I normally can’t image I’d ever rate them so low. But then I made the mistake of THEM forgetting white rice. Hard to have Chinese without it. So I called the second I opened it because I live on the hill so I’m pretty close and they could easily drop off a small order in a matter of minutes. Instead I got a girl who I’m not sure what we were talking about she should not be working on telephone! BUTTHEFOODSTILLROCKS!!!

The décor is acceptable, they at least have free water and clean dishes, but their salmon bowl made me physically ill. What the heck kind of sauce was that? It tasted like the memory of fish sauce with a mucus and garbage aftertaste. I also had a bite of my friend’s chicken curry bowl, that tasted like«yellow bits of cooked rubber»(his words). I know I won’t be returning, and I am mad at myself for not knowing that this place was this gross. My gut misled me by not warning me against this place, and this place misled my gut by serving me some really bad food…

The food was SOGOOD. I got delivery: Egg Drop Soup(which might have been the absolute best that I have ever tasted), fried rice, and dumplings. The egg drop soup alone stunned me with how delicious it was. Delivery wait time and a pretty rude driver is the only reason I’m not putting 5 stars. Will def order again!

This is my last option for a meal around Berklee. I’m even surprised that it was the 2014 winner of Grubhub for its rice bowl and orange chicken when Terriyaki House does it 100 times better. The service here sucks and the is no care for customer satisfaction. I think the only reason why they’re still open is for their cheap prices. The cooks are always sitting outside throughout the day which doesn’t help when it comes to customers wanting to be interested in coming in. For $ 1 more, just walk down 2 more minutes and get some real food at Terriyaki or Boston Burger.

I saw the chicken teriyaki and sushi deal on the menu and figured I’d try it since it seemed like a decent deal. I’m not even sure that the chicken was actually chicken. That added to the fact that there was no taste means I won’t be back for seconds. Live and learn.

We ordered delivery at 11pm on a Wednesday night and our food arrived by 11:30(near Fenway). The delivery guy was pretty nice, just trying to get the job done. We only ordered from here because many restaurants were closed already. The lack of good food options past 10pm in Boston irritates me to no end… Yah, yah, first world problems… Whatever. I’ve been spoiled by New York. Anyway, this is not authentic chinese food by any means, but wow, what a deal! Low prices, HUGE portions, food that’s way better than many other Americanized Chinese take-out spots in the area. Scallion pancakes– soggy since they put it in a plastic container, but good taste/flavor Spicy Teriyaki Chicken Bowl– Huge portions… a lot of meat for $ 6.50! Tender thigh meat. Lo mein with Chicken– Huge portions, actually much better than the lo mein from other places. Not too much dark soy sauce, just how it’s supposed to be. Bottom line: Dirt cheap, huge portions, open later than other chinese delivery places, decent quality. Order away!

I’m in love with orange chicken but I could never seem to find a place that makes it right… Until I found this place! Their orange chicken is delicious! It had the right amount of crunch and flavor. At first I was put off by the amount of sauce they used for the chicken and how it was all over my lo mein, but after one bite I was so impressed. Quality. I wasn’t super in love with their sushi. I got a yellowtail roll and it tasted a little dry or plain. Next time I’ll skip out on sushi and try their other cooked items. They seem to have pretty good reviews too. I highly recommend the orange chicken.

Ordered the Orange Chicken rice bowl — the chicken was alright but the rice was soaked with the orange syrup, which made the entire bowl too sweet for my taste. Service was prompt and food was prepared quickly.

aite. first review in a long time. been busy. missed writing Unilocal reviews. compelled to Unilocal today. thus, today i tried something new. i walked around and saw this place«Rice Bowl» that i had driven past several times and decided to give it a shot. now i know some places get a bad rap for this or that or the other thing, so i wanted to try it firsthand. this review will only be about the CRABRANGOON… cuz that’s the only thing i ordered. i was feeling cheap and slightly hungry, and i love crab rangoon despite being a self-respecting Asian person who understands that crab rangoon is about the farthest away from being an Asian as, say… the hot dog bun that some Chinese bakeries sell. but, like the hot dog bun, it’s delicious(usually) so whatever whatever i do what i want, nahmsayin? i give the crab rangoon a solid 3 stars. contrary to one of the other reviews — which gave it 5 stars and called it the most amazing thing since, um, the hot dog bun(?) — this crab rangoon was a 3-star crab rangoon. first off, i don’t taste the crab(jk; there’s rarely crab in these things). the little snack is crispy, which is great. i like crispy stuff. this is crispy. i like it. but honestly, it’s nothing special. the cream cheese tastes alright. the duck sauce they give is decent. so while i wouldn’t call it CRAP rangoon, i also wouldn’t say it’s blow-your-mind-rangoon-4-lyfe good, ya know? so i was kinda underwhelmed. for $ 3.25, though, it’s not terrible. if i eat there again, i will update this. verdict: crab rangoon here is crispy but otherwise mediocre.

Literally one of the top places I order for takeout. They have the best crab rangoons. I really do mean the best, too. I’ve never had any rangoons that were as crispy and creamy while being totally non-greasy! It’s amazing how they do it. Our top orders usually comprise of them and some sort of bowl. I love how they have a coupon for a free teriyaki bowl with orders of $ 30 or more. We sometimes pass by just to order crab rangoon in store. Seriously.

