It took me 10 minutes to find the café and now I wish I hadn’t. The menu includes ‘Starbucks coffee’ and is sold at higher prices than Starbucks but tastes like crap. You get a sliver of a scoop of gelato for $ 4. The entire place was horribly mismanaged and the staff very flustered. My friend received a much bigger gelato portion with a biscuit that I didn’t. It was extremely understaffed and the same person taking orders was making them and getting bills, making the line longer by the second. I ordered a latte but both their machines were broken and a sad me had to settle with substandard coffee that tasted like it was liquid taken from a sewer. Needless to say, I didn’t have a very pleasant experience.

I would give a 0 star if I can. The servers were just talking to each other and not willing to take our orders. Ordered one latte and one cappuccino. Taste disgusting like watered down America plus milk form.

The apple frangipane tart here was delicious! I considered ordering a second despite lacking the appetite. I was the only customer there but the ‘service’ was impolite and indifferent. He dropped the tart onto the plate and roughly slid it over, barely acknowledging that I was a customer while he continued his conversation with a coworker. It’s not that hard to be polite when you are providing counter service. I’ve had better service at gas station convenience marts.

Great menu, but no food available. They said: «we only have the food that other restaurants in the MFA make». Only coffee and scones.

Taste is neither café nor wine bar; it’s more of a snack kiosk in an open atrium area within the MFA. Service is at the counter; there is no table service. See my photo for the full menu. Offerings include bakery, sandwiches, coffee, and about a dozen wines by the glass. Taste itself is not a destination, but is a fine stop if you want to rest for a bit during a visit to the MFA. On a recent visit on a Sunday, even when the museum was quite crowded, I had no problem getting a seat. The seating, although technically part of Taste, is really just a lounge area in a wide hallway outside the museum bookstore, so there is no need to buy anything if you just want to sit; you can even bring your own snacks or mug of coffee.

Stopped here to grab a quick sandwich while visiting the museum. Thought it would be a nice place given the fact that lots of people where sitting in the area and there wasn’t much seating available. I waited in for an open spot to sit while my gf ordered a sandwich. The turkey/avocado sandwich left quite a bit to be desired. The turkey was dry and the avocado was more of a greenish brown spread. For $ 8.50 I expected more. Given the quality of the food and the difficultly of finding a place to sit, I recommend this cafeteria last out of all the places to get food in the museum.
