good place for a guys haircut, the price and location are right. the place and was clean and the staff was nice.

I’ve been going to Helen for a long time (ask for helen !!), truly, well worth any kind of wait.
this place is super busy, but that’s what happens when you go to a place with skilled workers, there’s a line, there’s a wait, you can’t expect to go eat at a nice restaurant without a reservation right? Sometimes scheduling can get tough so call early and show up early, you’ll be happy with the results, it won’t be like ticket master when you’re trying to buy a&b acoustic tickets at 1 pm and it’s sold out by 1:01 pm

Biggest mistake I’ve ever made. After reading over the comments about how excellent this location was I was feeling confident about trying it for the first time. Oh how wrong I was. After throughly explaining how I wanted my hair to be cut and showing 3 different pictures for references… I got the exact opposite. It’s about 4inches shorter than I expressed I was comfortable going. It’s incredibly crooked and uneven. Seeing the results brought tears to my eyes. It’s such a bad cut that all I can do is wear it in a ponytail until it grows out. I walked in with incredibly long beautiful hair and left with a bowl cut and crying. Needless to say I will never go here for a haircut again.

Summary: Are you a masochist who enjoys getting a runaround? If so, you’ll love trying to schedule an appointment with this SuperCuts store.
In spite of the fact that I really like one particular stylist at this store, and would love to get my hair cut by her regularly, they are 110% incompetent in managing their appointments.
A few weeks ago I had an appointment, and showed up to discover with amusement that 2 other people in the waiting room were scheduled at the same time with the same stylist.
Today’s episode that put me over the edge played out like this: I made an appointment. An hour or so later they called to say WHOOPS they were double booked, and asked me to reschedule, which I did. Then they called back again a few minutes later to say that the NEW time also wouldn’t work, and suggesting I call back the next morning at 8am.
Uh, no. Good bye.

Based on all the reviews here, I made an appointment with Helen and I was not disappointed. I love my haircut and will be coming back because of her!

I went here on Sunday for a quick trim. I have been growing my hair out for almost a year and it was finally the length i wanted, but the ends were starting to split. I told her to trim 1 inch, maybe even ½ an inch and take the layers up 3 since they had grown out. She hacked off 6 inches. They layers were also not woven in properly and left my hair looking like a Frankenstein monster that was half layer half who knows what.
The worst was that I didn’t even notice it was so terrible until after I got home as I was instructed to not wear my glasses as she was cutting. Even my boyfriend who is extremely generous with compliments told me it looked bad. I am going back to a family friend who lives out of the city tonight to get it corrected, but each day when i get out of the shower, before I put my hair into a ballerina bun I actually cry quite a bit since it will take the better part of a year to get the length back.

Not to make these reviews sound like a broken record, but I just saw Helen for the first time, and she is fantastic at what she does. I paid $ 22.50 + tip for a shampoo, cut, and blow dry, but it honestly looks like I paid $ 80. I was nervous because it was a riskier hair cut than I am accustomed to, but she totally put me at ease, gave me an amazing cut, and finished with some fantastic hair care tips for my hair type and new style. I will definitely be going back.

I have never written a review on Unilocal before but my experience at supercuts on Boylston was just too good to not share.
I usually have a fear of getting haircuts because a request for 2 inches cut off always ends up becoming 5 inches. But Adrianna was super careful with cutting my hair and clarified many times asking exactly how I wanted the haircut. The only strange part was that this was my first time getting a haircut standing up. But overall I am very happy with my haircut. And I will definitely be going back and requesting Adrianna again.

So, I need a quick fix. Just to thin out my hair after getting a long bob haircut. I opted for Helen, since I’ve read so many great reviews on her. Also, I needed something really cheap, since I’m trying to restrain myself from spending too much for my summer vacation.
Anyways, I DID NOT feel like I was at a Supercuts at all. She gave me so many tips on how to take care of my hair, and suggested what I should do to it, and walked me through with everything she was about to do to my head full of hair. She was so informative that I felt like I was at an upscale salon.
After being very hesitant, felt at ease. She’s great at what she does and I am so happy that I came here instead of spending loads of money at a different salon.

I liked my haircut. Descent haircut. Everything was fine, the wait, the cut and the treatment. the only thing that was weird was that they asked for additional 10 dollars to dry my hair. when I arrived, my hair was dry so I expected leave as I entered. they sprayed water to my hair to make it wet to cut it but at the end I did not expect to leave the store with wet hair. I had a headache for the rest of the day b/​c of not drying the hair.

As has been noted many times in these pages, Helen is great. To get your hair cut with her, you need to call in advance and put in a request. Helen keeps me looking great and even tells me where all the beautiful women hang out.

I went today for the first time and I am very happy with it. Before coming here I tried other cheap places in Boston but the service was terrible.
I don’t know the name of the girl who cut my hair but she was amazing. She was nice, polite and friendly and before cutting she checked with me the it was what I wanted.
I’m not a big fun of hairdressers and I don’t care that much about my hair so I’m looking for a cheap place and for $ 15.99 this is the best you can get in Boston. Give $ 3 tip so I ended up paying $ 20 but I would have paid also $ 30 because she was very professional. Again I don’t know the name. She was about 30 years old, blond and very nice. You won’t be disappointed?

