Indian fast food? YES! You choose vegetarian, lamb, or chicken and then decide between a bowl, wrap, nanini(panini w/naan), or a naan pizza. Then, you get to choose which additional veggies and sauces you might like to add to your meal. I had a chickpea/chana masala wrap with white rice, lettuce, tomato, and spicy masala sauce, wrapped in paratha. Soo good! I kept craving it after so I bought the ingredients to have chana masala wraps for lunch all week. Still. want. MORE!

My go-to place for indian food. My favorite has to be the Chicken Tikka Pizza. The Mango Lassi is delicious too!

As someone who works in the area, I’d have to say that this is one of my favorite lunch break destinations. I’m not all that experienced with Indian food, but this place certainly delivers. The menu is small and simple, which for me is a good thing. It’s basically like an Indian style Qdoba or Chipotle, with the option of making it a plate, a wrap, a panini, or my personal favorite, naan pizza. The chili chicken is my favorite and you can add whatever u want to it. I don’t recall his name but the one guy who served me the first few times was super nice, and remembered me and what I ordered after only going there twice! If you’re on the go and looking for straight to the point style Indian cuisine, give it a go. They have a pretty accommodating seating area as well.

This place is great. The food tastes pretty damn good and the prices are essentially unbeatable for the amount of food you’re getting. If you get a bowl they’ll always stuff it to the brim and then some. If you order to pick up expect it to be done within 5 minutes thanks to the chipotle-style meal prep. Plus, the service is great. Everyone is nice and respectful, and on the phone they’ll lay out all the options for you. There’s obviously better tasting Indian food out there, but for the taste, price, and speed they offer, Chutney’s is an instant favorite. Ignore anyone who says the food or service is bad, because they don’t know what they’re talking about. It’s absolutely perfect for any and all college students, as well as anyone who wants some good food, quickly, at a good price.

I usually go to the Chutney’s located in Harvard Square for my daily dose of Momos. I’m not a big fan of Indian fast-food so this review is just on their Momos. They cost 0.99 $ each and come with dipping sauce. I usually get 6 – 10 to fill me up for a meal, The Momos at this location were decent but just not and delicious as the Harvard Square Chutney’s. I felt the dipping sauce was very watered down and had very little flavor. The staff was really polite and even offered me a cup for water when they noticed I didn’t purchase a drink. It’s conveniently located close to my school so I will definitely revisit this location for the Momos again. I just wish they were as delicious as the Chutneys in Harvard square.

I’m not sure what everyone else who’s reviewed this place has experienced but none of my dinner here was a pleasant experience. My first hint at this should have been the fact that there was one other person here when I got here around dinner time on a weekend. But, we forged ahead and ordered an aloo cholle naanini and chili paneer paratha wrap. Fancy names, but really, all we ended up with was cholle(chickpeas) dumped on a naan, folded in half, and pressed for one dish and a glob of paneer and gravy scooped onto a paratha and wrapped up. From here, nonsense ensued. My mom, seeing the unreasonable-ness of trying to eat the cholle from a large sandwich without having at least half of the filling fall out, asked the staff to cut the sandwich in half. They dismissively pointed to the plastic knives kept in Tupperware behind us. We said that, given how messy it would be trying to cut the food with a rinky dink plastic knife, we’d appreciate if they would cut it for us before giving it to us. For some inexplicable reason, they kept being dismissive and refused cut the sandwich — they had no knives, they had only 1 knife, then the one they stuck with — they had never cut a sandwich before so they would not do so for us. i honestly did not know how to respond to that. What kind of restaurant says they’ve never cut something in half so they won’t do it this time? Just completely mind boggling nonsense. After all this, we decided it was time to just suck it up and cut the sandwich ourselves, leading to the predictable end result of the majority of the filling falling out and us having to eat a sandwich with a fork and knife. Beyond the poor customer service, the underlying issues for both the naanini and the wrap were that the food just didn’t taste very good(paneer was way too sweet and lacked spice, cholle was very plain) and that there was so much gravy relative to how much solid food was present If this food had any hope of being successful, it needed to be much drier and not just a glob of gravy. if anyone has had a kaathi roll in NYC, that is the consistency of filling required for a dish like this — dry, heavily spiced chunks of food that are easy to eat in wrap form because everything doesn’t come spilling out with each bite(in addition to actually tasting good). But, seeing as Chutneys apparently refuses to do things they have never done before, I’m sure they will continue to serve sloppy, poorly seasoned food while being dismissive to their customers. I will certainly not be eating here again

I have low cost Indian food in nyc all the time and its magical. I’m in Boston for work and was hoping for something similar to the things offered in Curry Hill. But nope, i was wrong. My dog gets better food out of her Purina bag than this place. Avoid!

More like fast food than any other Indian restaurant I’ve seen, the food was good but not great, and I think they could upscale it a bit to make it nicer.

