Bartender gave us dirty ass limes in our watered-down cocktail drinks. $ 2 Mystery Shot special on the menu came pre-made from a juice container, and tasted like cough syrup.

I have to say that I had a great time here with a large group of friends. Try any«Flight» and the people there will guide you in the right direction. I was the guy who had an unpleasant amount of salsa applied to my shirt. Our amazing waiter helped me out before I got back into my plane and into the next concert! See you next time Patron’s!

The best part about this place is that their Delirium is super cheap($ 6-$ 7). Everywhere else I’ve gone it’s been about $ 10. I guess another plus is their pool tables. They have multiple. When you go through the entrance, go straight upstairs – you’ll find the tables and the bar. There are some tables as well by the windows. I didn’t like the host or the guy who carded us at the top of the stairs. He wasn’t very patient when my friends and I were taking out our cards or deciding whether we wanted to go to the bar or a table. Pompous four-eyed jerk. It wasn’t very busy for a Wednesday night. The bartender(I wish I got his name) was cool. We ordered margaritas. They were good but not strong.

My fiancé and I have come here twice in the past month and the last time we walked out without any service. Our previous visit took 15 minutes before anyone came to us when the bar was empty. This visit was worse. We came on a Friday night around 8:30. We were just going to have some drinks at the bar. The place was almost empty so there was no reason why we should not get fast service or even any service. We sat there at the bar trying to get the attention of the bartender but he was busy talking to someone. I finally asked another employee behind the bar if we could order and he said that he would get the bartender. After almost 20 minutes and no service we left. The two woman sitting next to us were also having issues getting their check. Terrible service. No excuse when the staff is clearly not busy.

Terrible service, this one bartender was rude and gave us an attitude. The place wasn’t close to closing yet and they wouldn’t let us play pool even though there was an open table. I came with a group of friends all the way from NYC to visit for the week and celebrate St. Patrick’s day. Wasn’t expecting this kind of service from such a nice city.

Came here with a group of friends and ordered veggie tacos(I don’t eat meat). When they brought the food out some food was cold and the tacos they served me were filled with carne. They took the order back and everyone finished their food. I ended up picking off their plates and not getting my meal. Will not be retuning for food at Patrons.

Oh Lord, Patron’s. I will pray for thee. If I could give –2 stars I would, HOWEVER, the convenience of the open pool tables and the quality of the mixed drinks brings you up to one star. Here’s what went down: Ordered: –BBQ pulled pork quesadilla –taco salad without cheese –dollar draft –New Fashioned –2 waters What actually happened: –BBQ pulled pork quesadilla received as ordered in a timely fashion –taco salad received without beans and without jalapenos and without cheese…17 minutes after the quesadilla for my friend arrived. I drew attention to the fact that it was not as ordered, and the bartender said he would«notify the kitchen». After another 10 – 12 minute wait(my friend has finally acquiesced to eating, and cordially offered me a bite at this point) I politely ask the bartender for a side of beans, jalapenos, and extra pico de gallo. Beans were received 10 – 12 minutes later. And corn salsa. WTF. Corn salsa? That just sounds like a porcelain god worship ritual– freaking gross! No jalapenos, but I say nothing at this point because, f*** it, I’m at a bar trying to have a good time. –dollar draft received as ordered in a timely fashion, albeit in a children’s cup. There was literally 5… perhaps 6oz. of beer in this little pee pee cup. –New Fashioned received as ordered in a less than timely fashion… it is simply in poor taste to bring people their drinks at different times. No. I’ve worked in food service. No forgiveness. –waters received as ordered in a less than timely fashion I work in biotech research; in no way am I being facetious about the liquid or time measurements. Pee pee cup for real… times 2! Dude prefaced it by saying«eh, hey, it’s dollar drafts, so…»; in that way we were prepared for mild disappointment. He(the bartender) not only had jokes on his own hustle, but was also kind enough to take the royally f****d up salad off of our bill. Oh, billiards… your sweet redemption, Patron’s.

I love this place. I go every week to play pool and the staff is always so accomodating. Service is a little slow during the weekends and nights, but that should be expected. Mixed drinks are too sweet for my liking, but they’ve got great beers and deals on not so great beers :). The terrible service I received consistently over the course of 4 years at the Sunsets had turned me off of Patron’s, but I’m glad I decided to give it a chance! It’s definitely one of my favorite bars west of Kenmore now. I also found out that their kitchen is separate from Sunset’s so I’ll be trying their food sometime as well!