I was trying to cut my hair by myself, but I screwed up so much. So I went to here, and they fixed it pretty well. Can’t complaint about anything. Everyone was friendly, so I believe you will have a good time while you are in there.

Go to Helen, she’s the best. I’m Korean and have straight, very fine hair that is very dense. I think the term is very high ‘follicles per square inch’. I’ve been to many expensive salons, but I think they don’t do any better than the mall salons. Helen understands Asian hair texture (round hair) and current styles.
2 years ago, I thought I’d try this place — why not, right? At the time, I had mid-​back length hair, with a deep side part and long bangs. I just wanted a trim The older woman (maybe latina (?) with short curly hair) who cut my hair parted it in the middle and then cut it without trying to blend it, So, when i parted my hair on the side, it looked TERRIBLE! Like a I had a shelf of hair on one side that was much shorter than the rest of the hair. Because I’m not a complainer, I paid and left. Later that day, I looked in the mirror and absolutely hated it and was embarrassed to go to my professional job sporting such a hack-​job. I went to another salon in the Pru to ask if they could fix it, but they lost a customer when they directed me to go back to the salon that did it.
So, back to Supercuts I trudged, the original woman who cut my hair was gone, thank god, but Helen immediately saw what was wrong and did the best she could to fix it without completely chopping off all of my long hair. I was so impressed by Helen’s attention to detail and willingness to assess the best hair shape for me, I’ve been going to her since then.
Helen does the best job on my hair that I’ve ever gotten, and I cannot believe she is so inexpensive. I always tip 120% because that is what I can afford, even though I feel Helen’s hair cuts are worth much more than that!

(At the risk of making the waits to see her even more legendary than they are) hands down, Helen is the best hairstylist I’ve ever had. Brilliant at her work and putting her best effort in each time (have been enjoying her work for years now – a fantastic track record for my temperamental hair!), there’s no one I’d rather trust. The incredible price is icing on the cake. Thank you, Helen! Your art is much appreciated!

I have a favorite hair stylist here (that I will not name because I don’t wanna share sorry haha). She does a great job every time I come in. I try and make an appointment whenever I can so I don’t have to wait — it can get super busy sometimes. But even with appointments you still have to wait 5 – 10 mins sometimes. Still for a $ 20 haircut, you can’t complain!

Clearly, you get what you pay for, and I should have known better than a $ 16.99 haircut. However, I was out running errands and decided to drop in for a quick trim. My hair is straight and very simple to cut; this was not a fancy request! The hairstylist (who had purple hair) acted like she had never given a haircut before. Asked me to stand up during the cut, and then gave me a mirror to check out the back of my hair. It looked uneven! I told her, «It looks uneven to me, «and her response was, «Oh.» No offer to remedy it; nothing. The girl at the counter never asked me how my service was. I pulled out my card to pay and she immediately asked about gratuity. I stated that my hair was uneven, and she again didn’t apologize or offer a remedy. I grabbed my coat and left in search of another salon. Terrible customer service. I would give this place no stars at all if that were possible.

I’m going to give big props to Helen. She is a hair goddess. She has many years of experience and just by sitting in the chair with her for five minutes, you know you’re in good hands. She’s really sweet, knowledgable, quick, meticulous and understands how your hair works. Back in April, I went to her to get my hair dyed a certain brown color (single process) and she explained to me how it would turn out if I did it that way and what not. Said it would actually take many attempts to get it to the way it was in the picture. Anyways, I trusted her and she managed to get my hair color exactly how she described it (based on my skin tone and all that jazz) the very first time and I LOVED it. My manager from work actually gets her hair done by her and recommended Helen to me. When Helen found that out, she asked me if the shade of brown she does on my manager was what I wanted too, and I said yes. She explained the process thoroughly and she is very precise on the timing of the dye. Never have I been happier to find a hairdresser who I know will be consistent and caring about my own hair than I am myself.
I went back recently to retouch on my roots that were coming out and chop my hair short and Helen did a great job. She was actually really busy with clients back to back (I’m not surprised) so the girl in front told me there would be a 30 minute wait. I told them I didn’t mind anyone else doing my hair as long as they pulled up my color card that I remember Helen had written down for me, but I guess they couldn’t find it and ended up making me wait for Helen anyway. Wish they told me though because I would’ve stepped out to grab a small snack at like Walgreens or coffee at DD; I was starving. All in all, it was so worth the wait!

Helen is AMAZING!
She definitely knows her craft and is super knowledge about hair!!! She is a shear genius!
My boyfriend Joey and I have been going to her for a while now and with two completely different haircuts and type of hair she always nails it and does an amazing job!
She is quick, informative, and by far the nicest and most talented stylist in the salon!
She also advised us to buy some of the Paul Mitchell products they carry and after purchasing them and starting to use them we loved the results!

I came here tonight before my gymmy-​gym workout, got a great haircut!
I got my usual dry cut, and had layers added in. The thought of paying more for a «fancypants haircut» is super unappealing… I don’t know how much I paid but I tipped 10 bux to the lady who cut my hair.
Five Stars! I love a great value!
