Love the ham & cheese croissant and the raspberry danish! But everything is amazing, you can’t go wrong here.

So darn good! I got a brioch filled with pastry cream n topped orange glaze. It was heavenly. Hubby’s fluffy brownie was ok. Macaroon was ok. I will be back for pastries!

Small little café in the nook of Colombus Ave, offering amazing coffee and pastries. I actually had this exact coffee at La Colombe d’Or this summer so it was a nice throwback. Can not deny it still holds that same rich expresso as I remember. The staff wears the traditional french uniform. All baked confectionaries are delightful! Highly recommend their plain croissant. They probably used a whole stick of butter per pastry, but I don’t care. follow my instagram! @coffeebeantown

So cute and in a great little neighborhood! Such a great selection and everything looked so fresh! I got the signature chocolate cake and it was out of this world! Anyone(regardless of a simple or sophisticated palate) will find something to enjoy here!

OBSESSEDTHISPLACE! Been coming here since it opened even though it’s a bit far from me. I love their normal coffee because it’s strong but not too bitter like a lot of other places. But most importantly their pastries are kind of really amazing! It reminds me of some of the bakeries in France. My personal favorites are their brownies and quiche! But really everything is great and the person who started it has a James Beard award. The only downside is there isn’t much space for you to sit and eat.

Charming French Bakery on Columbus avenue, close to Le Petit Robert in keeping with the French themes. Nice assortment of baked goods. The blueberry/almond streusel muffin was nice. Almond croissant a bit crunchy. Lots of butter here. The displays and décor is beautiful; love the ability to see the baker at work and there is a beautiful array of floor tiles. Mostly open space, seating is limited stool seating by the window.

Congrats to Hanna for being recognized as 30 under 30 to watch in Boston! I love Madeleine, but can’t tell you about any of their sweet stuff. It’s not that it doesn’t look delicious, it just that I can’t stand chocolate. Anyway, y’all have enough people talking about the sweets. The ham and cheese croissant with an iced coffee in the morning has got to be the only way to start your day. Flaky, buttery, savory, and filling, you’ll want for nothing. For lunch, there are delicious pre-made sandwiches in their open-air cooler. I recommend both the Parisienne and the Pâté. The bread is crusty on the outside and soft and chewy inside, and the ingredients really make it a top-notch sandwich. A friend swears by their mushroom soup as well. I avoid the place on weekends due to no desire to play stroller derby, but I’m sure it’s lovely then as well.

I came here with a friend on a saturday afternoon to try a few pastries(cheesecake & their signature chocolate cake) plus ordered a coffee. I personally think it’s a tad pricy but it does worth every bite though. The chocolate cake was surprisingly good(I thought it would be very sweet but it’s not. It also has a hazelnut crunch to it. Really good. Definitely go and order this). The cheesecake was not bad too. I was a little disappointed at my cappuccino(I was hoping for latte art). All in all, I would occasionally come back here for other pastries. This place is small(can probably sit 4 to 6 people max).

I’m sorry Café Madeline but I have to remove a star. The Chiffon cake I purchased was beyond dry and bland for a family’s thanksgiving dinner that no one finished their slice. It was extremely disappointing for everyone, and embarrassing. Perhaps this was a one time miss because I know the excellent quality they normally produce! I still love this place, so do check their other products.

Gem. Fancy Frenchy little corner pastry bakery & café with top notch sweets and very good coffee. All things baked confectionary are made to utter perfection. If you want cute, if you want delectable, if you want to see a monsieur in a puffy pastry chef hat, you’ve found your niche.

So good! I myself ordered 4 items from here. Ate them all within a few hours. Croissant was flaky on the outside, soft and chewy inside. Really delicious. Almost prefect, could be a little more buttery to be thee prefect croissant. The cannelle was good but not amazing, wanted a bit more crunch on the outside. I love these. The oatmeal cookie is so so good! Crunchy on the outside, with a delicious bitter taste, and a soft chewy yummy center. Sooo good! And a good amount of raisins. Recommend if you enjoy oatmeal cookies. Last were the mandolins. They were good, fine, I haven’t had these an expert amount so I’m not sure what’s the correct traditional way. They were light and fluffy… Go here! Wish I had one of these in my NYC neighborhood!

it’s really true when people say that sweet makes girls more kindly and positive. I was very upset, was in the blues(don’t want to say why I was so) but entering café Madeleine and eating chocolate croissant made me smile and feel much better. Sweet, fresh and full of chocolate — highly recommend to try≠) P. S. girls don’t despair, better eat sweet!

This place is a true gem. This is the kind of place that makes you grateful to live in Boston. It makes you feel like you live in a true world-class city and not a dump filled with chain bakeries. Do try the cheesecake, and the canelés!

