It’s solid pizza that I can’t complain about. The slices are deceptive. One slice essentially equals 2 so you’ll be good with one. The sweet chili chicken is my go to and it’s such a good combination of flavor. I’m not a big pizza guy buy I’m a big fan of Sal’s. There are no seats so it’s mean for the Bostonian on the go.

Delicioso! I’m a fan. I ruined my health-kick by stopping in here after class(grad school… it ruins the best of intentions) and was delighted to find huge slices for a cheap price. Not the world’s most amazing pizza, but it’s convenient, well-priced, and tasty.

This place is right around the corner from where I live so its really convenient when I don’t want to make dinner or don’t have time to. Their slices are large and for $ 5 it’s definitely worth it. The service was good, the guy behind the counter was really nice and helpful!

One slice is actually two slices! They do cut it down the middle for you so it’s easier to consume. During my first time here, I was torn between different topping combos. They had pepperoni and banana peppers, bacon Ranch chicken, pepperoni and mushroom, sweet chili sausage… Even the plain cheese pizza looked good. I went with the sweet chili sausage. It was very pleasant. The chili wasn’t too overwhelming and it complimented the spice of the sausage. The trust was thin and chewy with a light crisp. I also tried the plain cream mini canolli for dessert. I’m not a huge fan of canollis but I’ve been eager to find one that I actually really like. I’m happy to say I finally found it here at Sal’s Pizza. It’s mini but it suffices. Yay! Great place for Emerson College students. It’s very close to the college. There are no seats. It’s standing at counters only. I’ve never eaten this way before so it’s quite a dining experience.

Good thin crust pizza. I asked for a cheese slice, which is 2 good sized pieces. The crust was very good, fresh tasting, similar to a not salty pretzel dough. It has good mouth feel and isn’t too chewy. It is the most noteworthy part of the pizza. The cheese was meh. The sauce for surprisingly bland. I look forward to trying some other Boston Pizza institutions.

I had a salad here while my kids got pizza. The pizza was ok — very average but the chicken on the salad was absolutely disgusting. It looked like it had freezer burn. I had to throw it away as there was no way I was eating that. The service is terrible too — I understand I ordered a salad at a primarily pizza place — but they do have it and several salad options on thier menu. They just *forgot* about my salad for almost 20 mins and then put it together only at repeated asking(and then I got the nasty chicken on it). I wouldn’t recommend going here!

Stopped by here for the first time after the parade today. They had a great selection of pizza by the slice. I went with cheese and a 20 oz bottle of coke which came to 5.76 if I remember correctly. The«slice» was really 2 slices of what a standard large eight slice pizza would be. The cheese, sauce and crust were excellent, however the crust was thick at the edge, too thick in my opinion. If the edge of the pizza had smaller crusts I’d make it a point to come by more often. There is no seating at this location but room to stand and lean if you want to eat there. On a hot summer day like today I’d say to avoid this place because their air conditioner is horrible. It was cooler outside than in the store. Overall not bad, but nothing really to make me come back again except if I were walking by and in the mood for a quick slice.

My favorite pizza place in Boston. I have tried a lot of pizza places after moving here from New York. Lots of options to choose from. I have tried buffalo chicken, bbq chicken and cheese, all were amazing. Now that I work around the corner, it’s my go to lunch spot.

I had always liked Sal’s pizza in the past, but I had a very bad experience with them yesterday: 1. I ordered for a business meeting of 12 people. Unfortunately, they do not have 2 liter bottles of soda available — they only have 12 ounce cans at a cost of $ 1.99 each. I bit the bullet and ordered 12 drinks, thinking at least they would be cold. Wrong. The sodas all arrived very warm. 2. They did not provide any plates, forks, knives or napkins. 3. The pizza itself, though tasty, had way too much crust on it. It seemed they were trying to skimp on the tomato sauce and cheese.

I loved the pizza. About $ 5 for a fourth of a New York style pizza. The crust is great, easy to eat while walking. The Tremont location is prefect for going across the street to the common or a little further to the garden. Many toppings available for a quick lunch.

