I’m writing this review because I used to live in Boston and have since moved to Los Angeles. Everytime I have a disappointing Bibimbap here, I keep wishing it would transform into a Grass Roots’ Bibimbap. It’s the best Bibimbap I’ve ever had. So if you have the ability to go get one from Grass Roots, eat one for me! :(

Oh baby, what a gem! I don’t like going to chains, so I’m constantly looking up local restaurants on Unilocal.I’ve come across Grass Roots multiple times and finally decided to give it a shot. The caesar wrap, as dull as it sounds, was fantastic. Yes, it was your standard caesar wrap, but it was fresh and it had just the right amount of croutons, cheese, dressing, chicken, and lettuce! It was B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L-L-Y packed! The Triple B is solid. I wish the rice was crunchy, but a plastic container to go is no stone bowl! You get a lot of rice and eggs, vegetables, and meat! I didn’t know it came with soup too. On that day, the only option was chicken noodle, which turned out to be a whole lot saltier than I thought. This café is more expensive than most chains around the area — Chipotle, Subway, etc. — but I think it’s worth the extra bucks. I will be back to try the Korean food!

Stopped in for a quick sandwich between meetings based on the recommendation of a local. I had a chicken avocado on seven grain and it was perfection! The staff was super nice too!

This deli is hidden inside a building. I could not find it from the outside, so I walked into the building and walked around until I found it. I came at around 130pm and was able to snag the last«Triple B», which is very delicious bibimap. This is not a sit down place, come here and grab your lunch and go. The cashier(and I think the manager/owner) is a really nice Korean dude who knew some of his customers by name and was so so so nice. I had to wait a little for my food, but it was delicious. it also came with miso soup. The bibimap was presented in a pretty way, with delicious vegetables, juicy meat and rice below. You also get hot sauce which is pretty hot! It adds a nice kick to the food, I can’t wait to be back! They also have sandwiches but I really want another triple b!

This place is a little hidden gem. Literally hidden in a corner in some shopping complex LOL. Entrance is more on the Summer St, closer to Pret-A-Manger. I had no idea what they served but the cashier(wonderful person) suggested a few things for me. Sadly they ran out of turkey, but no problem! Got chicken instead. Ordered the sriracha sandwich on white with chicken. It smelled so good in the bag LOL. Smelled bomb. Opened the bag and what do you more can you expect but a sandwich on toasted white, with onions, tomatoes, and cheese. Perfectly toasted bread with fresh veggies and melted cheese. Ugh. Tasty af. Doesn’t get anymore complicated than that. The cashier was great doe. He was really nice, seemed like the owner, and helped me out a lot. Always called me sir which was a little funny but nonetheless I’m so glad he was open and friendly. Even said if I didn’t like my sandwich please let him know and he’ll fix my problem. A little expensive for a sandwich, about $ 8+ each, but pretty worth.

I got the spicy pork and triple b. Great price and good portions. Only bad thing is they don’t have tables and the location is kinda hard to find.

Grassroots is hands down my favorite lunch spot in Boston. The food is delicious — the srirachin turkey sandwich(panini with roasted chicken, sriracha, honey mustard, cheddar and red onions) is phenomenal, and all of their Korean specialties knock it out of the park for me. Breakfast is great here too — they bake their own muffins(apple cinnamon is the best!) and have a killer breakfast burrito. The service at Grassroots can’t be beat. The guys who run the place are unbelievably friendly and efficient — they guarantee their food. If you’re not satisfied, let them know and they’ll make it up to you. They’re always ready with my coffee order when I come by in the morning, too. They are a great local business that I am proud to support!

FYI read the menu in the hall if you want Korean fusion. Coworker and I went here yesterday and were confused by the limited deli sandwich options in the café area. That being said the sandwich we both ordered was delicious with thick cut turkey breast. Staff was very friendly. Will try again.

I had the bibimbap burrito(triple b burrito) and it was huge and tasty — great amount of spicy pepper sauce and it came with a soybean soup too. The server was very nice and helpful. Yum yum.

