This coffee spot, in the new Boston Public Market, ROCKS!
Superb coffee, at least every bag I’ve purchased… my favorite is «Vienna».
AND they give you a free cup of coffee with every purchase of a bag of coffee…
Staff is super friendly, perceptive senses of humor, especially the cool, rather hip and classy woman who’s usually there when I go in.
She asked me the other day if I wanted a free cup of coffee now (b/​c I’d bought a bag) or if I’d rather take a «rain check»…
Pretty accommodating, I’d say. — that I could even get a rain check for that free cup, on another day… I wasn’t «coffee”-ed out», so I got it right then… house coffee, excellent; wish I’d asked what that roast of the day was…
— this will be my main «go-​to» coffee place, when I’m in the area on the way to Haymarket Station. And the prices are reasonable especially for the high quality, «high [pleasant]-buzz» coffee.

George Howell has created an outpost in the new Boston Public Market. The coffee booth is near the Haymarket T station entrance and is convenient for to get in/​out of the market and back on the T if need be. George Howell is surrounded by Mother Juice, Union Square Donuts (behind), Taza Chocolate, and tables. It is a power spot in the market.
I’ve been here several times and always have had a great experience. The staff and baristas are all very nice and helpful. The menu contains a variety of drip coffee, iced coffee (from a fountain like Ogawa — so neat), espresso drinks, and some other drinks. While the espresso is good, it doesn’t reach the same level as Bellino’s espresso beverages from the Coffee Trike (he also uses George Howell) but is quite good overall. The iced coffee is made by the flash brew method and is excellent (they have different varieties). They have simple syrup, almond milk, creamer, and regular/​skim milk for the beverages if needed. Prices are overall reasonable for the Boston market. In fact, I was surprised about how good a deal the iced coffee was.
There is also a small retail area where you can choose from a large variety of George Howell coffee to take home for further enjoyment.
Overall, George Howell has exceptional coffee as we all know, and it is wonderful to have an outpost in the new Boston Public Market.
