My partner and I were super excited to find a place that offered all-you-can-eat sushi, even if it is only one night a week! We ordered three rounds, as they only let you order a certain amount per round. The sushi came out quickly and looked beautiful, and our server was very attentive. I’m only giving 3 stars because we found that while everything tasted fine, the sushi was mostly rice in many cases and there was no option for sashimi in the AYCE menu. We’ll definitely be giving this place another try though! Hopefully this time the rolls will highlight the fish instead of the rice.

This is my go to lunch spot during the work week. I come here about 1−3x a week. Everything tastes fresh and I’ve gotten an assortment of meals here before(not all at once) — sashimi lunch special, 3 roll special, salmon avocado handroll, passion roll. The food is a bit pricey; my bill usually comes to $ 20. Only thing that I would caution is the wait time during lunch service. From 12 – 2, especially on Fridays, it can get pretty packed so I recommend ordering your meal for pick up ahead of time.

Dropping another star… I decided to give them another chance today and ordered take-out. I ordered 2 lunch specials, one maki combo that should come with miso soup and a salad(according to the menu online as well as the dine-in menu) and a katshu don. When I got back to my office, I noticed that they ONLY gave me ONE miso soup! That miso soup came with the katshu don which is fine. What happen to the salad and miso soup that should have been included with the maki combo order? Moral of the story: check your takeout order before you leave the place! The sushi was ok, it was way better before. My colleague said that the katshu don was ok as well but the portion is small for the price. Food: 3 stars Service: 2 stars

The food was delicious. I got a lunch special Maki of Spicy Tuna and Samon Avocado that comes with someone salad and miso soup, and paid only $ 16 with taxes and tips. The staff was very nice and friendly as well! Great lunch break food!

I have been to Sakura-Bana a few times for lunch during the workweek. The food is pretty good but a bit expensive. In contrast, though, the Saturday evening all-you-can-eat sushi is a great value. For $ 25, they offer several hot appetizers, rolls, and sushi — they even offer uni and toro(limited to two pieces per person, however). The portions are very generous. Special rolls are an additional $ 1, but even so, it is a good deal. I will definitely go back for all-you-can-eat!

The financial district in Boston is dead at night. There are few places to eat. Luckily, Sakura Bana was open for dinner. I called in advance to place an order for pick up. My food was ready when at the time requested. There were a few people dining in. I ordered the Sushi Favee– a combination of tuna, salmon, yellowtail, shrimp, eel etc and California roll. I tried the tuna tornado for my appetizer(tuna and avocado wrapped in cucpmber). The food was ok. Just ok.

This sushi restaurant is a little gem in the Financial District. It’s not fancy and often smells like strong cleaning materials, but the sushi is very fresh and they know how to do it right. Sit in the upstairs dining room. Downstairs is depressing. They have great lunch options and it’s fast. But get there early– it’s busy. Take out is always right and on time. Dinner is always quiet so you can get a table for sure. Tips on what to order: tuna tornado, spicy toro roll, orange roll. Also, they have a brown rice option and it’s excellent.

Great sashimi, sushi and maki. Quick service during lunch hour, fish tasted fresh. Sushi rice cooked perfectly.

Pretty much *the* sushi place for lunch in the financial district. It gets pretty crowded here during the lunch rush but there’s seating upstairs and downstairs. Their lunch menu is a pretty good deal and comes with a good amount of food — they’ve got sushi mixes and also some hot bento and udons. The bento boxes are pretty large, but for some reason they come with deep fried shumai instead of steamed shumai, which I’m not really fond of. Additionally they have a good selection of individual nigiris and special rolls. Everything tasted pretty fresh, and service is good. I’m having a hard time writing a review for Sakura-bana because it’s just so average. Even though I’ve been to Sakura-bana a bunch, nothing really stands out and I can barely remember what dishes they had. There isn’t anything particularly good or bad from every other sushi place I’ve ever been to. Inoffensive, fresh and reasonably priced sushi lunch.

Good sushi. Definitely higher than average pricing because of the area. Skip the appetizers– they weren’t anything special and a bit under seasoned compared to other places. They have both an upstairs and downstairs, only seat full parties when everyone has arrived, and typical menu options that include lunch special and bentos. Compared to grocery store sushi, this is definitely a step-up– but for the price, I may skip next time.