We came to this place last night for New Year’s Eve and again, we were not letdown! It was an unbelievable atmosphere and there was so many people there that the vibe was excellent! The DJ was off the hook and had everyone dancing all night long, they had $ 4 cash Jell-O shots, a $ 5 all you could eat buffet(we had cash on us but one of my girls didn’t and the shot girl told us there is was an ATM downstairs, which is VERY convenient), pool, everyone was so pumped up and very nice, and it was the only bar/club around with NOCOVERCHARGE! Even regular restaurants were charging cover charges because we were going to go to eat earlier in the day and they were charging cover charges so I couldn’t believe it when there was no cover charge at the door at Patrons! Way to go Patrons! Thanks for an awesome night!

When comparing the food at Patron’s to Sunset Cantina and Sunset Grill & Tap, Patron’s falls very short because of its less extensive menu and mediocre food. However, I would rather come to Patron’s after dinner for drinks and a game of pool. The service was VERY slow, and although our server was very apologetic for the wait, the other reviews show that it’s clearly a recurring issue with the restaurant.

I’ve come here twice just for the drinks and get together… I find some areas to be really tight and some areas really empty. But for the most parts the music is loud and so are the people. I wanted food to go with my Corona Rita but it was hard to flag down a server… I think they should just change the name to Watering hole and pool party: D I have yet to see anyone order food while I was there.

Do not come here unless you want to feel extremely uncomfortable like an underage imposter. Came here with a group of friends all 26 years old or older, we understandably were IDed at the door. They scratched our IDs and held them under flashlights. We then went to the bar where we were IDed again and the bar tender broke out a book and asked a second bar tender to confirm the ID was in fact real. After 20 minutes of proving we were actually of age the bartender was so rude and made us feel like jerks for even walking through the door. Went back a few days later thinking it was an off night and the service was the exact same. Do not even bother going. Drinks were way too sugary as well. To top it all off our designated driver passed on ordering a drink so a bouncer whispered to the bartender to cut him off because he was«clearly too drunk».

Its your typical college bar, typical drunk students, typical F* you this & that but i tent, sometimes, not to mind it. We wanted to go for pool and since it was all full we left our names and number and sat at the bar, ordered some drink which mine was good but my boyfriend’s beer wasn’t foamy at all. we also ordered some boneless chicken wings and those were tasty. 15 minutes at the bar and we were called that a pool table had opened up and we had a kick ass time. I would be back, sure! why not?

A good place if you want to go out yet not stand in line at the door — there is always a table. Pros: * always a table to sit down to * good drinks * the food is actually yummy Cons: The waitstaff should really do their job better. Waited for 30 minutes for service, then another 30 for our order. Explanation? — «oh, I did not see you are sitting here».(As far as I know — they should look after ALL of their assigned tables). That said — we ordered drinks from the bar, since no one was acknowledging us — which caused a confusion with the bill. When I went to the bar to pay for the drink which wasn’t included in the bill — the girl working there was EXTREMELYRUDE. then she proceeded to double charge me. Outcome: called the manager next day. He said he will take care of the double charge. Guess what? Never did.

My girlfriend and I stopped by tonight to take advantage of a LoopedIn deal – $ 2 tacos(chicken, pork, or veggie; minimum of 3). It was a bit confusing when we came in where we were supposed to wait for a table as the host’s stand is in front of the pool table room rather than the dining area. Once we were seated we noticed that the table was so far away from the booths we had to sit on the same side and pull the table in close to us to make it work(also helped with hearing each other since it was kind of loud on a Saturday night at 8). We had to show our waiter the deal on the app to make sure they knew what we were talking about. My girlfriend got 3 chicken tacos and I asked for one of each – chicken, pork, and veggie. The food came quickly and the tacos were the size we expected– 3 small street style tacos, with tomatoes/lettuce/guacamole on the side. I tried the guac first and it was phenomenal! It tasted totally fresh – salty, tangy, all around delicious. Although I don’t typically like corn tortillas, these weren’t bad! I was happy to find they did not fall apart while eating them like most others I’ve had. The chicken taco was by far my favorite. The meat was seasoned well and I enjoyed whatever sauce was on top. Oddly enough it came with a beef taco instead of pork as listed on LoopedIn, which was fine by me, but the meat was a bit too chewy for my taste. The veggie taco was my least favorite, just because I wasn’t thinking ahead to expect zucchini, which I dislike. When we had repeated errors tying to pay with LoopedIn, the management told us the meal was on the house! It was incredibly thoughtful of them. Overall it seems like a fun(but busy) place to meet friends for apps/dinner/a drink and the manager is a really nice guy!

