Walked down on a Sunday morning at 9AM ish… doors were locked. Called to see if they were open. The owner(Spanish looking guy with short hair) picked up the phone and said he was. I walked back down there… Doors were locked. This was the last straw. In previous times the owner tried charging me an Xtra $ 3 when I ordered Xtra Steak on my Breakfast Sandwich when 2 Out Of 5 times he only Charged me $ 1.50. I let it slide in the past. When I called him out on it THIS time, he was looking at his OWNMENU acting stupid after I TOLD him he was clearly overcharging me. Nice try pal. Won’t be back.

Terrible service!!! Definitely wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Servers have a ad attitude. Kept chatting as food is being prepared. After paying, instead of a «thank you, have a great day!», I got a «here take it»(my food). What happened to the friendly smiling server that Subway shows on their commercial???

The service was horrible… I usually have an ok time at most Subway’s… the bread was stale and burnt. I would go here again as a last resort — good thing there are better restaurants around the area.

Today when I went in to get a sub on my break, the three employees were sitting in the customer seating area, talking and playing with their phones. I understand the temptation to hang out when it’s slow, but their reaction to me, a paying customer, walking in and wanting service just boggled me. Instead of jumping up and making me a sub, they sat on their asses and argued among themselves about who had to «work». Eventually one guy gets up to help me, after which the girls turned to me to say«we worked all day, it’s his turn.» Mind you, this is on a Sunday, when they’re getting paid extra just to be there. Terrible, terrible service.

This is a sad, tiny space and the food is no better. The other reviews cover the important bases, though I do want to mention that I got exactly 2 cucumber slices on my 6 inch sandwich. One last note: this is one of those franchise locations that doesn’t partcipate in the national promotions, so the $ 5 footlongs are limited.

I’ve been to this subway multiple times and each time the sandwich was poorly made(even the simple ones). I’m not going to say much about the food itself, because it’s Subway it’s the same no matter which one of these joints you go to. The service on the other hand is horrendous, the people who work here have gotten my order wrong many times and are rude. The staff is very slow so don’t go here if you are in a hurry. Needless to say, I won’t be back here.

The chain gets a 5 for me. This particular location gets a 1. I’ll even it out to a 3. Loooves me a veggie delight with everything(hots too!), on untoasted Italian herb & cheese bread, with american cheese and chipotle southwest sauce, plus a side of buffalo sauce for dipping. It’s actually one of my favorite things. Howeeeever, this location is slow, often incompetent, and sometimes even attitude-y. And I’m pretty sure they don’t have soup. BOO. Actual conversation from this past weekend(on a lonely, hungover, and sad Sunday) when I got to the veggie part of the counter: –What vegetables would you like? –All of them, except cucumbers. -*reaches for the cucumbers* –No, no cucumbers. –Wait, so what do you want? –Everything but cucumbers. -*puts on lettuce, tomato, and onion* Anything else? –Yes. Everything else. -*puts on green peppers* Anything else? –Yes. I want the hots and the black olives and the spinach. Everything. –I already put black olives on it.(she didn’t but I was exhausted… I just let it go after that) -(at the counter) …Wait, so what was on that sandwich? Fin.

Just as a preface, I’m actually rather ashamed to admit I even walked into this place, but I had this incredible craving for a cheap BLT one day and it was right there in front of me. Yes, I know. I am better than this. I promise it won’t happen again. From my previous experiences just walking by the place on my way to Whole Foods, I noticed two distinct repeat-customer types: police officers and drunk college students. In fact, they are probably the only reason a little hole-in-the-wall location like this stays open. On the fateful day I walked in and decided to order something, I got the police officers. Well, to be specific, I got ONE police officer, with a mile-long list that apparently wasn’t well written because he kept calling his partner to ask for corrections on sandwich toppings. I should have just left right then and there. I could have gone down to Whole Foods, bought the bacon and lettuce and tomato, and made the damn sandwich myself before I got to order. But no, I just can’t get out of a line I’ve already been waiting in, and so I continued to stand there while the one underpaid employee behind the counter tried to keep up. Eventually I managed to get out of there with a BLT in hand, which later turned out to be awful(what was I expecting, right?), and my unpredictable Subway craving of the year was quickly put to rest.

Once excellent, but is now a sub par, sad excuse for a go to for a cheap, delicious sandwich. Service sucks, ingredients are old, rude and blasé staff. I’ll likely never go back here. I suggest you go to Anna’s or Whole Foods instead.

Here’s something funny. I decide to go to the Subway on Beacon Hill for a sandwich before the Celtics game. Even though I’ve been there half a dozen times, I check Unilocal to see the reviews because this website has now entirely taken over my life. I saw that it was sitting on a current 1.5 star rating. «Wow,» I exclaimed out loud. «Why’s everyone sipping on the Hatorade?» Sure, it’s not gourmet, but as far as fast food goes you could do a lot worse. It beats McDonalds or Taco Bell in terms of taste and healthfulness. I immediately wrote a 3 star review defending its honor. Mere hours later, I was sitting in there eating a disgusting attempt at a sandwich cursing myself. I knew I needed to go back online and change a review less than 24 hours old. The Sandwich Artist, giving off a «machine gun-toting extra in a martial arts movie» vibe, practically demolished the bread while cutting it and then tossed it in the oven immediately after hastily throwing meat and cheese on it. «Do you want it toasted,» he asked after it was almost done in the oven. «Looks like I do,» I replied. He took the now crispy sandwich out and sloppily dressed it, and didn’t fold it over before wrapping it. The results resembled a quasi-impressionist version of Madagascar. This is what happens when I’m nice to people and things. Fate punches me in the face with a gross sandwich.

After having gone to this Subway a good deal, I realize now that it needs some major work. A few thoughts: 1. Don’t leave the new guy there on his first night by himself. I mean, really. I went by on Saturday evening(the exact sort of evening one would expect to have Suffolk kids looking for some pre-fun grub), and they’ve got one guy, who lets me know when I’m trying to order the combo that it’s his first night. All things considered, he got me my stuff, but it was an unorganized mess. 2. On another point, why is there usually only one person making sandwiches here? I can understand if someone is off to the side processing orders and doing payments, but sometimes that isn’t the case. This place can get insane without more than one person, experienced or not. I’ve seen lines nearly out the door. You need more people here. 3. I’ve seen them run out of stuff before. I’m sorry, but you have to be ready for those sorts of things, particularly college students. It’s convenient for me, and it’s nice to walk down to Cambridge Street, but with Anna’s just down the street, as well as a whole panoply of other food options, I can get food for comparable prices without the insanity. It has potential, but it has to shape up. I may be back, but work needs to be done.

Worst run Subway I have ever been too. Went at lunch time and spent a half an hour in a 5 person line. The shop is the size of a closet so the line built to the point where when you finally paid it was a mosh pit to exit. There were 5 people behind the counter so I gave my order to 5 different people and still it did not come out right and when I went to pay the cashier couldn’t figure out how to use a Subway cash card. First and last time for me to go there.
