Ordered take out based on the good reviews I read. I wasn’t thrilled with my choice, garlic veggies. You have to walk through part of the hotel /casino(smokey) to get to pick up your order. If i had seen pictures of the outside before I ordered I wouldn’t have considered this place.

I’m torn with how to rate this. Please bear with me as I explain. My waitress was a sweet lady named Jamie. She tried very hard to help but was not one of the knowledgable ones folks talk of when they say these people know their wines. She did confer several times with the owner on the Madiera and a couple others regarding the white wines but those they asked were ambivalent to her questions and really didn’t seem to want to help me. As you all know, I love wine and if I’m in a new location, I’m honest when I say I’m a Unilocaler or am going to review for Unilocal(although here in Shreveport, I get weird looks and questions like«you mean trip advisor?» Or «is that like a Google?») but I WILL test the servers. Since I’m moving soon, I was packing all day and was not at all dressed up and I think the young male server who was helping Jamie on the floor as well as the owner took one look and discarded me as… frankly, I don’t know… All I know is were it not for Jamie’s attempts to be helpful I’d have walked out because of their ambivalence. And for the young male servers hair to be that long, I’d be nervous for him to be handling my food anyway. No reason for them to act this way because the location they are in? Um, on my worst day I outclass it. So anyway… Ok, back to the experience — The wines by the glass are basic but priced accordingly at around 6 for the whites and 9 – 14 for the Reds. better price than at Frank’s or Wine Country but way less quality. They do seem to have a full service bar but Jamie did not even bring the cocktail or beer menu I see from the other pictures. The appetizers looked good so I went with Crab Rangoon. At 4 for around 4.00 with this yummy Thai Chili Sauce it was delicious! I again tried to get Jamie involved with a possible recommendation regarding my lunch but she really just said it was all pretty good and that I could adjust the«heatness» if something stated it was spicy and I didn’t want it to be. I just went with my normal go-to dish of Mongolian beef, an egg roll and friend rice. Honestly, the fried rice and beef were one of the best I’ve had in my 42 years. My egg roll was forgotten and I reminded her twice but didn’t get it til she boxed up my food so it’s sitting in my fridge to try later. I asked Jamie for some yum yum sauce but she did not know what that was. I didn’t make a big deal of it, since I had some at the house I bought from a specialty shop anyway. The final bill, for the appetizer, lunch, 2 white wines and a dessert apéritif was 32.00. I tipped 8.00 for Jamie because she tried and the food was pretty great but I would rather go to an average restaurant with superior service than have an experience like I did today. Here’s another example of how they treat people: The older lady who was taking the Togo orders by the register apparently forgot someone’s steamed rice so of course they called back to discuss it. I heard her cut them off twice saying loudly«EXCUSE me?!» Before handing the phone to another female, rolling her eyes and saying«I forgot the rice but he’s just being… YOU deal with it!» Then talking to her saying«they only get a small steamed that’s it!» as the other lady attempted to help the caller. Ugh. For as lousy as location you are and as empty as you were today for lunch, maybe y’all you really ought to care more about the customers. Because yes your food was very good but overall it was an unpleasant experience and I will not be returning. Food ~ 4 stars overall experience ~2 stars. I think 3 stars is about fair here.

Lucky Palace is indeed a very unique Chinese restaurant — being located in the lobby area of the somewhat shady Bossier Inn and Suites Hotel. It’s very easy to miss this restaurant in the daytime(I did it even with GPS) as its only signage is hidden by an Exxon gas station right off of I-20 at Diamond Jack’s Blvd. In the evening, it’s easier to see their bright Neon signage. It’s not even initially obvious where the restaurant is when one enters the hotel lobby! The location adds a bit to its mystery as well as charm as it is also locally known as one of, if not the, best Chinese restaurants in the Bossier City-Shreveport metro area. Another unique factoid is that the friendly Malaysian(but ethnic Chinese) owner Kuan Lim is also locally acclaimed as a wine connoisseur(check his wine list if you need convincing). They have been in business for 18 years. My son heard of this place through local word of mouth, and also heard we should stick with their house specialties menu, so that is indeed what our dinner group did. On being one-of-a-kind, as one professional reviewer commented — this may well be the only restaurant in the world that serves a $ 7 sesame chicken lunch special as well as a $ 760 bottle of 2002 Harlan Estate Cabernet Sauvignon. Our group of seven had on this special occasion visit: Appetizers: — Korean pancakes — Duck on scallion pancakes — Two Pirate Boats — chopped scallops served on Belgian endives with Thai salad Entrees: — Home Style duck — Crispy dual prawns — Pan fried Chilean sea bass — Ginger jalapeño T-bone steak — Alligator with garlic sauce — Combination meats with pan fried noodles(only dish not on the specialties menu). They didn’t have the Asian-Cajun BBQ shrimp on this evening, so this was our substitute. Desserts: — Sesame balls(filled with chocolate/peanut butter I think), with pecans — Egg tarts with whipped cream We also had a couple of bottles of a reasonably priced($ 30) and smooth malbecs(Tinto Negro, Uco Valley, Mendoza, 2012). Additionally, I had a previously untried beer — Corsendonk Agnus Tripel Belgian ale, and which was just an example of some of the unique selections Mr. Lim has here. Overall, we had a delicious meal with some unique tastes, and with good drink and company. Kind of the way a nice dinner outing should be, and Lucky Palace delivered on its end. To my surprise, they even had mello live entertainment on a Sunday evening(a guitarist and a couple of vocalists). The food wasn’t Chicago Chinatown Chinese, certainly not Americanized Chinese, but more I would say something like an excellent Chinese-Cajun fusion theme. Jason was our attentive and competent server, and a 10 year veteran. Thanks for taking our group photos also Jason! I highly recommend Lucky Place as a foodie stop off the beaten path.

