The brisket was dry and uninspired, lacked any evidence of smoke rings or color in general. It reminded me southern flavored pot roast, but dry. No sauce was on it, and the sides were equally mediocre. The mac and cheese had a good kick, and the cheese formed delicious strings with each forkful, but that was about the extent of the positives. The cole slaw was very plain, and for $ 10 the portion was far from impressive. There’s much better barbecue elsewhere in this city, and for far better prices.

Every time I see a new food truck, I have GOT to try it. Probably scared the crew in the process, but they were a friendly and forgiving bunch. :) Southern/Latin Fusion Food Truck: Ordered the BBQ Brisket sandwich combo with 2 sides of cabbage and mac&cheese. ~$ 10 and change. BBQ Brisket Sandwich: The meat was a tad dry, but their homemade sauce is pretty awesome. Tangy, sweet, and a little bit of a kick. Definitely would want to try that sauce on their ribs next time. Mac&Cheese: Good cheddar flavor. Noodles were a little mushy(like most mac&cheese I’ve had) and the cheese was kind of clumped up rather than in a creamy cheesy sauce. Still tasty/homey and I ate it all, but I prefer mac&cheese that has a bechamel sauce as the base. *shrug* To each their own. Cabbage: BESTTHINGONTHEPLATE. Now, you’re probably thinking, «What? Cabbage? LIES!» but hear me out. This cabbage is cooked in some chicken broth and a magical secret blend of spices. It has a serious peppery/spicy kick to it, and it made everything else on my plate taste better. I wanted to try to figure out what spices were in there, but it was so good, I couldn’t stop myself from finishing it! Based on the cabbage alone, I will be coming back. They had a BBQ chopped chicken made with just dark meat and an applewood-smoked BBQ ribs that piqued my interest. Oh, they also do something called Pastelillos(like savory empanadas). Always next time!
