Rustico is a great place to go and grab a sun or any lunch food! They are extremely friendly and the food is absolutely delicious! It reminds me of a subway if absolutely everything was made from scratch and all of the vegetables were homegrown! Would recommend to anyone!

I went to Rustico to get lunch to go during the week. I got a caprese salad with chicken cutlet, which cost a few dollars more. The service was friendly with about a 7 – 8 minute wait… they were busy. The salad was huge and full of fresh arugula, tomatoes, buffalo mozzarella, and the chicken cutlet pieces. Everything was drizzled with sweet balsamic dressing and accompanied by olive oil on the side. It was excellent!

Great place to get a sandwich! The chicken parm is one of the best in Boston. Nice folks, too! Even if it’s busy at lunch they do a great job and are always friendly.

This place is awesome! I’ve only had the salad and desert but it is great, and the folks that run it are spectacular

$ 13 for ravioli that was watery, very small portion, plus it was served barely warm Can’t say it was worth even half the price. Other people in the group that ordered pasta were equally unhappy The pizza looked pretty good Sub sandwiches looked ok too

I’ve had co workers try their pasta and it looked pretty waterey and bland. I’ve personally never tried their pasta but their sandwiches are ahhhhhmazing. Their classic rustico sandwich is so delicate and yummy.

I work in the West End, there are probably 20 places to have lunch or breakfast within 500 yards, 1 in my building. I come to Rustico 19 out of 20 times. Great breakfast from oatmeal buffet, to omelettes and huge breakfast sandwiches try boston so b-boy 5.50 for 3 eggs, sausage, bacon and cheese on your choice French, English or awesome bagel! Then for lunch great sandwiches or pasta or soup or ½ and ½ combos!!! Yummmm!

It is always a good sign when there’s a line out the door at lunch time. Café Rustico is a tiny restaurant with a large following. Their traditional Italian food reminds you of home cooked food. Large sandwiches and mouthwatering pastas. The first time around I got the gnocchi pomodoro and it was the best I’ve ever had. The gnocchi was perfectly made and was complemented well with the tomato sauce. The second time I got the chicken pesto sandwich. I was presented with a HUGE sandwich, crisp bread, and plenty of yummy-ness stuffed inside. It was perfect for lunch and a bit left over for afternoon snack. This place is crazy crowded during lunch. Don’t expect a quick in and out. Though the food is worth the wait. If you mention that you want to food to go, you get it packed away. As the dining room is small, I would suggest you get the to go option. The woman working behind the counter is personable, friendly, and obviously knows the regulars. She was friendly and more than willing to offer suggestions. I hear they just started serving breakfast. Can’t wait to try it out!

The staff here is always very friendly no matter how busy it gets. I come here early mornings sometimes for the B-Boy breakfast sandwich which is huge, tasty and super filling. I’ve only come here for lunch once or twice. Lobster ravioli was pretty good. Great pink sauce.

One day I ordered and they never told me that they were really backed up. I waited at least 30 minutes. That’s my entire lunch break. Very poor form. The food is good, but the pasta is expensive(minimum of$ 12), which is a lot for a take out place. Portions are good.

Yes, the food is great and the prices are right, but the real thing here is the people. They are the nicest/friendliest people I’ve ever met at a lunch place. It’s refreshing when on break from work.

If you want a casual and DELICIOUS meal, this is your spot! We got a «cup» of Italian Wedding Soup, Antipasto Salad, Lobster Ravioli and Fettuccine With Meatballs. Servings were quite generous and we were all very happy with our meals. Sauces made me want to lick the plate!

When I interned at GBLS I’d come here every single morning for oatmeal and iced coffee. Feeling kind of nostalgic I decided to stop by today — it kind of broke my heart. I had the oatmeal and iced coffee and neither were the same. The oatmeal, while clearly the same brand/type, was way too thick and the iced coffee was no where near how amazing it was 2.5ish years ago. The breakfast menu has exploded since then(when I interned they just had muffins and oatmeal on the breakfast menu) so maybe I’ll try one of those if I stop by again. The service was amazing so there’s nothing to complain about there.

2 stars given that the italian sandwich i ordered was not commensurate with its quantity/price ratio too much bread, not enough meat and other delectables on the inside of the sub

Wow, I cannot figure out all the stars for this place. It was a big greasy mess and when I fired up the iPhone for a little wifi, this is what I got: «Oh, I don’t have the password.» This after the Unilocal app says it’s free. If you don’t have the password that means you don’t have it for anyone who asks. My visit was fairly early in the morning and the place was already dirty. I was the only one there so it wasn’t like they had trouble getting to it. I’m not not sure how lunch is but if breakfast is any indication, I’m assuming not very good. Everything is super cheap though but I don’t really need that much of a tradeoff. My omelet wasn’t really an omelet but more like a scramble. Everything was in there that was supposed to be but other than that it’s nothing to write home about. They were very friendly when I told them I was lost though and gave me directions on where to find the subway and how to get to my destination. Service was ok and she managed to smile and brighten up my morning. It’s scary being new to the area and lost. I may in the future decide to give them another try if I’m in the area. Breakfast spots are few and far between if you’re looking for table service. If not I’m sure there are plenty of options in the area.

Only a couple minutes walking from my work place, Café Rustico is a great little Italian restaurant. Prices are fair(~$ 10) and portions are fairly large. And you get delicious bread as a free appetizer. The first time I went, I got the gnocchi. It came with this tomato sauce with this cheese deliciously swirled in. Absolutely delicious on a cold, rainy day. I came here again the next day and ordered the cheese ravioli with regular sauce vs the meat sauce. It was also delicious but the sauce wasn’t as great at the gnocchi sauce! The servers I had both times were polite and sweet. Service is relatively quick. A great place for a weekday lunch!

Good services and a decent omelette make for a four star breakfast combination. The fifth star would be there if they had better coffee. It’s no café so i didn’t expect a prefect hand-poured artists cup, but ai’d like a little more of a kick in the ass from my coffee. At least buy Dunkins or Starbucks.

I go to Rustico once and awhile for lunch and I’ve never been disappointed. The staff is super friendly, they’re efficient and quick at what they do. The food is delicious and the line is never out of control(not that they are not busy, but the staff is able to move it along). If your in the neighborhood and want a quick lunch this place is great. There isn’t a lot of seating, but in the warmer months they have some additional seating in the front of the building. It’s worth a stop!

I’m a fan of the food. Only thing holding me back from dropping in more frequently is that there’s no place to sit down and eat during lunch — really way too cramped — makes ordering and picking up a pain, too.

Stuck between Mulligan’s and Boston Common Café(and the other café that I don’t recall), Rustico is a small Italian spot that offers mediocre food. Breakfast and lunch open until 4. It gets a big crowd, but it just so happens to be in a busy area. I got the Ortagi sub and was hoping for something marvelous. Well, it was good, but just not what I expected. For $ 8, I was hoping a little bigger, different cheese and a little more flavor. Everything was cooked well, couldn’t complain about that. I wish they offered more vegetarian/pescetarian items! I’d go there more.

I love this place and wish it were open for dinner on non-game nights as well, but whatever. The rustico has to be my favorite sandwich here, and I’ve been coming back to this place, even though for most of the last 7 years it’s been horribly out of the way, just for this. Prosciutto, arugula, olive oil, mozzarella… I have no idea what else is in there,(it really could just be a dab of salted butter on the bread), but the entire thing is awesome. Soups are very very generously portioned. The butternut squash was awesome. Tried the lobster ravioli once on a whim and like everything else, it’s so much better than you might suspect.