I will say that you get your money’s worth at Sal’s. $ 5 essentially gets you 2 slices of pizza. My problem is that the pizza was totally unremarkable. Although they heat the pizza for you in the oven after you order, it still tastes like it’s been sitting out for a while. I got the buffalo chicken pizza. The cheese was tasty, but the rest of it was really just ok. The crust was thick, but really hard and not very flavorful.

Good pie. Prices are reasonable — good crust. The sauce makes it rich deep flavor not too heavy on the cheese. Def one of the better pizza places I’v tried. Service is friendly– NY style pies–

Being across from Boston Commons, this place wins in convenience. With 10 pies on the glass and barely anywhere to sit, this place probably gets the majority of its business through walk by slice eaters, case in point: myself. -=-Mushroom Sausage Jalapeño Slice-=- One slice was enough for 2. They were happy to cut it in half for us. I can’t say it was the best pizza I’ve had in Boston, but it was a good fix. With most of the ingredients and toppings forgetful, this place probably shines by its crispy crust. As per common procedure, Sal’s dumped our slice back into the oven to crisp it up. I walked down back into Boston Commons with my slice of pizza, and a stomach to hold off till dinner.

Like my favorite, Goodfellas in Lexington, Sal’s offers huge, interesting slices and friendly service for a cheap price. Love it.

Came here again and it definitely earned the stars. Last time I had the pizza cold(I had taken it to eat later was in fridge) and it was delicious! Now having it warm, it was out of this world. Really glad i found this place, my only gripe is that there was no seating(was tired of walking and couldn’t stand another minute standing). At least the pizza makes up for this! One of the pizzas that were really good was the sweet chili chicken? Pepperoni and mushrooms was good too. If you really want to sit down go to the commons across the street and sit on a park bench or just take your food to go. Either way definitely worth it.

Really good pizza! Not sure how I went 3 years living in Boston before discovering Sal’s. It seems like there’s one in just about every neighborhood which is great. Their slices are large and delicious and the dough is the perfect combo of chewy and crispy. Mmm! Stop in for a slice and you won’t be disappointed.

Wouldn’t give me a cup of water. I’m fairly sure that’s against the law. The food itself is overpriced and not very good. This is one franchise riding high off it’s fame while it sinks into mediocrity.

I love Sal’s pizza… The dough, the song, the manager! The pizza dough is thick and gooey, like fresh warm Italian bread. Each slice is one quarter of a large pie. The deal: Sals has the biggest and best slice in town!

Every time I go to a new city, I try the pizza first. I cannot live without good pizza. Sal’s is in a convenient location, and the price is great for what you are given. Two huge slices of pizza for around $ 5(Give or take for toppings). I got the buffalo chicken pizza, which wasn’t too spicy, and it was nice and tangy. On a nice day, go eat in the Boston Common. It’s nice to enjoy the sun and eat your pizza while relaxing on a park bench. People will be asking you where you got the giant slices of pizza.

I have to admit this review is coming from the heart of a hardcore pizza lover. If it’s got cheese, sauce, and is on thin crust I am generally a happy camper but Sal’s does something wonderful. To be honest, these stars are not for their cheese or their pepperoni pizza. Taste wise, they are pretty mediocre. These five stars are because of size and specialty slices. Each«slice» of Sal’s pizza is really two slices of pizza so two slices is four slices and three slices is a food coma. I love their barbecue chicken pizza and any of the margherita-esque slices they display in that glass case of deliciousness. All you have to do when you walk in is stare at the case, make the unbelievably hard choice of which type you want(they usually have about 6 different pies with anything from 1 — 3 toppings) and then wait for them to slide your individual choices into the oven so it comes out piping hot and gooey. This particular location is not sit down. Just grab and go with a side bar near the window where you and your elbows can hunker down to mow down on a slice or two. The service is always friendly and fast and I love asking the employees which type is their favorite for the day. They are always honest and helpful and not trying to sell you the most expensive slice they have * cough(upper crust) cough*. For slices, Sal’s is pretty reasonable prices, not the cheapest by a long shot but around 4 – 6 dollars depending on your topping amount. A whole pie is really on the pricey side and if your really hungry just order two(four) slices and you should be fine. I really want to give this Sal’s five stars but when it comes down to it, their plain cheese really isn’t that grand and that says something about a pizza place. But they still have awesome deliciousness on a crust so, four it is.