I travel often for work, and ended up working very late into the evening when I got into my hotel last night. I was happy to find this place and that they delivered as I did not want to go back out. I ordered the Kung Pao Chicken and a spring roll. Delivery took about 45 minutes, and everything was hot and very good and the portion was very generous. The delivery girl was very friendly. Will definitely order again when in Bossier.

What a gem of a place! It’s tucked away inside a motel which is a little unusual. We had the alligator in garlic sauce, duck, and kung pao chicken. Loved everything! Will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu. P. S. There was a live band playing ballads from the 60’s and 70’s which made the whole experience pretty surreal.

I have been dining here for ten years when in town with family, and have NEVER had a bad meal. David’s prawns are my all-time favorite. The specials are the way to go. Just ask a server for direction. Mr. Lim, the owner, is a sommelier, and he has the BEST wine list that rivals anything you can find in a big city, I kid you not. Just ask for a suggestion, and you will be pleased. This place is intriguingly dark and sleek. You can enjoy a fine meal and take your time over cocktails, wine, appetizers, dinner and dessert, and not break the bank. Give it a try.

Bossiers best kept secret!!! Fresh and delicious!!! Ask for KRYSTAL!!! Krystal is the best! She has gone to get our desert. Highly recommend the Shaking Beef, most tender beef I’ve ever eaten. Shrimp and scallop dish prepared excellently. Not over cooked which is so easy to do. I do agree with the David Lynch setting, well worth the risk.

Seriously the worst Chinese food I have had in my 34 years of life. It’s hard to mess up beef broccoli, it’s hard to mess up egg drop soup(I thought). Their egg rolls may be good but unfortunately they forgot to bring them with my order that took 1 hour and 20 min to deliver and it was ice cold.

I ordered delivery, the guy who took my order was really rude, kept cutting me off during the order and it took an hour ½ to get my food. Once I got it, the delivery guy gave me the receipt saying sign this, no apologies for the wait. The portions were large and the food was good but I had to heat it up because it was cold

I go here a lot, usually with a group of friends, occasionally I order delivery. We always describe this place as some David Lynch meet’s Jim Jarmusch film set. It’s inside a sketchy hotel, and at first it takes a bit to figure out where to actually go, but once you get seated it’s definitely unique, dark, and mysterious. First off, order from the«House Specialties» menu, this place shines on that menu. If you are looking for bargain meals, this is not the place for that. I’ve had everything on the specialty menu, and it’s all amazing. The standout favorites for me are the Green Curry Prawns total favorite, Cantonese Crispy T-Bone is incredible, Ginger Jalapeño T-bone comes all diced up on one plate, Tamarind Marinated Rack of Lamb with Jalapeño Mint Glaze is out of sight, Nothern Style Duck with Steamed Buns is so yummy.‘ If you do venture off the specialty menu make sure you have proper guidance, for example the broccoli and edamame makes a great shared appetizer, and the pirate boats are delicious. This place is a great place to go if you and some friends wanna order a bunch of different things and share it all with each other. Most of the dishes are made for sharing, and the portions are generally large. Lucky Palace has a world class wine list, but they also make great cocktails. Granted, your in Shreveport, and this town is not known for it’s exceptional food service staff anywhere, however there are a few people at Lucky Palace that really go the extra mile. The owner is super friendly, and makes this place fun and most importantly DELICIOUS. If you like quirky odd places that are off the beaten path and serve delicious food and drink, you’re gonna love Lucky Palace.

Perfect example of not judging a book by its cover! It’s located in the lobby of a questionable motel. But the wine list is amazing and the food is just as good!