I don’t know how they churn out such a wide variety of delicious food from this tiny spot in the 101 Arch Street Lobby… but they do! The bibimbap is my favorite, but everything I’ve tried has been just perfect.

Excellent little café tucked away inside a larger shopping complex. Do not be deterred by the small size of the kitchen, their«Triple B» Bibimbop is delicious! It is definitely the best bibimbop you can get in town for a quick lunch and if they had time to put it in a hot stone bowl, it would probably be the best in town overall. The owners are very friendly as well and I love supporting the locals who are using their parents or grandparents recipes.

This place was great. Hard to find since the address is on Arch Street, but accessible from Washington Street. Definitely worth it!

My favorite place to go to for a quick meal in this area. It has none of the boring sandwiches that you see at many other restaurants. The Korean options are nice too and an excellent value for the money.

Pretty tasty spot for lunch! It’s a small space, so come expecting you’ll probably be taking your food to go. Service was fast, and friendly. I tried the Porky’s Nightmare. It was a lot spicier than I was expecting, but still very tasty. I unfortunately was so full from the Pork that I didn’t even try the Miso Soup, but it smelled delicious! Reasonable prices for great food is a win for me!

Pretty good, fresh-tasting avocado chicken club. The combo of bacon, avocado, and cranberry sauce inside is really tasty, and so was the toasted seven grain bread(you get to choose which type of bread you want). The chicken was flavorful and not dry. But the ratio of chicken to other stuff was off for me, and I ended up taking some of the chicken out. My friend got the Triple B(bibimbap bowl) and liked it a lot. The red sauce is quite spicy though, be warned!

Can’t complain! I got the Porky’s Nightmare and it was really good!!! It’s such an approachable way to do Korean food :) For those of you who know anything about Korean food, I would say the Porky’s Nightmare is comparable to jae-yook bokkeum which I wouldn’t have guessed by reading the description. And like everyone else already mentioned, service is excellent even though its such a tiny place. I really appreciate that! I’m inclined to come back for sandwiches since people seemed to be pleased about it.

Best place to lunch downtown. Triple B and Quadruple B are bomb. As in filling and mouth-watering tasty. And at such a reasonable price. Owner is incredibly kind and makes you feel like the best customer ever. My boyfriend is also a huge fan, and he’s only had it once! But it was enough to go back when he was in town. I told my coworkers about it and they loved it too! I know some of my coworkers are vegan/vegetarian, and really wanted to try the food on the Asian Fusion menu, so a teeny tiny request to offer vegetarian options for those in the future?

Went here for lunch on a Friday around 12:15 and they had run out of a Triple B and the last person before me got the last porkys nightmare. What to do? I was visiting and I really wanted to try it based on the reviews. The one brother said the other brother was coming with more stuff for Triple Bs but he didn’t know how long it would be so I decided to take my chances. He was very apologetic. I waited and within 10 min more food arrived! Yippie! I ordered the Triple B and waited another 10 – 15 min and was I glad I did! The Triple B was beautifully presented, tasted delicious and wasn’t expensive. I was happy that I stopped here. Also, John who made all the sandwiches/majority of food was working his butt off so kudos to him!

I just got off the plane and was dying to eat and found grassroots a little ways away from my hotel. The owner was very nice and polite and attentive to our needs. I got the east west burger and my friend got the porkys nightmare both tasted fresh and the spice in the burger was perfect. The food came out quick and the only real complaint is that there is limited seats. But its perfect if you’re looking for a great meal at an affordable price on your lunch break.

Came in for lunch today and it’s a small place. So not a lot of space to eat inside.(just three tables) Anyways, ordered the Triple B and my cousin ordered the Porky’s nightmare. I enjoyed mines more since it was mixed with more items. The sauce was definitely more sweet than spicy but given the area and location, it’s still great. The pork in the nightmare and the beef in the triple b both seem to have the same marinade since they tasted the same. Tad pricey for me but it’s not bad for a quick Korean fix if you’re in the downtown crossing area. Service was really nice and it’s two brothers who own this place along with another worker. Definitely worth a chat with when they’re not busy.
