I expected more from Deli One. The employees were great and my sandwich was made quickly. But said sandwich was really just ok. I had a pastrami and swiss on rye bread. The quality of the meat wasn’t great and I feel like the sandwich was thrown together really quickly. I could have done a much better job making my own sandwich at home. Maybe I just didn’t order the right thing off their extensive menu.

After coming here for a few months now I realized I was just unbelievably hungry my first time here which led to my 4 star review. In actually it actually deserves more a 3 star. The food is not bad, but it isn’t great either. Certain dishes are substantially better than others. As an example, i tried their haddock one and truly enjoyed it. The next day I had their chicken dish and had to throw half the chicken out because it was so rubbery. The mashed potatoes which I so raved about… actually not that great. It tastes like it’s made out of a box, which is okay, but not deserving of a rave review. I would still recommend this place if your in the mood for a lot of food. With my stomach tempered, sadly I had to deduct the star. 3 stars

Let me save you the year it took me working in the financial district to figure this out: if you want a NYC-style breakfast sandwich that hits all the right buttons(fast, efficient, on a good roll, wrapped so you can eat and walk) this place will never disappoint you. A sandwich with meat and a small coffee runs 6 bucks, which is a buck more than I’d ideally want to pay, but it’s so perfectly constructed I don’t care. They’ve got a customer in me for life.

Fab groovy place. The breakfasts are so wicked yum-yum eat’em up… and John knows your usual order before long. Spinach Pie is the most primo this groovy guy has ever had. Good salads and other things to put the taste buds on overdrive as well. Wicked nice staff. Cash only.

Real food, generally generous portions. Great comfort food, with some solid healthier options. I especially like their haddock and mac and cheese. cash only is annoying. Its just not convenient to have to stop at an atim(despite there being numerous ATMs in the Area to take out money only for this place. I don’t come here as often for that sole reason.

Cash only. Lunch for less than $ 10 and really quick. People were nice, help if you needed it. Many of the patrons seemed like they’ve been there before. Stopped by because a friend wanted breakfast around noontime. Looks like a cafeteria type place due to the line and food set up. Everything looked delicious though. She ordered two eggs over easy, home fries, toast, and sausage. Average, nothing to fancy. I had the beef stew over rice with a roll. I enjoyed it. Decent portion, I could not finish my plate. Would like to come back and try their other dishes.

Doing a 3 week training at downtown crossing and this place is around the corner on Arch Street. My colleagues discovered it. The food is fantastic, the customer service is quick, polite and gracious, and the place is clean and efficient. We’ve tried many dishes from the breakfasts — grilled corn bread, fruit cub, bacon and egg sandwiches, etc and for lunch: salad, chicken soup, baked haddock, mashed potatoes and gravy, seafood pie, Mac n cheese, steak tips, stuffed cabbage! Oh my! Everything is delicious, comforting — and big portion. The staff is nice and respectful, and the prices are more than reasonable. Try their rice pudding

They have real food here. That may seem like an interesting way to begin a review but, that was my first impression. I saw on Unilocal that they had excellent chicken noodle soup, a rainy day staple. so I trudged out in the sprinkles to get some. It looks a bit like a cafeteria, which is not ideal, but take a look inside the«hot entrees» end of the counter. Half roast chickens, macaroni and cheese, baked haddock, roast pork, ravioli. What! I will so be back to try some of those. The guys behind the counter have clearly been there for years, and seemed very kind and helpful. Got my chicken noodle soup and a grilled cheese for under $ 7. This is some real chicken noodle soup. Not from a can, not made with bullion. Chicken. And noodles. And carrots. And a tiny bit of celery/onion. And delicious broth. Really, I could go on. But this ranks up there with my mom’s — simple yet excellent. The grilled cheese was something I could make at home, white bread and American cheese goodness, perfect paired with soup. I love finding local places Downtown, especially ones with clearly homemade comfort food. There’s only so many times you can eat Panera. I’m full, happy, and want to take a nap. Take your cash and get down to Deli One. Even better, I saw they have breakfast…

Two times I have gone there, two times I have been yelled at — there won’t be a third. I said I had three different breakfast sandwiches to order and I start to list them and on #2 the grill guy — john I believe — starts yelling at me telling me how I should say the order«no! Say three meat sandwiches…» And«I’m busy!!» Guess what? He got the order wrong! Shocking! John will be a little less busy now — going elsewhere. The sandwiches are ok, but I prefer mine without a heaping helping of rude.

Deli one has great food. The service is decent no exact place to order though I would of liked to see the cook wear gloves and or a hat of some sort. The seating is limited but overall the price is unbeatable.

Their chicken kabob salad is the bomb. Generous amount of chicken on top of romaine with tomato and cucumbers(included pita bread). Best price in town. Speedy line and friendly service.
