It was OK, the employees there are unfriendly, may because they were extremely busy… maybe I will go back.

First time here. Better than I expected. Will go back and try their ribs since they were out today.

I went to Dickies the first time not expecting much from a chain bbq restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised. I have been back several times and enjoyed each visit. By far the best meat on the menu is the chicken, alway juicy and full of flavor. The beans and macaroni and cheese are decent. The service has alway been great.

Finding BBQ in Bossier is a challenge. Finding Good BBQ is impossible. Dickie’s is average at best. I expected more bang for the buck. The combination plate was kinda dry and the potato salad has a weird taste. The beans were great. Portion sizes are disappointing.

I’m driving to Texas tomorrow to enjoy some BBQ. Seriously, I’m going to drive several hours for a smoky treat. I decided I would whet my appetite. I’ve had Dickey’s before, so I knew I wasn’t getting world class BBQ. I was just hoping for something better. The service was great and the ambiance is nice with country music whispering in the background, but I can’t eat ambiance. I suppose I was being unfair when I ordered untrimmed fatty brisket. That’s my go to meat when I’m BBQ touring. The brisket looks nice, but it is incredibly dry. It is imperative to use sauce to get it down. You better have a Coke handy as well. The only saving grace for this overly smoky slab were the bits of rendered fat. The sausage wasn’t much better. Though it had a nice flavor, it was dry as well. It also tasted as if it has spent too much time in the warmer. I’m picky with potato salad. I just didn’t like it, but you may think it is terrific. The jalapeño beans are ranch style, my kind of bean. They had nice heat, but were a little salty. They were decent, though. The sauce is about like any sauce you can get off the shelf, but it had a nice tang and it added moisture to the meat. I’ll admit that I’m really critical when it comes to BBQ, but if you are just looking for a full belly, you could do worse.

This place was not for me. I usually give a place that just opened a break, but nothing about the food was satisfying. I got the brisket with beans and pot salad. The meat was more fat that meat, not too tasty. The beans had no taste except for a slight cinnamon taste, and not too much beans but swimming in sauce, half the bowl was sauce, like BBQ bean soup. The potato salad had so much sour cream in it! The only good things on my plate was BBQ sauce and the roll was good, but I was not impressed with the food. The wait staff was friendly and helpful. They get the stars I posted, not the food. But that is just my own taste. I won’t go back and pay the expensive price for what I got.

First time here, they have been opened for a week or two now and I wanted to give them time to work the bugs out. I got the three meat plate so I would get a good idea of what they had. The brisket was good, moist and flavorful, the pulled pork was a little dryer, but not bad, and the ribs were moist but not fall off the bone tender but definitely not tough. The ordering system is a walk through similar to podnuhs but this place is very unorganized. They didn’t know what they did or didn’t have for meats, they couldn’t keep track of what people ordered and what sides went with what meal. The sweet tea was great the first batch then not as good the second batch so they must not have the same process every time. They fried okra for me and the okra was not cooked all the way but the batter was very good. Overall this place has some potential but they need to get their stuff together to make it work. The line moved very slow but people are supporting it so hopefully they will make it work. I will go back later to see if things have improved.

So unfair! So unfair! Bossier gets this place, and we(Shreveport) don’t! This restaurant is now open and is located around all that other hype on Beene Blvd off of Airline Drive near 220. So freakin’ unfair!