The disappointment felt from a depleted stash of Parisienne sandwiches(buttery ham, hammy butter, cornichons on — who else? — Iggy’s baguette) was shuffled off this mortal coil, thanks to the ethereal, rich, dense, fudgy, decadent, stupid good double chocolate cookie. The next day, there were Parisiennes, and they were marvelous. Because a next day visit is likely. Because everything in Café Madeleine, when fresh, is the epitome of incroyable. Even the signature namesake treats, melting away while remaining spongey and wonderful. Sweet enough, with the savory undertones of citrus and vanilla. Welcome to the Both Sides of the Coin party, Madeleines — Sfogliatella brought Tostitos. Bottled cold brew provided by La Colombe is waaaaaay too strong for me. So, Francophiles looking to flex their beans can go to town on the $ 3 bottle. I’m not man enough to face those 480mg of caffeine in 12oz of sleep destruction. You can, though. Totally.

Absolutely LOVED everything I got here; the ham and cheese croissant, the chocolate ganache, the lemon meringue, and etc… all SOOO good :) If you pass by this area on Columbus Ave then be sure to check out this small little corner bakery! There’s even a clear glass window that looks into the kitchen where you can see the workers diligently baking away(I always love seeing them in action)! I’d strongly recommend trying: –The ham and cheese croissant was so savory, buttery, and crispy, but it isn’t very filling so don’t bank on it to fill the tank. Despite that, it was probably the best croissant I’ve ever had! –The chocolate ganache had such a rich and smooth texture – it wasn’t too cakey and dry so everything blended very nicely with each bite. The creamy chocolate taste was unbelievable!!! I told myself I’d only eat a bite, but I ended up devouring that whole thing! –The lemon meringue wasn’t too tarty – it was the perfect balance of sweet and tarty for an amazing flavor combination. And that’s not all, the crust was delicious! It wasn’t super soft or doughy and still hard enough that it would crumble in your mouth or when you broke off a piece of it. They are a small little café so there’s not much seating available inside, but don’t let that deter you from going in and ordering any of their fantastic café goodies! Overall, I loved the desserts and pastries here and will definitely be back for more!

This place is pretty awesome! They’re desserts look absolutely amazing! Instead of trying the croissants everybody has been raving about, I decided to try their cookie. I got a GIANT Cape Code Oatmeal cookie for only $ 2.25!!! This is one of the BEST cookies I have had! It is crispy on the outside and extra crispy around the edges, but the middle is soooo soft and chewy and yummy! The cookie was just the perfect amount of sweetness too. I am definitely looking forward to try more of the pastries! I also ordered a latte, which was actually really good too. Nothing to complain there! They also serve tea so I ordered an earl grey tea with sweeten by vanilla bean… I think lol. I’m a visual person, so I wish they had a menu printed out on which tea they had instead of having us ask. But other then that, this place is pretty sweet! The service was quick and nice. There’s so many yummy things to pick from! They also have a small stand with some cool looking drinks-some kind of sweet tea and bottled drinks that I haven’t seen elsewhere, but they looked good enough to try… perhaps next time!

I came here on a quick business trip to Boston to visit a friend. The place is super cute and quite small but there is some bar seating in case you want to eat there. We ended up getting the lobster bisque, a croissant, Candied Orange Tropizienne and double chocolate cookie. The lobster bisque tasted pretty good and had some good sized chunks of lobster in it, though I found it a little too watery. The croissant and tropizienne were also both pretty good. What I really loved though was the double chocolate cookie. It’s huge and seriously tastes AMAZING. Like a brownie version of a cookie, super rich and chocolatey. Mmmm. I would come back for that cookie alone!

I’m rarely in this part of the South End, so when I found myself early for a class at BURN Fitness a block away, I decided to check out Café Madeleine. I heard good things about their croissants, and had them bookmarked as a place to try for a while now. I was disappointed at the overall selection of baked goods. Even though it was later in the day(5 pm), a bit more variety would’ve been nice. But the croissants lived up to the hype. I got a chocolate croissant, and it was perfectly flaky and not overly sweet. Tried a chocolate chip cookie too, but it was just okay. I wouldn’t trek back here for it. But that croissant? I just might!

Café Madeleine is a cute little bakery in the South End. I stopped by this bakery on my way to the airport(around 3:30pm on a Friday), and unfortunately, they were sold out of a lot of items by the time I got there! I just ended up trying their Chocolate Croissant( ), which was ok. The people working here were super friendly and apologized that they ran out of other items, which was really nice. The worst part about coming here is the parking– there is street parking technically available in the residential area right behind the bakery, but nothing was free when I was there(I finally squeezed in behind a car and ran in quickly).

There aren’t that many places in Boston for legit croissants, but this is one of them. If you think those croissants at Costco are legit, ummmm… The plain croissant was very good, as it was flaky but not too buttery. You don’t want grease stains all over you. The pain au chocolat had a nice amount of chocolate inside and the pastry was nice as well. Prices are competitive though I can find good places with slightly lower damage. The only negative that sets this bakery back from 5 stars is the, ironically, madeleine. It’s somewhat bland and dry, which was a disappointment to me. The décor inside is cute and clean. Service was spot-on. There’s not really any space to eat inside.
