Wonderful quite, classy atmosphere. We had fine service. The choices of meals were varied and creative and the food we had(scallops and swordfish) was great.

I like this café better than the other one they have in the museum: it’s fancier and more personalized. Less people and noise, a better view. The brunch options are pick 2 or pick 3 — not that flexible. The food is well served, cooked slowly though. I absolutely loved the tomato bisque, try it if you happen to be there. Great place for a weekend brunch or lunch.

The worst gnocchi I have ever tasted. Chicken was delicious though and service was fine. DONOTGETTHEGNOCCHIS

An excellent and very civilized option when visiting the MFA. My food was very good(pork tenderloin), excellent and attentive service, Very pleasant, elegant, and relaxing atmosphere. Not cheap, but quite reasonably priced for this quality of meal and restaurant. The best food and restaurant I experienced during my trip to Boston.

I wish I had discovered this space sooner. The Bravo Restaurant, tucked inside the MFA, is absolutely gorgeous! The food is exquisitely prepared as well, and the team pays attention to detail. I went to the restaurant for a guest chef event and enjoyed wonderful New England-centric food — scallops, prime sirloin, and butterscotch pudding. I can’t wait to return!

I’m sure i would’ve enjoyed my experience at BRAVO, if i had the chance and wasn’t treated extremely poorly by the unfriendly and inconsiderate Bartender who«welcomed» us at the bar. Very disappointing and i don’t think i’ll ever go back.

I had the seafood risotto dish for lunch at Bravo at the MFA this past Thursday and I am sorry to say it was completely tasteless, no presentation and skimpy portion for what it cost. Never again. Elaine Gallinaro

Sat on the terrace for a concert in the courtyard. The atmosphere was nice, with a great view of the stage. The service was pretty good, but the food was not. The dumpling appetizer was extremely salty. The striped bass entrée was so overcooked, it was inedible. We had to send it back.

I am confused at the mixed reviews for Bravo since my experience with the food was exceptional. I honestly can’t think of a better meal I have had in the Boston area in recent time. I ordered the sea bass and it was perfect– cooked tendered and seasoned wonderfully. There is beautiful outdoor seating overlooking the courtyard where there is live music. It is almost magical. My only gripe is that we did not have reservations(we were more than happy to sit in the lounge) but service from the bartender was a little slow which I didn’t think was fair. I understand if service is more casual in the lounge but we are still ordering from the same menu and I would have appreciated the same attentiveness as the other patrons since no one was even sitting at the bar. He also saw me open a gift at the table and did not ask if we were there for a special occasion, which I thought would have been a nice touch. Otherwise, a perfect meal.

Love this restaurant. The bartenders are always friendly, ready to suggest something awesome and accommodate anything I want. I come here a lot and just have a small appetizer, and I can always find something good. Get the steak tartare when they have it on the menu. It is very good.

This museum restaurant does a quality job, has descent food and often will have life music. Meandering the galleries and dropping in for a special dinner is a real treat. If at the MFA and up for a quality experience, definitely put this place on the list. For holidays and around special events reservation are recommended.

Boston museum of Fine Arts is among the greatest museums in The world, it is immense and offers several restaurants. Bravo is contemporary and offers great choices in my opinion, see menu in photos for the specials today. The mushroom & leek soup and crusted tuna were both excellent today. The soup had small cheese stuffed pasta pieces that were great compliments of flavor to broth with well chopped leeks and tasty mushroom(not sure what type). This soup I could have eaten all day just wonderful. «Herb Crusted Tuna» was as tasty as the soup, rosemary & thyme flavors with other layers of spice not sure of(but more subtle and tasty). Wines by glass run $ 10 – 15, a 2008 Australian meritage«Mulderbosch Faithful Hound» was very good and complimented choices tried. Professional service, ambiance and food are wonderful. Preparation is beautiful and prompt today. What a great relaxing lunch for a break in touring extraordinary museum which I cannot take in more than a fraction in one day. Glad I have almost a full day to tour. I’m not sure if I’ll try a different restaurant next time here or not, Bravo will be hard to beat.

