I really hate this place with a passion. You should not have to pay for a membership to buy from a store, especially since the vitamin shoppe is just down the street. You also should not have to buy 3 to get one free to get a better deal. This place is why i hate salesmen. They have a script to read in order to get you to buy more things or spend more money. Here it is… Question #1 Do you have a membership? A #1 No. Question #2 Do you want a membership? A#2 No. Question #3 We have a special deal on «insert special deal here»? A#3 No Question #4 If you buy 3 of that item you can get the 4th free. A#4 No I feel very angry every time i leave this place. The only time i go here is when the invitee shoppe does not carry something GNC has. GNC prices always cost more too.

Perhaps I had different sales people, or maybe it’s because I am completely unknowledgable about health products, but I had a great experience at GNC due to a very knowledgeable, professional staff. Came in looking for a specific herbal supplement, and walked out with a selection of vitamins and energy bars for myself… and became a gold card member. And trust me, I am not someone who is easily talked in to buying products… they sales person just did such a great job of introducing me to products that I’d always thought I’d try but just didn’t know about.

This place is awful, and I am being very generous with that assessment. Shelves that are rarely stocked, minimal selection, and lousy service from an(un)knowledgeable staff are among the things I’ve come to expect when shopping at GNC on Summer St. In addition to these woes, would it all bother them to be opened before, and after, normal business hours to accommodate those that simply can’t afford the minutes in their busy schedules to leave their office? I mean, really? This is not an uncommon reality(or request) in a bustling downtown financial district. Further, if you even were to try to figure out what their hours of operation are by visiting their website, all you get is a phone number, but don’t call(!), they cant even give you the courtesy of having a recorded message convey what those hours may be. Deplorable is a better word to describe this establishment; too bad there’s not a Vitamin World around when you need them! Note to self(and my fellow Unilocalers): plan ahead and spend your dollars at a a store that values your patronage!