Note: This review and rating do not factor in the food, since I’ve never eaten here before. I always enjoyed coming here with buddies when we wanted a more relaxed night. It almost never seems as packed here as it does at Tits or White Horse, at least in terms of the top floor. There’s a nice sitting area on the far end of the bar in the second floor. I don’t know why I feel like there’s a fireplace there lol(maybe I’m just imagining having seen one). On the other end of the second floor are pool tables, and more importantly, a Foosball table. Each game costs something like a dollar in quarters, which you can get change for there. My friends and I have spent hours going back and forth between pool and Foosball in the past, whilst slowly but surely drinking ourselves into oblivion. It really is the perfect place in the Harvard Ave area to go to if you want to avoid the crowds and loud music of the other bars in the area, and want something to do besides dancing. The experiences I’ve had with the bartenders were always positive. It never takes long or much effort to get their attention to order a drink. They are also friendly and won’t pester you for tips.

NEVER, ever go to Patron’s! What in the world was I thinking coming here when Sunset is right downstairs. Patron’s food is mediocre at best. Service is always slow and forgetful. The atmosphere is meh on the best night. And the kicker… they’re the absolute biggest ripoff in all of Boston. They lie about their prices and change them on a daily basis. How is that legal? If I never, ever, go to this place again, it’ll be to freakin soon. Peace out Patron’s. Hope you’re out of business soon you can free up same for something at least average. I wish I could give you zero stars.

ATMOSPHERE –Very laid back, and usually less crowded compared to other bars like White Horse and Tavern. –A great place to go to avoid the«college scene.» DRINKS — Good beer options — Patrons is run by the same people who own Sunset Bar and Grill so the beer menu is usually similar –Prices are cheap too. A good craft beer will be between $ 5-$ 7 — The margaritas and Mojitos are also REALLY good! OVERALL — Great bar to go to for lunch, dinner, or a late night out. There is never a line to get in and there are a bunch of pool tables — BONUS!

I was forced to come here because Sunset Cantina had such a long wait time. The menu is different and has more Mexican food than American, but it’s not too different. The drink menu is pretty much the same, but they don’t have as many beer options as Sunset Cantina. My friends ordered the nachos and they were pretty good. It had a similar look, feel and taste of Sunset Cantina’s nachos so I was pleased. My friend had a burger and she said it was good as well so I don’t think the food is as bad as everyone says. Because there aren’t as many customers at Patron’s, the service is a lot better. The waitress always came over to check up on us and was around if we needed something. The sangria was alright and it fills up a lot more glasses than expected. If you’re looking for an alternative place form Sunset cantina because of the limited space, I would recommend coming in here.

The stars are for the comedians we watched perform for free. The beverage: for the love of Godzilla, get a beer. it’s hard to mess up a margarita? I’m pretty sure there isn’t any tequila In them, and blue salt. blue. salt. I wasn’t sure if it just fell in the dish soap or if it was supposed to be blue. also, it somehow tastes like chemicals. I had previously read the reviews on Unilocal, but knowing I would probably want setting to eat, while supporting our very funny friend, my boyfriend and I figured… you can’t screw up nachos. Let me tell you, you can screw up nachos. I hope to never return. I won’t even get into the service, please just read the other reviews. It’s bad. I got 2 drinks in an hour… which is fine, except I can drink like 6… and there is no. one. here. EDIT: about a second after I ordered my last beer and posted this review, our server spilled my 23oz beer on my friend. He did slept our checks appropriately and well… and he for sure meant well… but 23 oz of booze on you… is uncomfortable. I do feel bad for servers here, because if they don’t have events going on, they probably make no money and probably serve one table per night. it’s just a sad place!