The first time I visited Lucky Palace I was a little afraid. The location seems a little sketchy. After my visit, I completely didn’t care about the location. Lucky Palace has become one of my favorite go-to(and deliver) restaurants. The food is fabulous and the adult beverage menu is superb! I can’t say what menu item is my favorite because I try to order something different every time that I go. The portions are enormous and I usually end up taking most of it home.

Don’t let the location fool you. Once you get over the possibility of being trafficked ala Taken, this is a wonderful place. It’s tucked away in a really shady(possibly hourly) motel off the highway. Once you cross the«lobby» area and enter the restaurant, you’re transported to the 1970s Chinese restaurant of your dreams. The décor is distinctly dated, but in a charming way. All the red and black lacquer just add to the experience. We arrived for a late-ish dinner one weekday evening. The dining room was empty except for us and we were taken to a «romantic» table near a window. The view from said window left something to be desired, but I wasn’t about to complain as I was in need of sustenance. The wine list is quite extensive and seeing as it was quite warm out, I opted for a glass of albarino. It was exactly what was needed, light, bright and crisp. The price was extremely reasonable. For my meal, I had the orange chicken because I had been craving(don’t judge me) Panda Express. My dining companion opted for a duck dish that came with pancakes. I’m pretty sure it was the moo shu duck. Our plates were HUGE. I was expecting a tiny little portion of chicken and rice. Maybe some decorative broccoli. This was a platter of chicken and a bowl of rice… just for me. The duck was served in a similarly large portion. We couldn’t help but laugh. That laughter stopped when we started eating. Actually, all conversation stopped when we started eating. The food was that delicious. I was expecting mall level Chinese food. This is probably some of the best Chinese-American food I have ever tasted. It may not be authentic but everything was extremely flavorful, well done and high quality. The chicken wasn’t grisly, tough or overdone. It was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside with a sweet, slightly spicy sauce. The duck, pancakes and accompanying sauce were also perfectly delicious. Both of the employees that attended our table were extremely knowledgeable about the menu and the wine list. I was extremely impressed because the young man who refilled our waters looked so young but made extremely great recommendations to us. This is a must visit for anybody looking for good Chinese good in the area.

You won’t find this Lucky Palace on your own — it’s tucked away in a shady corner of a small hotel near DiamondJack’s Casino. But every single time I come back to Texarkana to reunite with my high school friends between college semesters, we drive all the way to Bossier to eat here because the food is THAT good. Our usual order is always platters of chicken fried rice, lo mein, curried chicken, and egg rolls with every kind of sauce. Everything is SO good — I definitely recommend splitting everything rather than getting a single dish for yourself. It’s all served steaming hot, and I’ve never been disappointed by anything on the menu — try anything! The staff is super friendly as well. Since all of the food is fresh and made to order, they’re always receptive to changing the menu items up for you in any way you want. The lunch hours are usually slow(probably because this place is hidden so well) which means you get more attention from the waiter and get your food extremely quickly. If you’re in the Bossier/Shreveport area and like Chinese food, THISISYOURPLACE. I live in Austin and I catch myself craving Lucky Palace frequently. No place quite compares. GOEATHERENOW!

The pork fried rice was half-assed and dry(literally jerky) like it was from the night aswell as the pork spare ribs… I made my order at 5:15pm and by the time i got home… complete upset! complete fail on the lucky palace busines. You were warned!!!

So far this is the best duck I’ve found in town. Also the wine selection is ridiculously huge, and strangely enough the wide variety changes frequently. The staff is friendly and prompt. The only downside I’ve found is finding it the first time!

Ain’t gonna lie – walking through the biker bar to get to Lucky Palace made me feel a bit precarious. Ok, a LOT precarious. Then you pass though what appears to be a fairly shabby motel lobby to find the restaurant proper. This is old school Chinese restaurant décor circa the70’s, with tacky red leatherette menus and curiously uncomfortable wicker chairs. But the food is magnificent. Varied menu of traditional favorites well cooked and with fresh ingredients. Add excellent service and a really good wine selection and a splendid time will be had by all.

Bank president said this place was the best Chinese in area. I was disappointed tremendously. I was frightened when we pulled up and pimps were dropping their«workers» off and the street thugs hanging in front and in the lobby had me holding on to my pink knife. The waiter was first class! He rated a 10 plus in every category. The wines are fabulous. Some of the best wines in the area. The fried rice was burnt. You could taste the burnt because it was all the taste it had. The orange beef had very little beef. The hot and sour soup was so greasy you automatically got heart burn. The eggrolls were very good. Everything else tasted refried and overheated too many times. Dont go on Sun afternoons at 3pm.
