I’ve gone many times over the years and have always had fun. Lots of different food vendors and interesting crafts. Free samples, cool kid rides and games. Awesome free festival to celebrate Spring. This year it was a particularly beautiful day! We had Island Creek Oysters 3/$ 5 which were super fresh and tried a few other cuisines. A great time!

Have been visiting Mayfair for past 4 years or so and it is always fun. Though there is nothing to do other than to try out food and see some dance performances and such but it kinda gives you that 2 – 3 hrs that you can get out and go in to the city and have some good lunch or so. Its full of vendors mostly food and like at least 25% of vendors are mostly Indian food vendors while there is the normal Thai vendor, middle eastern, couple Jamaican place, pot stickers place and the one that stands out this year was a small unnamed Taco stand who are opening up a rest. soon on JFK street. There tacos I had were ridiculously good. There was also an excellent Waffle place. For beer drinker there are couple beer gardens and music lovers will have some good time with a bands and random street performers playing around. Also the talent of street chalk painters is worth a mention here. There is also a train ride for the kids too. the weather today was on and off cloudy and sunny and at times windy and chilly all mixed in together but was still enjoyable overall. I kinda recommend to go there to get out for a while and also have some lunch and walk around be merry.

MayFair is a city of Cambridge tradition. Note how I say city of Cambridge instead of Harvard Square. That is because it’s all local and none of that kitschy Harvard University touristy crap which is one of the reasons I love attending it every year. The city basically closes down several blocks in Harvard Square where businesses and the community set up shop in the streets selling various food, art, clothes and random things like home décor window treatment specialists. But it’s not all business, there’s always something to see from the Chalk Walk along Church street and concerts in front of the train station to kiddie trains and street performers busking. It’s a lovely day filled with activities for all ages. Did I mention the food? There’s all kinds of food here. While Harvard Square already has quite the array of restaurants it also draws some Mexican and Caribbean places from greater Boston as well. During the few hours I spent there I had a Belgian waffle, Spanish rice and beans with shrimp, jerk chicken, and I washed it down with a lychee tea. I probably ate too much but all that cost me only about $ 15. I should also mention the event itself is free. There’s nothing but an upside to this.
