This is my all time go-to Chinese place. It’s been around forever and has the same people working there since I can recall-like a little family restaurant. The flavors here are among the most complex that I’ve had anywhere-and I’ve eaten Asian in NYC, Vancouver, San Francisco and in other cities like Dallas. My favorites are: chicken with broccoli, china town, Kung Pao with white meat sub, house lo mein, and garlic chicken. My uncle loves the Mongolian beef. They have a 12 piece fried chicken wing appetizer that is great to dip in a soy sauce/chili paste/duck sauce mixture(you have to make it just ask for extra chili paste). They do not use MSG. I finally saw the chef the other day and the opportunity arose to compliment his skill. He states that in a lot of dishes he uses a broth reduction to make up for the lack of the MSG flavor enhancer. The waitress Edie is very friendly and funny and I try to go to one of her tables every time. Edit: after reading some other reviews I realized that I forgot to mention two more positives-the price and portion. I don’t think they’ve raised their prices in a while and the food is very affordable. The portion size is very good bordering on almost being two meals. The house lo mein will feed you for two days possibly three. I agree with the other reviewer that their fried rice needs a lot of work and I just go for the steamed rice.

It’s good for lunch. Their lunch is very reasonable. Although I haven’t been here in a while, it’s a great place and I really enjoy it. My mother isn’t too crazy about it but I like it. They don’t deluge but they have a great take out menu. I haven’t been for dinner but I can’t imagine it would be any different from the lunch except the prices would differ. Bring your appetite with you here. They give good portions. I give 2 thumbs up!

I ate here my first night in Shreveport visiting my uncle. This restaurant was a good start to a nice visit out of town. The service is good and the food is one of the best Chinese food I’ve had at any restaurant. It’s not like those buffets you can get food from; it’s even better! We had chips with the sweet and sour sauce and they get you ready for the meals you want to eat. The chips have good flavor and the sauce is better with it on the chips. I finally got to try shrimp with vegetables which kind of looked like a vegetable soup in the presentation. I also got white rice as a side. The shrimp in this dish was a good taste with the flavors of the vegetables in them. I also liked how the carrots that are lightly sliced tasted. They had a nice look in the dish and tasted great. All the other vegetables in the dish looked nice and had a good taste with the meal. I believe I finished mine. The rice was a good healthy thing to have on the side of this meal. It had taste and flavor, something I don’t really find in most rice. I finished my rice because it went really well with everything if I think about it. Now for a little humor. When my uncle gave the waitress a $ 20 tip she jumped up and was really excited. It was then I realized he loved the food and the restaurant. This was good food and good service. I didn’t see a thing wrong with this place and I would really love to come back.

This place is ok. The service is pretty good but the food is just not up to par for me. Living on the west coast so long and having China town in my backyard makes me very picky on chinese food. But hey your in Bossier/Shreveport your out of luck buddy.

Husby and I tried Ming Garden for dinner a couple of weeks ago. We didn’t do take-out, we opted to dine in. We went on a Wednesday night and because we’re child-free, we opted to eat a bit later(around 8:00). It wasn’t crowded and we were seated immediately. Service was FAST. Drinks were promptly refilled. The restaurant was clean and the dining room was nice. For an appetizer, we had the Crab Rangoons. They were very good — perfectly cooked with a generous amount of stuffing. Husby had the hot and sour soup — and while he said he’s had better — the soup was hot and tasted fresh. We then ordered General Tso’s Chicken, Pepper Steak, and the Sweet and Sour Combination(with pork, chicken, and shrimp). All were excellent. The portions were amazing and we took plenty of food home and we had it for lunch the next day. I didn’t care for the fried rice(which came with the dishes) — it really wasn’t dark enough for my liking — I like a lot of soy and sesame oil, so it may just be me. We will definitely return for dinner another night — and probably quick take-out on evenings when we’re busy.

This is one of my favorite Chinese food places in this area! Luckily, it’s in my neighborhood! I even walk here sometimes! I LOVE the Vegetable Delight! Fantastic! The General Tso’s chicken is delicious, as is the Kung Pao Chicken! I also love China Town! This place is cheap, cheap, cheap! Great for a first date or to take a colleague out to lunch. The food is good, service fast(I get to-go here all the time!) and they won’t vacuum out your wallet or purse when it comes to paying the bill! They are even open during inclement weather! I got a to-go order here last year, when it snowed! I walked there!(the food was a real nice warm up!) Not to mention, their Hot and Sour soup is the best in town and perfect for those cold winter nights in front of the fireplace(maybe for a third or fourth date, eh? Queue that music!) Anyway, as far as Gardens go, and how they grow, I fully subscribe to Soundgarden, Madison Square Garden, Maple Leaf Gardens, Midnight In The Garden Of Good And Evil is a great book!, Enchanted Garden, Danh’s Garden,(not so much Savage Garden) but definitely Ming Garden! Give me a green thumb and a belly full, and I’m a happy man! This would also be a great place for your office Christmas party! Call for details!

The best General Tso’s chicken that I ever had! Huge portions. The worst cold sesame noodles that I ever had! It tastes like spaghetti with sesame paste on top. What happened to the lo mein noodles? Where’s the peanut butter? Everything that the rest of the party ordered looked really good as well. Just stay away from the sesame noodles ;)

My boyfriend and I were both craving Chinese food, but we wanted a light lunch to tide us over until it was buffet time! We IPhone’d a few different Chinese restaurants only to find that they were closed or no longer in business. Luckily, Ming Garden wasn’t, so we stopped by. The restaurant looked a little run down, but it was very crowded, so we were hoping that was a good sign. We were seated fairly quickly and given their lunch menu. It was your standard Chinese food fare from Kung Pao chicken to beef schezuan. The lunch special came with your choice of soup, fried rice, and an eggroll … all for about $ 5 – 6 a plate. I ordered the chicken with garlic sauce, and my boyfriend had the Mongolian beef. First came out the soup, and we both had the hot and sour. It didn’t live up to its name, but it came with a bowl of fried wontons, which I loved. For our entrees, the meat wasn’t good quality, and the garlic chicken didn’t come out spicy. I did like the veggies, which included bell peppers, mushrooms, carrots, and water chestnuts. They were crisp and fresh. But the sauces they came in weren’t too appealing. The fried rice and eggroll were just average. Drink-wise, they serve Pepsi products! Awesome! But we didn’t get any refills. In fact, service was lacking overall. Our soup came out before our drinks. And when we asked for additional sauce, our waiter just grabbed it from another table and threw it onto ours. We felt like the service was rushed, as if they wanted us out of there as quickly as possible. We were hoping to find a good Chinese spot in this area, but so far, no luck.

It’s been over 13 years since I was last here. For mother’s day, we decided to grab some food to go because we figured it might be a bit packed with families. It’s not a huge place, but we figured it might be best to eat comfortably in our own home. Food is still good as I remember. My mom actually prefers the combo lo mein here than at Imperial Cathay. The other items pepper steak and sweet and sour chicken were on the decent side too. I think I’ll stop by for lunch before I leave town, which is served from 11 am to 2:30 pm. Service is fast, at least with to-go orders… That or they recognize my mom as a regular customer.
