I used to love coming here with friends to watch a game, but I must say I was disappointed yesterday when I was there for the Pats /Broncos playoff game. Four of us sat in the front area near the entrance. The service was very infrequent as I was lucky to see our server once every 30 minutes, and when I tried to flag her down she would completely ignore me. Then there was a situation I which these 2 homeless-looking guys came in who were clearly not«all there» and were asking people for money and creeping people out. I flagged down a server(not ours because she ignored me again) and told her they were creeping us out, and all she did was go up to the guys and say«do you guys need anything?» then bolt to the other end of the restaurant. For the next 20 minutes the staff seemed to completely avoid our area while these guys continued to freak out customers. Eventually they left and the staff suddenly started coming around again. I understand that in that area of Boston those people will inevitably wander in from time to time but it did not appear that the staff was making an effort to address the situation. Then there was the settling of the bill. One of my friends was leaving before the rest of us, and he told our server that he was leaving and asked to break off his own bill, and she just came back for the whole bill for the table. So my friend gave us cash and left and the rest of us figured we’d close the bill and open a new one because we wanted to stay. Then when the server came back I explained to her that we wanted to split the bill between 3 credit cards, she looked at me like I was a cockroach and said«we don’t do that! It will take too long in the system!» I said that I had done it there several times before and she said«not during a game. We’re too busy.» Then I asked if there was an ATM so that we could split it up with cash as she rolled her eyes and said«just give me it I’ll split it» and walked away. She came back after few minutes and said the same thing again«we don’t split it during a game because it takes too long blah blah blah» but then after a pause she said«fine but JUSTTHISONETIME» and stormed of again. I highly doubt they’ll actually be keeping track of that«one time» pass that I supposedly have. She then came right back with the bill split between the cards just like we asked. I was confused because I thought it was going to take a long time. She spent more time talking about how she couldn’t split the bill than it actually took to split it. We also noticed that the table next to us split their bill with no problem and for the record, the other times when I’ve had it done there were during playoff games. I also noticed after the fact that there as a sign that says«ATM available» and the server should have mentioned this. I’m usually cooperative with whatever policies a restaurant has — I just asked to be informed about them politely. All that said, while the service was terrible my burger was very good and we had a good view of the game and could hear it perfectly. I will give this place another shot.

Went here for the Patriots game today with friends and it was not too crowded. I appreciated that they had the sound on. They have a variety of food and drink offerings which was nice. I had the Paul Revere Sandwich which was delicious and filling. When we went to pay the bill we divided it up among 3 cards. We’d been here before and paid with multiple cards, and we saw the table next to us also paid with multiple cards so we assumed we’d be ok. The server rudely took our bill and said she didn’t have time for this since the game was on and walked away for a bit, and then came back and repeated how we were wasting her time. in the time she spent yelling at us she could have ran our cards. On another note, later in the evening the other servers seemed to pay more attention to our table which we appreciated. Also, while we were eating panhandlers entered the restaurant and stood over our table for quite a while asking us for money. While I’ll admit I’m not comfortable dealing with homeless people either, we were disappointed the servers didn’t do anything about it when we drew their attention to it.

Expensive cocktails but they are quite delicious. They don’t list the prices of the cocktails, so beware. My friends and I found seating pretty easily on a Tuesday evening. We were not helped right away and some of the waitresses sort of just looked at us before we caught one of the waitress’ attention to ask for menus. After being helped, our waitress was cool and attentive. I ordered the buffalo chicken tenders. One of my friends ordered the grilled cheese(added bacon) with fries. My other friend just ordered fries. I enjoyed the buffalo chicken tenders. The portion is just right for as I ate it as a meal instead of an appetizer. My only complaint is that the buffalo sauce was a bit too spicy. My friend enjoyed her grilled cheese. My other friend liked here fries but didn’t like the inconsistency of the cuts were. Some fries were MUCH larger than others. There is a lot of space in the back, where they have a few pool tables. That’s cool. Other than that, the bar is decent. Nothing spectacular but nothing seriously to complain about. Vibes are chill so I’d be back as I am in the area often and if my friends wanted to go somewhere to eat, drink, and chill out.

$ 14.99 lobster roll with fries, best deal around. Sam Adams Rebel Grapefruit IPA on tap was simply delicious. Friend enjoyed her Paul Revere(pastrami/corned beef reuben) — hearty and satisfying. Friendly bar staff makes all the difference. Convenient location on the Freedom Trail, across from Boston Commons, near Downtown Crossing shopping. Good pit stop if you’re in a pinch in this touristy area!

I’ve only ever had drinks and pool here. But staff is super friendly. And the people that hang there(for the majority) are, as well, friendly and fun. Always good tunes on the juke box.

Good chill bar… I went on a Sunday so it wasn’t too crowded. We ordered a vodka soda, a 7/7, and loaded nachos. I have nothing to complain about. The drinks were good(a little watery) and the nachos were yummy with the chili on top! The music was good… the people were chill… and we saw Star Wars afterward… I have nothing to complain about… lol looking for a drink and a snack? You’ll love this place?!

