I came to 40 dalton for breakfast after being upgraded to the full breakfast buffet for being a Diamond Level Member of the Hilton Honors Loyalty Program. The breakfast buffet options included: fruit(melons, pineapple, blueberries strawberries), eggs, potatoes, brioche french toast, a rotating option, pastries, basic yogurt, and omelets to order. Overall, the selection was good, but the quality was okay. If I was upgraded to the buffet again, I would enjoy it. However, I wouldn’t pay $ 26 for the buffet. It should be noted that the staff, especially Gloria was very helpful and was a nice start to my day! *I have not been here for dinner in the past year, so I cannot comment on dinner at this time.*

Can’t give it a rating because it wasn’t open — researched restaurants near St. Cecelia’s for lunch where I could take my elderly parents, aunt and uncle after Mass. After a long walk around into the lobby, the Manager told us the restaurant was only open for Breakfast and Dinner. No hours are stated on their website, but since there is a Lunch Menu, I never thought they would be closed on a Sunday afternoon and it was distressing to have to have everyone walk further to another restaurant.

I chime in on the service at the bar, excellent! Wanted an easy dinner in the Hotel restaurant at the Hilton Back Bay. Sat the bar, had a good steak, watched some sports, great conversation with the bartender.

Can’t comment on the food because I didn’t try it but I am taking the time to comment on Paul the bartender… simply great… make sure he’s working when you stop by… and enjoy one of the best he’ll make your evening and give you reason to come back again

This review is specific to our awesome bartender Paul! What can I say! Absolute professional and awesome guy! He made us feel right at home! Gave us great tips about Boston, made us amazing drinks and pretty much put a smile on everyone’s face at the bar! It’s awesome to spend time in a bar with someone who truly loves their job and truly loves being in the service industry and serving with a huge amount of patience and a smile! Paul you were awesome and my boyfriend and I will not forget you! If you’re ever in SD — look us up my friend!

Pricey and the food wasn’t worth it. I had the seafood pasta which was an overall disappointment and my scallops were sandy

This place had terrible food and terrible service. My table ordered 2 steaks(both over-salted), habanero wings(so spicy they’re barely edible — and I love spicy food), boneless buffalo wings(the sauce was sweet and gross), and New England clam chowder(it had grit in it and I’m feeling kinda queezy after eating it). There were only 2 waiters for a room full of customers. They never came by to see if we wanted a second drink, which I would have gotten. We also sat without water for a good 20 minutes. Overall, terrible.

Very pricy for what you get in return. Good food, but $$$$. So many restaurants right around the corner, worth Unilocaling vs. eating in.

I thought it was ok for drinks. The bar staff was very attentive. I had some flatbread and it was delish. Wings were just ok. But when I arrived at 12:30 for lunch, the place looked closed. It was a bit disappointing since I was taking classes in one of the conference rooms of the hotel where this bar is housed. The hotel advertises that it is available for lunch but that’s not truly the case.

They’re participating in restuarant week… I tried the lobster roll followed by the Boston cream bomb. I was happy with my lunch.

Hey I had comped drinks on Hilton… this place was A-OK in my book. The bartender was chill and filled my drink quick. I don’t think I would make a special trip to this place unless I was staying in the hotel itself. There’s to many other bars/restaurants in the area.

Not a bad place to come for drinks while you’re out downtown. Because it’s in the hotel, it’s not very crowded… maybe if there’s a conference staying at the Hilton Back Bay, but on a normal night you’ll be able to get right up to the bar and enjoy a beverage. Drinks were mixed well. I had a couple of dirty martinis and they packed a punch but weren’t overpowering. I watched the bartender making cosmos with fresh juice — he was actually squeezing limes in there. I commented on it and he said he also uses fresh lime juice in gimlets. Was I not two martinis in, I would have been on that like WHAT. Another plus? The drinks are reasonably priced, especially for a hotel bar. My wife had a couple of glasses of wine that were $ 8 each. A Ketel One martini set me back $ 10.50. I had one at a Marriott bar in central Connecticut that was $ 14.50. If you’re bar hopping for looking for a good place to stop in for a quick drink before dinner near Hynes, this is a good place to consider. Oh, and breakfast… not bad. But expensive. $ 22 for the buffet. THAT’S hotel pricing.

Boodles is located inside the Hilton Back Bay and serves typical hotel cuisine. I can’t imagine coming here if I hadn’t been staying at the Hilton. I ate breakfast here three mornings, the first time ordering a la carte, and the next two times having the buffet. When I ordered the two egg American breakfast a la carte, which came with a choice of meat, toast or English muffin, and potatoes, it was $ 14. Add in a juice and coffee or tea, and your bill is now over $ 20. But if you get the buffet for $ 20, it includes coffee or tea and unlimited juice, so it’s really a better deal. Plus if you need something special, like maybe you want your eggs prepared some other way besides scrambled, they can accommodate your request. The service was very good, and the restaurant opened an hour early for the runners on Marathon Monday. One of my friends who also stayed at the Hilton said that he booked his room with breakfast included, but I’m not sure if they gave him a better deal that way.

There is very little I dislike more than buffet eggs. This restaurant which is part of the wonderful Hilton Back Bay is basically your standard hotel buffet breakfast place that doubles as a bar at night, serves lunch and dinner and if you are a gold Hilton member, you get a free coupon for breakfast here. Is that a perk? Nothing special here for breakfast, just your standard steam table eggs, bacon, bagels, pancakes and such.

This place looks like it got stuck in a time loop around 70s or 80s. However, they used to have an amazing beer selection: probably about one hundred different types. Unfortunately, the last time I was there(April 18, 2007) they had a beer list of a typical Boston bar with about a dozen names listed — with the exception of Chimay(which they didn’t actually have that night) and Leffe Blonde. Our waitress told us that there was a change of management about three months ago and they decided to slash the beer list.

Traditional english style steakhouse inside the Hilton Hotel. Is is mainly frequented by tourist, but the filet mignon is delicious there. They have a extensive selections of beers from all over the world.