Ok, this is my first review ever on Unilocal. After our brunch at Bravo yesterday I just had to say something. The décor and staff were really great. Very helpful and polite. I wish I could say the same about the food. I had the crab cakes to start off. This was the highlight of the meal. Sweet tender not a lot of filling, lots of crab meat. Really great! Then the mains came. I had an omelet, with gruyère cheese and mushrooms. I mean how hard is it to cook eggs for a $ 33 brunch and not screw it up. I guess for these guys very hard, and so was the omelet. Overcooked, rubbery and tasteless. The home fires were just the opposite, undercooked, hard and tasteless. My wife had salad nicoise with tuna. The salad part was fine, hard to screw up lettuce leaves, but the tuna which looked like it was cooked fine, nice and rare in the middle, was yet again dry and tasteless. Oh it was my wife’s birthday, which I happened to mention in passing and the waiter presented her dessert with a very nice Happy Birthday written in chocolate on the plate. So like I said the service was very good, décor very nice and serene. But like my Grandmother use to say«you can’t eat ambiance» All this took over 2 hours of our day at the museum and cost 3 of us over $ 125 for a lousy meal. Oh well, I hope this stops somebody else from making the same mistake we made. Next time I’ll pack a brown bag.

Eating here is like taking a trip back in time — carpet? Overpriced vegetables smothered in a thick layer of cheese that wasn’t mentioned on the menu? No thank you. The food was mediocre and service was insincere and very, very bad. Don’t waste your time or money — the café in the museum’s mezzanine is much better.

Al and I have always been women in arms that enjoy all the gorgeous little things we do together. Number one on our list of hobbies? MUSEUMLUSHERY. As lovers of art and art history, bon vivantery is our homage to the drunken artists of yore. Needless to say we spent a good amount of time here when visiting the MFA. The place is a touch expensive, but total worth the visit. We will be back.

I had below; 1. Oyster: it was fresh, and very good. 2. Salmon: the skin is crispy and meat is juicy, and the sauce makes everything much. It was big but not oily and fat. 3. coconut cheese cake: It was awesome. It tastes rich but not heavy, the cheese cake was creamy and it much with crispy coconut and sweet sour fruits sauce.

I’m hungry. I could get up, walk downstairs, and make breakfast, but instead I’m sitting in bed thinking about food. I just thought of brunch, and the last time I ate at Bravo during a Sunday trip to the MFA with grandma. We always *think* about eating at the café downstairs, but it always seems to loud, bland, and pedestrian to measure up. On Sundays, Bravo offers a two or three course brunch only. It’s something like $ 33-$ 37. The service is extra polite and there’s a real life musician playing the piano. I thought my ricotta crepes, eggs benedict, and hash browns were simply delightful. I’ve been coming to Bravo for years(or to whatever restaurants have occupied that space, anyway). If I’m at the MFA and need a meal, I will stop in. No question.

I feel guilty not really liking Bravo because my mother kindly treated me to lunch there, but I have to say, I would resist going back. The food was actually pretty good. I had a zucchini and scallop bisque and some arugula pesto risotto, both from the appetizer menu. I enjoyed both, although neither was rave-worthy. My mother had the beet salad, which featured a beautiful rainbow of different beets, and the crab cakes. What tips the equation for me is the pricing relative to the quality. The prices at Bravo are ridiculously high. The crab cakes, for example, were $ 28, yet were served with potato chips instead of a real side. Our meal, including one gin-and-tonic and one diet Coke, rang up at $ 80 after the museum member discount. It wasn’t nearly worth that price, especially for lunch. I also really disliked the atmosphere here. The layout feels like they just haphazardly arranged some tables and chairs in a big unused banquet room. Particularly considering that Bravo is in an art museum, they could do something more interesting with the décor. Supposedly they are closing for several weeks for renovations soon; perhaps they’ll address it then. Unfortunately, I doubt I’ll be back to see it. For the kind of money it costs to dine at Bravo, you can have a much better and more creative meal elsewhere.

Jazz and brunch. So simple yet so refined. Well, when it’s all taking place inside a fine arts museum and the snow is falling softly through the branches of a bare willow tree in the courtyard below. Do you know that one? Do you recall the tune? It’s not an easy one to forget. Keys on pianos and double bass dashes Gruener Veltliner in shiny clean glasses Hands that caress and that vibrate the strings These are a few of my favorite things. Trout lightly smoked and leaves of fresh green Scallops flash grilled with an orange miso sheen Arugula and fennel and flavor that clings These, too, are some of my favorite things. Bodies and tables and softly lit spaces Hands that collect with those smiling faces Feet tapping gently while melody rings Yes, I recall these fine favorite things. When the meal ends When the bill comes When I’m feeling sad I simply remember these favorite things Bravo! I don’t feel so bad!