I wasn’t too sure if this place was good near my hotel in Boston. Well, it was better than I expected. The sushi was actually pretty good and the salmon and tuna was very fresh! It’s Japanese owned and the only minus was that service was a bit slow. You’d think coming to Boston you should have seafood, but unfortunately, I’m allergic to shellfish. Oh well…

This is a decent place for sushi lunch. I go there about once a month, but only because I had not found out about Avana. This place has a decent selection of rolls, but none of them are worth coming back for. Also it is way over priced and the service is horrible. If you are going to be a good sushi place in the financial district you need to pay attention to your guests who have an hour lunch and are asking for the check. We sat around for 10 minutes trying to get the attention of someone, several people looked at us and said one second before anyone actually came over.

This place is nothing fancy just s place in financial area to grab sushi if your in the area. I wouldn’t tracked here for the food. That said the food was pretty good. I work around here and was starving. The Triple Fish, salmon, tuna, white tuna was the best thing I ate. Fresh and the sauce with it was excellent. Would Come back just for that. Also has fried tofu, I like my fried tofu crispy on outside, this was soft and sauce with us wasn’t very flavorful. In addition had Rockin Roll, spicy tuna and salmon sashimi. All ok nothing wrong but none were exceptional. Again if your in the area and want a casual quick sushi meal this is your place. Good eating!

I’ve ordered takeout from Sakurabana a couple of times, and whenever I pick up my food, I notice that the place smells overpoweringly of cleaning products. It’s not a particularly appealing interior either; I think if they improved the lighting it would really help, as it is not appealing right now. The service is great; very friendly staff, and my food has always been ready before the quoted time. They are also one of the few places open after 5PM in the Financial District. The food itself is okay but hugely overpriced. A lunch special costs around $ 12, which is about $ 3 more than other nearby options. The amount of food is not that generous either. Finally, the quality of the ingredients is not very high: browned avocado, limp lettuce, that sort of thing. I’ve never gotten sick from the raw fish though.

Our review is specifically for the all you can eat sushi dinner on Saturday nights from 5−8pm for $ 25/person. Sakura Bana is located in the Financial District, which is a ghost town on a Saturday night so it has never been crowded here. We always make reservations just in case, but they definitely are not necessary. For all you can eat sushi, all the rolls are fresh and pretty high quality. They have an extensive menu of appetizers and rolls to order that are included in the all you can eat price. The spicy tuna tataki is absolutely delicious; we each normally order 2 because 1 doesn’t quite satisfy the craving. The spicy tuna roll is a classic; the sakura bana roll is really great because it has seaweed salad inside of it — have never seen this on a menu before. The spicy green roll is also pretty unique and has a great wasabi flavor. Service is also speedy and has never been a problem. Will definitely be back at Sakura Bana for all you can eat sushi, but wish they would extend the deal to a Friday night as well. Come hungry and be prepared to leave in pain from being so stuffed!

Just had lunch here, I ordered: Lunch box Spicy Chicken Teriyaki Service was shockingly horrible! They served me 5 small pieces of chicken & they were rubbery when you chewed on… I thought I was hallucinating but as I continued chewing the chicken pieces, it kept getting worse! On the last two chicken pieces I couldn’t even bite down to break it apart so I called the waitress and told her about it. They asked me why I continued to eat it if it was rubbery, I explained I had 12 minutes left on my lunch and that I was starving. I also explained that I ignored the 3 rubbery chicken pieces but the last two I couldn’t ignore it because I was not able to bite down on it. They called the manager, manager didn’t show up. The waitress ends up telling me that they can’t do anything about it. I tried to explain that I didn’t want a refund but I was hoping I could just get two pieces of protein so that can be full as I was starving BUT the waitress didn’t give a damn. She told me there is nothing they can do for me. Wow!

Was seated in the basement last week and had an inch+ roach run under our table. Food and service were fine, but they definitely have a roach problem.

Spicy gyoza — it was okay.. have had better. Not really spicy Halloween roll — too much cream cheese. Did not finish this one Scallop roll — excellent! Rainbow roll — it wad okay.. Some rolls were a little too mushy, but overall not bad. Very fast and friendly service