Chutney’s is a true gem. Food is great at an even better price. Doesn’t seem to have much business but I think their marketing game is weak.

If you are craving indian food and want something fast and under $ 10 this place is perfect. They have some interesting variations on indian food such as the naan pizzas, but trust me, biryani rice bowls are the way to go. Chicken tikka, chutney’s chicken, and spinach paneer are all delicious. Top it with lots of yogurt and spicy mango sauce. Not the best indian food you’ll eat in Boston, but certainly the best value.

Good spot to have a quick bite and a hot cup of masala chai. I had the paneer paratha wrap and it was good, however it could have used more sauce. They have a lot of sauces they offer however its somewhat overwhelming to read and choose when there are other people in line to eat. Service was alright, not really enthusiastic or helpful.

This place does fast, inexpensive Indian food. In the restaurant it’s run Chipotle style. For the price this place was pretty good but really the food was just average. I got the spinach lamb(essentially Lamb Saag), an order of naan, and a mango lassi(all for less than $ 15). The naan was dry and a bit stale, not the soft fluffy buttery bread I was expecting. The spinach lamb was bland. The lassi(which I collected from a drink cooler where there were about 20 pre-made) was watery but tasty. On the bright side the staff was nice and when there was a question over my internet order an employee called me promptly to make sure they understood what I wanted. Overall, if I was drunk I probably would have been extremely happy but for a weekday lunch I was underwhelmed.

I love Indian curry and I think this place gives you a good combination of fast service and good curry. It is a Chipotle style place. This is probably my go-to place when I am in the area and if I am hungry and want something quick. I usually get a bowl with biryani rice which is worth the extra cost. The chicken tikka masala bowl with biryani rice, extra curry sauce, if you like it, and all the toppings(cilantro, onions, jalapenos(be careful, these sometimes are extra spicy!), tomatoes, and lime) and the chutney, I get mint along with chili garlic. It all mixes so good in the tummy! I love it! They have plenty of chutneys to choose from. I also get the veggie paneer. I like the mixed veggies and the curry the comes along with it. I either get this or chicken tikka masala. The portions is a good size. If I am hungry, I finish it in one sitting, and I also debate if I want to save some for later, but if I decide to eat it in one sitting, I get food coma. I like it so much that they know me, because I go there at least once every other week. I do not know if that is a good or bad thing on my end. Hah. Overall, it’s a good, affordable, fast, place to get an Indian curry fix.

First time here today for lunch. I had Halal lamb curry over biryani bowl with tomato, tikka and garlic sauces. Very tasty. Also had a veggie Somosa(potato and pea). I liked my meal very much — lots of flavor even with the limited flavors I picked . This isn’t the all-you-can eat dingy madness of the former Bombay Café Indian here — it’s clean, bright and colorful and the food is customizable. This beats the same 6 things served over and over at the former buffet that was in the space. The Indian pop music is fun too. Purists might scoff, but for fast food Indian it’s fun different and welcome in the Berklee hood. Getting rid of styrofoam containers and maybe training the staff to offer suggestions for combinations to westerners(they just pointed to signs when I asked«what would go with that well?») would be my only suggestions.

Chutneys was clean and the chickpeas were good. However, my positive comments end there. The saag paneer was inedible. The spinach tasted like chlorine and I had to spit out the cheese because of its rubbery consistency. My boyfriend got a naan pizza. We thought it would be naan with chicken tikka spread on top. It did have cubes of chicken and a drizzle of mint chutney but there was also tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese, ingredients which had no business being anywhere near an Indian dish. Most of our food went straight into the garbage. Needless to say, I would NOT recommend Chutney’s to anyone.

Whenever you try to adapt a rather complex ethnic food group into«fast food», it doesn’t quite work out. This location is no exception. The food was not very good. This establishment tried to copy the way Chipotle runs. It may work for Chipotle but it certainly doesn’t work for Chutney’s. I initially decided to try the place because of the sign. They have a good sign and i’ll give them that. But I feel they need to improve the food drastically.

Definite new-style Indian on the horizon. I love the décor(but then I am Indian so it touches a cord). I am just glad that this is not one of those«ordered-too-much-food-gotta-sleep-now» kinda place. You can add fresh veggies and extra sauce/yogurt to the main dish. It gives the dish a character and nuance that can’t be done without the«chipotle» effect. I think the best compliment has to be that my mother did not wanna share her roll with me… not even a bite! Now that’s gotta mean something…

Always an affordable place to have Indian food served Chipotle style. I always have the chicken tikka rice bowl with biryani rice, tikka masala curry, some veggies, chilly garlic sauce, spicy masala sauce, mint sauce and the firecracker sauce!

Best in town… right across the Berkeley college. Beautifully decorated restaurant with very friendly and welcoming servers. I had a chicken momos there yesterday and it was really tasty and juicy. Also the mango Lassi was very good. Very satisfying experience, will be going there again. Recommended to everyone who loves food.