Definitely got food poisoning from their fried pickles. Retched and had hot sweats and chills all night and I’ve never felt that way before in my life. Their pool tables are fun though.

Such a great atmosphere, food and drink prices were very ideal given the average city prices. There were TVs everywhere and a lot of pool tables to keep you entertained, the wait for the tables weren’t long either and the staff was great.

Had to wait 10 minutes after getting seated to order. Waitress was not friendly or interested in taking our order. Never came back after we received our food. Both orders were off. Hostess overheard loudly complaining about hangover on Christmas with coworkers. Food decent and neat pub. If had employees that cared at all it would help.

«Meh. I’ve experienced better.» That sums it up just about perfectly. It’s not terrible by any means. We did have great service from our waitress in the back room. But, the food is mediocre at best. The men’s room is less than clean. It also smells pretty bad, in general, in this bar. I won’t write that I’ll never go back but I’m certainly not going to suggest a return visit.

The burgers are enormous. The quality of them is very good too. I enjoyed the atmosphere while I was there which was at lunchtime.

Disgusting food. Probably the worst I have had in a VERY long time. Granted, I ordered through a food delivery service and didn’t actually eat there, but still… The nachos were soggy and drenched with what tasted like cheap, store-bought salsa. The cheese was poorly melted and was in blocks all over the tacky multi-colored corn chips. Threw them out. Then on to the chicken fingers. dry, tasteless, hard as rocks. The only decent thing was the honey mustard sauce. Threw them out. Then the burger. dry, tasteless, soggy bun. And with fries that were unseasoned, not salted-just awful. Threw it out, too. The best for last. the mac and cheese. It was a color that makes the box kind look dull. It was the brightest and nastiest orange color I have ever seen. And it tasted like plastic. Threw it out immediately. HOWISTHISPLACEINBUSINESS??? Even though I only had a couple bites of this«food», I felt sick all night. Don’t eat here. unless you want to waste a bunch of money and feel like you want to vomit.

I’ve been here a number of times after work. It gets very crowded pretty early on. I’ve never sat at the bar because it’s always busy and kind of a tight squeeze. Usually I’m hitting up the pool tables($ 2) in the back and having a few drinks. The beer is a little pricey and the food is about average price for bar food. The apps are delicious. Ones I’ve tried include: mozzarella wedges, buffalo chicken strips, regular chicken strips, nachos, chili fries, and bruschetta. Yeah, I’ve had a lot of stuff, haha. The only downside is, it gets so busy that the waitstaff become less attentive. Even when people started clearing out, it was still pretty hard to get a drink. We couldn’t find our waitress for a while and had to settle with empty glasses for a good 20min. Overall, I’d come back for a couple of games of pool and a beer or two.

Fine. Pub. Best part is the pool and the decent priced drinks. DONOT bother with the lobster roll. Honestly, mediocre at best with limp fries. If you want legit food, just get a burger. It’s a pub after all!

What I don’t recommend: coming here on a weekday between the hours of 5 and 7. I tried to go here on a Wednesday, and I was utterly disappointed by the server’s sloooooowwww service. We waited for her longer than it took us to either eat our food or consume our drinks, and when we asked for the check, we continued to wait another large span of time before she came getting it. I am not in the habit of carrying cash, and neither is my friend, so we looked desperately through our respective bags because we had to go. We found money, but we definitely overpaid and over-tipped, because the server did not come in time to give us change, and she did not give us the opportunity to really talk to her at all during the meal. I had the chicken caesar salad, and my friend had buffalo wings. We liked it, but neither one of us would claim it was the best we’ve ever had. We were both also quite ravenous, so there was no way we were going to say we didn’t like the food. Super-crowded, poorly spaced out, not the best service. Then again: it’s right near the Downtown Crossing and Park Street stops, in the middle of a ‘bustling’ city(this is for you, Bostonians), and still a local hangout for residents. Will I come back? Probably. Will the service be better? A guaranteed no.

Beantown Pub is a great place to enjoy a Boston meal. It is conveniently located along the Freedom Trail. I stopped in for a beer, lobster roll, mac n cheese, and baked beans. They were all very good! They serve quickly & the service is very friendly.

Went here to meet up with a large group of friends. You really can’t beat the location and the prices are very fair. It’s definitely not a fancy place by any means. The weekday evening crowd age varied from 23 – 65 when I was there but the mean age was about 35. Despite going during an important sports game, the place was not packed. It was kinda nice actually because my group received great service from the attentive waitresses and there was room to move around. They have pool tables(you have to pay but it’s cheap) and countless TVs. The place was deceptively large and accommodated the crowd well. Probably not a place to impress a date, however the bar food was really good. Disclaimer: I was there on a Monday so that may contribute to the amount of space we had and the level of service.

Pretty good pub food and beer in a great location. It’s no wonder this place is always packed. It’s super loud when the evening crowd is in. The service is always abysmal, though. The staff are a friendly bunch, but there don’t seem to be quite enough of them, and sometimes it takes some doing to get more food or drink or the check at the end of the night.
