Lafayette Garage is a mostly underground public parking lot that caters to the theater-​going, Downtown Crossing, ramen-​slurping crowd. Completely central to allthethings, and relatively easy to access, an evening park job runs $ 18 and can be pre-​paid so you’re not fighting the crowds post-​Lion King. Hakuna matata, yo.
Well lit and overseen by an ever-​vigilant Hyatt Regency staff to keep an eye on your whip, it’s highly trafficked and completely non-​sketchy. Largely untraveled side roads will put you on 93 in less than 10 minutes!

We went there today when we googled all the parking garages in the area and this listing said $ 20. It was not $ 20. It would have been $ 34 if we stayed but when we tried to find parking, every space was taken or reserved and the only option left was giving your keys to someone and letting them have your car. we did not want to do that and chose to leave. no charge. then we had to drive around and found something our price range. So I don’t know who to blame. google? Unilocal

This garage is very open and located underneath the Hyatt.
If you take the elevator make sure you exit at the first level and not the 2^nd (upper). The 2^nd traps you in the Hyatt and you have to go back down 1 level to get the door to the street.
Parked here on 02/​27/​2011. They have a flat rate for weekend parking of $ 14. We attended Mary Poppins @ The Boston Opera house. The site says «Pre-​pay to save $ 2 off the rate»…Well, I will now explain how you «Pre-​Pay» to save $ 2.
The way you save is by literally paying when you park, before you exit the garage on foot. Take your parking ticket to the booth and pay. I thought you had to go to a website, or buy some sort of a voucher… Nope, just pay immediately and save $ 2.
I wish they made this clearer on the site.
The garage is your average/​above average garage for boston. There was a distinct lack of the characteristic urine odor most garages possess. I guess that’s because most of the people parking here are attending theater events. The garage is easy in/​easy out because on exit you are not on Washington street. Washington street is immediately congested when shows let out. If you head straight out of the exit you can catch Kneeland after 2 lights and head left on street, make a right and you are on the Mass Pike in 2 min.
Watch out if you are hourly parking here. The limit is 2 ½ hours before you jump to the rate for 2 ½ to 12hrs