The worst service ever!!! I tired to give them a chance because I have to admit the food is good, but at the same time at work we had order several times and there is always an issue! or they forget the free item they advertised or part of my original order. For the love of got! don’t order when is snowing or raining the delivery guy wont get of the car for nothing!!! but he will make sure to tell you you must tip him… .and yes! i will never again order from this venue…

Today my office ordered lunch from Rice Bowl. There was a big selection on the menu and it had a nice variety! I ordered the crab rangoon as an appetizer and for my main dish, brown rice with steamed veggies. When it was delivered I was surprised to see how much I got for a small price. The mean was absolutely delish!!! I mean DELISH!!! I would order from them again!

We placed an order of 2 entrées and 2 appetizers through and it took 1hr25mins to arrive. However, we were pleased that the food was still hot when it got here.

I had a craving for Chinese food on a cold winter night. I ordered through Seamless Web as I had a $ 12 off coupon. My estimate delivery was 45 – 60 min and it took longer than that. So the food was cold. The food was not good and had no flavoring. I ordered the General Gau’s chicken with fried rice. It was so bland and did not any spice or kick to the chicken. The chicken lo mein was thin noodles, no veggies and no taste appeal at all. The chicken fingers, pork dumplings and spring rolls had no flavor to them. I will not be ordering from here again ever.

I live around the corner from here so I wanted to stop in and get take out every single time I walked by. However, I hadn’t actually stopped in 3 months since moving to the neighborhood so I decided it was actually time. I ordered general Gao’s chicken to go. It had a spicy indicator on the menu so I was excited about it. When I got it, it was super hot. So I walked the three minutes home in the freezing cold. It was still hot when I started eating it. The brown rice was pretty good. Not too sticky. The chicken was syrupy sweet and not at all spicy. It’s run of the mill Chinese food. I will need to go back to try the sushi because that seems to be better. There are so many other asian restaurants around I would expect them to be top notch just for sake of competition. The service was quick and short — not exceptionally friendly. I hear they deliver but since I’m so close I can’t imagine delivery. But maybe if it’s snowing…

I was looking forward to this meal based on the good reviews. Unfortunately, I never received my food. I placed my order around 8PM and called the first time around 9:20 asking for a status update on my delivery. I was told the delivery driver was on his way. Then when I called the second time at 10:05PM, I was told the delivery driver tried to call me, which he didn’t, and since I didn’t pick up he left. He didn’t even attempt to go to the door and ring for me. So when I made the point that my phone obviously works since I was talking to them, they said they didn’t know when they would make it back to my apt to deliver my now cold food. I ended up cancelling my order. Never ordering from here again.

Rice Bowl’s niche market consists of unaware college students. Berklee and Northeastern, to be specific. It’s pretty inexpensive, and you get a filling serving of whatever you order. I imagine their stereotypical customer to be a college student living on their own for the first time, on a budget, and unable to cook for themselves. A few frozen dinners line their freezer, a gallon of milk near its expiration date in the fridge, and two different cereals(at most) sit on the counter. A mousetrap in the darkened corner of the kitchen. Okay, I’ll stop describing myself now. On recommendation from a friend, I tried the General Gao’s chicken with rice, which he marketed as «It’s my crack.» How could I not, right? Anyway, it was too sweet for me. I’m all for breaded, fried, meat doused in sweet sauce, but there is such a thing as TOO sweet. And this was it. Okay, well, I’ll try again. I got the spicy teriyaki chicken bowl. Generous on the chicken! But the spicy was simply some Sriracha on top. Alright. Not bad, Rice Bowl. I waited until trying the sushi before making my final decision. The Ocean Roll: tuna, salmon, and avocado. It was made to order; the rice was soft and the fish was fresh. Having the sesame rolled onto the outside of the roll was a nice touch that not all places care to add. Definitely satisfied my craving for sushi… while leaving me a tad bit disappointed that I hadn’t ordered another roll. Rice Bowl is pretty good, overall. The staff is friendly, and I would go here again for a quick bite.

Coming from California, maybe my expectations of good asian food were a little too high. I mean I didn’t come in with very high expectations as I just needed something quick to eat but man this was not that great at all. I got the teriyaki chicken with brown rice, aka, frozen chicken pieces that were pan fried and served with microwaved brown rice. It didn’t even taste like teriyaki chicken, more like the orange chicken I could get down the street at trader joes and even then I think it would probably taste a little better. It was all just pretty bland. Probably won’t be here again unless I REALLY need an Asian food fix or if every other restaurant in the area suddenly dies.

Aaah this place is a great place to grab a cheap bite. They do a range of rice bowls(as the name suggests) as well as sushi rolls and sushi pieces(nigiri). They don’t do squid though *welp* I got the teriyaki chicken bowl, and there’s a decent portion of meat and veges. Wait wasn’t too long. around 7 minutes(although we were there around 11:30 and it wasn’t too busy). It’s a easy place to grab a bite so don’t except anything fancy from it.
