Sad, how very sad. Put sugar into anything and the US customer is happy. The juice and smoothies just taste like sugar to me.

I’ve been getting smoothies from Ben the smoothie guy since I was in middle school. It has been years and I go infrequently, but each time he remembers to ask about school and the latest boy. And OH my god. The smoothies. I always get a twist on the pina coloda(which is just fresh pineapple juice and coconut milk). Blueberry peach pina coloda. Strawberry pina coloda. Delicious delicious. I have tried to make them at home, what is it like, four ingredients?, and I have not been able to do them justice. Only explanation: Ben is magic.

Extremely fresh. I’ve worked at a smoothie shop in the past, and when we said things were fresh, it was because it was company policy to say that even if it wasn’t the case. This place? When they say fresh, they mean fresh. I was amazed when I saw him juicing the oranges for the orange juice base of my smoothie, and I commented to him about the amazing freshness. He assured me that, yes, everything was fresh, and gave me a free piece of mango to nibble on while I waited for my smoothie.

…one star off since smoothie guy doesn’t seem to be around whenever I head down looking for him… 4 stars since the guy clearly takes pride in his product… I remember him telling a customer that he would NOT serve her a mango smoothie because he tried the mangoes that morning and they tasted like hair!

This was my favorite smoothie stand anywhere in the city, and I don’t think I was alone as the line would often be several people long while I was waiting for my smoothie to finish. I haven’t seen it since they redid the turnstiles/etc. at the T station. I hope it comes back, as it was my favorite part about getting on or off the T/bus tunnel at Harvard. It’s almost impossible to go wrong simply ordering the smoothie special of the day; the only time that ever led me astray(out of maybe 25 times) was when the special smoothie prominently featured avocado, which turned out to be too … something for me.

The best part of taking the T is getting a smoothie @ the Harvard Square Smoothie Stand. If you get a smoothie, you will be treating yourself to the freshest, most delicious smoothie you have ever had. I have been known to get a smoothie even if I’m not taking the T. I’ll leave my desk, walk down the escalator to the bowels of the Harvard Sq. T station and see my friend the smoothie man. The fruits are blended right in front of you — no mystery mixes here. Just good honest fruit. I might have to get one today. The smoothie man is so smiley too, which is refreshing, kind of like the smoothie!

wow. ab-so-lute-ly uh-may-zing. sooo good. yes it’s in a t stop; yes, they actually obey the seasons(no mangos or peaches in december, sadly); yes bf and i purposely went down there for smoothies and came right back up. and yes, it was absolutely worth it. go. p. s. the strawberry banana honey and milk variety is fabulous.

I still prefer my strawberry whey protein shake over this smoothie stand. Maybe Im just a protein junkie… or maybe this smoothie stand is just overrated and over priced… or maybe im just a harvard sq hater.

oh my god this place is so good. you can actually smell the fresh fruit as you come down the stairs or exist the turnstiles. the juice is a perfect pick me up at the end of the day and the smoothies are a great way to stave off hunger. any combo is good — but the carrot and apple juice is a winner. just wish they took credit cards…

Yes, Unilocalers! You have renewed my faith in the collective health of humankind. Others who have not partaken in the slurping ritual go here for a dose of fresh, velvety blended goodness. The array of fruits is positively astounding, such exotic yummies and all at the perfect stage of ripeness. Well worth the $ 5. They are masters here. Adding half a lime to accent certain flavors, using watermelon, orange or milk base. Ask for the mix of the day, it’s always guaranteed perfection. Thanks, smoothie operator, for giving me another reason to look forward to the summer.

Most wonderful smoothie cart ever. When it returned after the winter, I was so happy I nearly cried. You can’t get much more delicious and nutrious than this place, and the fellow who works in the afternoons and evenings(is he the owner?) is indeed a great guy. Just ask him what is fresh that day, and he’ll make you a delicious drink. The juices are really spectacular too. Try an avocado-banana smoothie sometime!

I think I would be mal-nourished without this place. Seriously fresh fruit juice(you watch them juice oranges/apples ect… as you stand there) plus everything else they put in is amazing. For about 4 bucks you get a mouthfull of a daily serving of fruit. No sugar added, no dyes, nothing but fresh amazingness.

Before you head out for a night of drinking, do your body a favor and stop at the little smoothie stand right outside of the token booth at the Harvard Square T-stop. Get the special smoothie because it has whatever is ripest that day, or try the carrot-ginger juice. No sugar, just fresh fruit and ice. For $ 4, it’s much better than the disgusting fried appetizer you’d end up eating at a bar. And the guy who runs it most nights is ridiculously nice.
