Yes, it’s expensive for the average person. I wish it was a little less, because I’d buy everything, but alas, I’m not a wealthy Israeli princess. But for those complaining about the prices, it’s no more expensive than top designer brands like Gucci, Louis Vuitton, or Prada. Actually probably cheaper.
The clothing is for a very specific clientele. I think the clothing is absolutely beautiful. The designs are intricate, whimsical, fantasy-​like, and walking into the store feels like you’ve entered a fairy kingdom or something. If you prefer baggy, ill-​fitting Old Navy dresses, don’t go here.

Yes, the store is filled with expensive clothes, trinkets, and jewelry. Really expensive. When I went in to the store, I realized the majority of the things were not really my style. In a split second, out of the corner of my eye, I saw a necklace that I absolutely loved. I bought it and was told by the friendly people at the counter that everything is hand made and they are guaranteed for life. If anything breaks, any of the crystals fall out, anything at all, and you can bring it back and they’ll fix it.
I wore my necklace out of the store and went straight to dinner. Just as I sat down, I felt something drop in my lap. The necklace broke and it was only about 20 minutes since I bought it. The next day, I took the necklace back. The gentleman at the counter remembered me from the previous day and I showed him what happened to the necklace. He was very apologetic and said that this was not typical. He went to the back, brought out some tools, and fixed my necklace in all of 5 minutes right then and there. He said he made sure everything was nice and strong so that this would not happen again but he reassured me that the guarantee is good for life. I’m really happy with the service and happy my necklace is looking as good as new!

I like that they keep changing up the designs and always display new items to keep us coming back in. The last two times I came into Michal Negri — the clerk wouldn’t haggle over a mezzuzah but the store manager would and I walked away with a nice gift at 80% off the regular price (which was reasonable)

Nice staff. I purchased two pairs of earring last week when the entire store was having 25 percent off, which is very rare for the designer to do. Yes, it’s an very expensive store and if you show you have the interest to buy something, the staff member is very welcomed, even not, she is very nice in general though. There is no reason for giving the store a low rating only because its price and I did not see any problem of being discriminated for wearing normal. And just think about it, labor force is very expensive in the states and how can some people say the labor force in Israel worths less (all Michal Negrin’s work are dedicated hand made work). Yes it’s a little over priced because you don’t have to pay the fly ticket to Israel plus import tax (think about it). Michal’s work is timeless and will never be behind the fashion so it not just like you spent 100 dollar on Chanel cosmetic which will be used up in 3 months.

The expensive necklace that I bought when I was visiting Boston was broken before I even got to wear it. I took it home from the store and it was broken! The store has a policy that they will fix the item, but the manager at this store is so rude and inconsiderate, I don’t trust him to ever send my item back if I pay to ship it to him for repairs. Also, he said I have to pay to have him ship the repaired one back to me. So I am supposed to pay for shipping both ways for a necklace that they sold broken to me? Some customer service. I might as well just take it to a kinder, more reliable local jeweler and spend less than the cost of shipping both ways.
In the future when I make jewelry purchases I will be taking my business to the fair trade store around the corner instead.
If this Michal Negrin place had decent management I would perhaps still give them my business, but they don’t practice American customer service and they also dont check the items they sell to you before putting them in the box!

I ordered some jewelry from their Israel website (not knowing they had US shops) The items I ordered were cheap, crappy, low quality, gum ball machine junk. Nothing was as I had ordered. To top it off, I mailed everything back to Israel which cost me $ 11.60 and called my bank to reverse the charge. An employee from Israel called me to ‘say they had to charge my account $ 50 for shipping. I explained to him that I shouldn’t have to pay ANYTHING since I didn’t get what I ordered and they were very deceitful in their descriptions. He went ahead and recharged my cc account for $ 50 anyway. Not a great way to earn customers!!! BEWARE!

Simply Fabulous! I have many pieces from this store that I have had for several years now. The jewelry is beautiful and stands the test of time. Plus, even if somthing does happen they fix it no matter how long you have had the piece. Excellent customer service!

Michal Negrin is an Israeli designer who makes costume jewelry /​clothing in the ornate 1850s-1910’s french boudoir/​high bordello style.
In Israel the stores are fairly popular with women who like this sort of thing, and this store in Faneuil hall is one of the three US locations.
There exists a tension because Michal Negrin’s stuff is handmade in Israel, and out of quality material (Swarovsky crystals), but the styling looks cheap, and the prices are at least 50% more than the Israeli stores, which aren’t cheap to begin with.
So while unique. the merchandise is probably overpriced for most people shopping at Quincy Market/​Faneuil Hall.

I bought tons of jewelry from the stores in Israel and 2 years later had to get a ring fixed. The staff was really nice about it. You can go to any store in the world and they will still help you!

I bought a crystal ring from this shop, and about two weeks later one of the crystals fell out. When I emailed them asking how I could have the ring repaired, they answered that I should send the ring by registered mail to Israel. Needless to say, this would cost several times the price of the ring. From this experience, I have learned not to buy jewellery while I’m on holiday. I would warn anyone else that you may have problems getting your jewellery repaired if you don’t live close to one of their shops.

The jewelry is cute, but most of it looks like something I wore when I was seven. The tschotkes — mezzuzot, jewelry boxes and frames — are very nice, but overpriced. A $ 100 frame that’s not even made of a precious metal? Really? The clothing is pretty heinous — cheap-​looking and polyester. Looks like something a 1900’s French prostitute would wear.

I went into this store because from the outside, the clothing looks beautiful. I do love the colors and designs, but the clothing looked cheap. For example, the seams are all sergered, the fabric is lycra, and a lot of the clothes I looked at had holes in them. Would you buy a bathrobe for $ 900 that was made of cheap fabric and already had holes in the serged seams?
If the fabric was good quality and the sewing was high end, I would say that the clothes were worth the price, but how they are now, absolutely not.

Maybe I’m just not «haughty-​tah» enough to appreciate an artsy clothing store. My friend and I stepped inside the store because we saw jewelry in the window. The jewelry was cute and unique but way way out of my price range, $ 250 for a pair of hook earrings with little jewels. Meh.
We were asked over and over again by the sales staff, «Have you heard of the artist (insert some name I’ve never heard of), he/​she designs everything here.» Nope. Never heard of them and really don’t care. The clothing looked like it came from a Medieval Times Restaurant, fairies and all. Not to mention one piece of clothing (a basic long sleeve shirt with fairies on the front cost over $ 500). They even sell artsy figurines that look more like dolled up Hummel’s from my Grandmother’s antique collection. I kind of wonder how this place is still in business or how much they actually sell here on a daily basis to afford rent.
