Tougher one for me, mainly as I’m used to more Cajun seasonings versus that of the Northeastern fare. That said, Joe’s does things right. It will be sad to see the«endless summer trio«which is a seasonal appetizer be removed from the menu soon, last two visits it has been the highlight. Everything myself and those with me ate was cooked correctly, some of the most impressive fish and chips I’ve ever eaten, even if lacking in the spice department. Nothing shack sauce doesn’t fix. Overall, it makes sense for the boardwalk, and honestly one of the few food establishments that does. Prices can be steep, but that’s seafood for ya. Neat place for the family.

GREAT food and service. Pricey but crab and lobster ain’t cheap anywhere. We don’t get to eat here very often so we try to get what we want when we do. We were seated without a wait on a Saturday night around 6:00 and the food came pretty quickly as well.

My family and I celebrated my grandmother’s 62nd birthday on Saturday. Out of all places she chose Joe’s Crab Shack. I was not happy because of a previous bad experience at a different location. We had a large party in a crowded restaurant but surprisingly it was pleasant. Our waitress was magnificent. She was attentive, quick, and knowledgeably of the menu. She joked with us all keeping our spirits high because of the long wait. I ordered a catfish platter with fries and hush puppies. It was very tasty and seasoned well. It was very fresh, crispy, and large portions. Everyone enjoyed their food except a few relatives ordered crab and said it was not up to par. All in all it we had a great time, service was great, and the catfish is a go. I will be back if I’m in the area! P. S. The strawberry Sangria and hurricane mixed drinks are sooooo good. Check those out, you won’t be disappointed !

After a delicious dinner last night, my boyfriend and I decided to come back tonight. The bar service was pretty terrible last night but we had a great waitress that made up for it. Tonight the wait was longer, so we sat at the bar longer. Both myself and my boyfriend have worked in the service industry before and I always try and give servers the benefit of the doubt. Both the bartenders were semi rude from the beginning, well as soon as we said we weren’t sitting at the bar for dinner. We did order two hurricanes and they stayed empty for at least 15 minutes before anyone asked if we wanted something else. We watched the bartenders making a giant thing of punch, one dropped a container of juice, container and all into the mix, which she then fished out with her hand. Completely unsanitary. On the bright side, we had Taylor for a server and she was amazing!!! Witty while staying on top of things, we requested her again for our dinner tonight. The food is wonderful here but we will definitely not coming back to this bar when the bartenders are Amanda or Candace. Food= 5 stars Service in restaurant= 5 stars Bartenders= 1 star Cleanliness= 2 stars

Not very busy this Sunday afternoon. Drinks were strong. Stuffed mushrooms were good. Crab legs, lobster, shrimp, sausage, corn pan was good. Service was good. Everything was just good. Nothing great about it. But ok!

Four open tables, an hour wait is what you’re told at the door, and staff is literally sitting at the open tabels. Weirdest place ever. That’s if you can even find a parking spot

We came for the Bairdi crab special. My wife wanted to try it for Mother’s Day. My kid had MahiMahi. We sat on the patio and our waitress was very sweet. This location is in an outdoor mall that seems to be a bit disfunctional. There are numerous closed shops. The mall is along the river in between casinos. So, lots of entertainment options nearby. My wife and I both selected a Bairdi crab bucket that came with two sides. It was around $ 27 and we both got two large body sections(not the gut area — these were full of meat too) that each had large legs as well as a huge claw attached. They have different spices you can add — I got hot and spicy and the wife got Chesapeake. Let me say at this point, this place is called a «shack». It is not fine dining! It is CASUAL. They have a bucket mounted in a hole in the center of the table for shells. We both had juice dripping off our elbows and we used nearly a whole roll of towels. Messy but DELICIOUS! This was my wife’s first time with anything other than snow crab and she needed a little instruction to get started. In the process of trying to break off a leg, my wife accidentally knocked over a ¾ full top shelf margarita and it dumped on my daughter’s half eaten Mahi. The waitress saw what happened and brought us towels to clean up. She didn’t say anything else. Within minutes, she walked back with a fresh drink and said a new plate of fish was being cooked. All at no charge. She was awesome! Others have really nailed this location. We had an excellent experience. The food was awesome, the waitress was super nice and efficient. Some complain about the prices but for HUGE crab, it is cheap! We have a small restaurant in my home town that specializes in crab and their prices are double what we found at Joe’s. If you go, expect super casual, kind of loud and messy if you get crab. I can highly recommend the Bairdi crab. Take off your rings and watch, tie on the bib they give you and dig in!

