for a long time. The flat bread several got wasn’t as good as usual and didn’t have the drizzle on it that it usually does. One person’s to go order came way before her delayed meal. Then tickets came with really long delays a few at a time. Since I felt bad that people were getting loud about not having tickets and a ‘to go’ order when over half the table had paid and left, I went and thanked our server for taking care of us. She told me we need to talk to our people about tips. She basically told me it was a big restaurant and someone left her some change for a tip. I asked her if she meant our group, she said, «Yes» and just a little change, and that she has to pay bus person. Ok, so my fun night got so bummed and I took it personally. Maybe she was having a bad night, but I had also worked all day and had looked forward to this outing. I went from feeling bad about something I didn’t do to getting mad that that burden was put on me. I left a good tip and lots of others did, too. Doesn’t it balance? Maybe it reflected their opinion of the service. I don’t know. I felt it was information I shouldn’t have had to know. I’m not personally responsible others. Then after I left, I was told that the server said someone didn’t pay for a drink. By then so many were gone, who knows. The person still waiting for her ‘to go’ order covered it. Not ok. 2 stars instead of 1 because I used to love the place and my fish tacos were yummy.

They are as good as advertised. Great Fajitas!!! They serve them with a Garlic Butter on the side too. There were four of us in a Happy Hour Group. Everyone was pleased food wise. Also, they have a really nice selection of Cocktails and Beers for a Great Price. Ate Very Well for a Fair Price!!!

Mediocre at best. I love my fajitas, and I’m easy to please, but not here. I was not all that impressed. Especially from a restaurant that has four stars on Unilocal. The décor was really kitschy, which is good sometimes, but almost looked like they were trying too hard. I get it… Chuys, Friday’s, Chilis… They all have it, but this seemed a little over the top to me. The salsa was bad, the equivalent of tomato paste and onions, and some Chilis. Chips weren’t too bad. I wasn’t a fan of the margaritas. Something was weird about the mix. I ordered on the rocks and got a frozen… But a marg is a marg, so I still was happy to drink it. Fajitas were ok. The tortillas were the one good thing about the meal! I really enjoyed those. I got the combo fajitas for one. Meat quality was average. But if you choose fajitas, I guess go with the chicken. I honestly won’t be back here. Even if I happen to be staying in Shreveport again. I’ll wait for Dallas fajitas next time.

«Please don’t be like Ta Molly’s, please don’t be like Ta Molly’s.» This was my mantra during the drive over to Chimi V’s. I was craving GOOD Tex Mex but didn’t want to pay the ridiculous prices over at Superior Grill. For some reason, we never noticed this Chimi V place. Anyway — We ordered to-go and had to put our order in at the bar. The bartender wasn’t very personable, but he was polite and answered my questions about the menu. I was craving a wet burrito but upon discovering many of the burritos only contain meat and nothing else, I ordered the Fajita Enchiladas. I was jazzed to discover that I could pick both a chicken AND a steak enchilada … yay! I love to be difficult. As soon as he punched in my order at the computer I knew I made a mistake. I wasn’t in the mood for a pile of greasy slop on a plate. And although the description referred to the enchilada as «Grande» I was skeptical. Enchiladas are all basically the same size. Ugh. Oh well. The husband ordered a beer while we waited. He asked for the baseball game to be put on, but the bartender couldn’t find the remote(there wasn’t very many people in the restaurant and he did seem to WANT to change it, so it wasn’t a preference thing). But our food didn’t take too long so no biggie. I was pleased to see that our meals came with a bag of chips and a tub of salsa each. We get home and my enchiladas look AMAZING. I don’t see neon orange goop anywhere. And they ARE grande! I take a bite of the rice(I am hella picky about my Mexican rice!) and it was SOGOOD! I raised my hand up in the air; we had a rice winner. I take a bite of the steak and my hand goes up a little higher. VERYGOOD! My kids are staring at me at this point, wondering WHAT is wrong with me. But I take a bite of the enchilada and guess what does NOT happen? I don’t get greasy sludge pouring out around my fork. The cheese is thick — not gooey. I like the consistency. Almost ricotta-y, but firmer. My hand is raised to the roof. The peppers and onions were crisp and tasty. The refried beans were fine — nothing to blow me away, but not horrible. My husband stole a bite of my enchiladas and he is struck by jealousy. He ordered 2 of the Tacos de Mexicana and was upset that it wasn’t very much food. But really, he ordered 2 tacos, what did he expect? He needs to start letting me order for him. Anyway, he was very pleased with the taste of his food, but I wasn’t paying attention. I was too busy concentrating on forcing myself to save half my meal for lunch the next day. I am excited about going back soon. I hope to have the same good experience I did this time.

I really enjoy this place. The parking lot is easily accessible and off the highway so I eat here every time I am in town. They have a quick pick lunch menu that suits most but it’s not super fresh so I order off the regular menu. The chips are typically served warm and the salsa is very flavorful. The wait staff is more into taking care of your needs than shooting the bull with you, which is nice. Don’t get me wrong they are friendly but not too much chit chat. I enjoy the chicken enchiladas and fajitas. I’ve not enjoyed libations here but the word is the bar scene is not bad at all. I will be back again and again and again.

Came in as I like enchiladas. Ordered the cheese and onion enchilada fajita. Now I normally have to ask for some onions on the side but this was perfect. Lots of onions and the fajita steak was tender and tasted great. The house margarita was tall and full of alcohol and cheap at happy hour. Over all I am pleased with my visit to Chimi V’s I went away full and not disappointed.