I ordered a Ribeye steak here and received one that was excessively fatty. I told our waitress, Kaitlyn, what was wrong and her response was immediate concern. She notified the kitchen manager, Jesse, and he immediately set out to make everything ok. They went above and beyond to make sure my wife and I were as happy as could be. Mr Jesse even allowed my wife her choice of desert on the house. I have lived in this little town for almost ten years and have never been taken care of the way I was tonight. I will definitely be sure to frequent this establishment more in the future. Hope you have as good an experience as we did.

Saturday afternoon a week ago– Me and the bride made our annual pilgrimage to the Boardwalk and it was time for some food. We just wanted seafood. 10 minute wait at this place is good but I was surprised. The service– our waiter, was polite, attentive, knowledgeable and sincere. The food and drinks arrived timely and he had help. — With that said, a section next to him wasn’t as fortunate. A waitress happened by to check on us and it was pointed out that a table in the other section was needing a drink order. Off she went. The food– better than Red Lobster. We are talking a chain stores here. The app was crab dip and chips. The dip actually tasted like crab! The chips were fresh. The entrees were hot and ready when presented and were rich with taste and the amount of food was just right. My knock on this place is the line dancing the staff seemed required to do for certain songs. They were less than enthusiastic about it and it from the reviews, this time could better spent taking care of the customer. I ignored it but give the customer more bang for the buck.

Perhaps I just remember it differently but I was surprisingly disappointed during this visit. Service was fine but menu choices just didn’t seem to satisfy. Once chosen the dishes we were served were certainly not bad but nothing about which to write home to Momma. I left wanting more including paper towels & toilet tissue of which the ladies’ room had none!

My wife and I have been craving Joe’s for about a year since we had it for the first time in Pigeon Forge, Tn. I had a business trip in Shreveport and was able to bring the family along. The crab was seasoned as expected and delicious. We also had the bucket of shrimp and the were top shelf. However the rest of the experience was not as good. We asked for a children’s menu and was told they were out. Orders chicken poppers and French fries and we were told prep didn’t make enough of them, Mac n cheese and mashed potatoes. Really? Our waitress did all she could to make it up. Then while we were eating one of the ladies cleaning the tables was spraying it with cleaner and sprayed my wife on the arm with over spray. I give it 3 stars due to the taste of our food. However it could use a good cleaning and freshening up.

If I could give 0 stars I would… generally poor experience all around. Seafood platter was skimpy considering the $ 22 price tag. I don’t mind paying for good & plentiful seafood. Artificial wait time due to table being held for large party — we were there an hour and the party never arrived. Was carded — I’m 50 — and refused service because I left my ID in the hotel room. The manager approached the table with an apology but it was abrupt & insincere. Will not return.

We were there for an after wedding family function, for some reason, the gal at the front door initially told us 1 hr, the 1 hr became 2 + hrs. Finally we got the manager to intervene. We were observing how she was seating people… and we thought she needed more training. She would let everyone in, even groups of 14 that just showed up ahead of us. SO, how do you save a for a table for 24 when you keep letting groups of 14 ahead of us. What an idiot! We were starving by then. Service at the front desk was 1 star, while servers were 4 stars, they both ensured we were good with drinks. Got desserts to go which was apple cobbler, it was so nasty and looked like baby food by the time I got back to the hotel to eat it. We stayed cause we really wanted crabs and seafood and I do have a sweet tooth.

Sucks! When the boardwalk first opened this place was great in every aspect. Later it seemed if it were sold to someone else. The waitstaff changed, the hostess and Mgrs. All for the worst! I’ve given it three more chances. I will not go back. The beer is ALWAYS hot. the steamed crab always cold. dirty disgusting tables outside. Thought I was going to layout the guy seating people after he said he called for us to be seated but never did. I watched the mooron like a hawk knowing he would forget, actually told my wife he probably would. The hostess saved the jerk after he tried to get loud with me… wrong move, I’ve worked in the oilfield 20+ years, lets get loud. anyhow so sorry because it was good long ago.

Absolutely horrible service, and horrible food. My friend and I ordered mozzarella sticks as an appetizer and the cheese was so hard in them and they were cold. When our entrees finally got out the coconut shrimp was chewy, the cheesy mashed potatoes were tasteless and luke warm. Her good was bland and fried were cold. Totally let down, and will never go back. Pissed, because I got sick from that disgusting shrimp as well. My whole night was spent laying in bed after that nasty meal.

Will I feel better after writing this very low review, probably not. This joes is a waste of money with a careless waitstaff. I know the place has a laid back attitude but you just charged me $ 23 for a dried out piece of over salted crab… so can I get a refill on this ice tea??? I’ll never go to a joes again! I can curb the crab attack until I’m near a all-u –can eat dungenuess And snow casino buffet. It’s even cheaper! And re-wallpaper the bathroom for goodness sakes. Maybe they are waiting for it to completely peel itself off.
