They’ve been closed for over a year. I’m really disappointed. They had pretty good chili although I’m sure it was not made from scratch. Which leads me to ask, why can’t somebody in Boston make decent chili?

A while back I got a gift certificate from work to go here for lunch. I’ll give them three stars for the friendly service, and the fact that I hear their icecream/froyo is worth the stop. I’ll update if I ever get the chance to try it. However, I went for lunch. I got a ‘baked’ falafel sandwich. The falafel was dry and crumbly. The sauce had little taste, and the wrap… well it was ok actually. All and all, fairly tasteless and disappointing, so much so, I haven’t been back to try dessert there yet I was so offended by the chickpea dust they dared to call a falafel.(If you haven’t noticed by my other reviews, falafel has reached obsession status for me). So yeah, friendly staff, food looked fresh. but worst falafel in boston.

While I still need to come here and try a sandwich, salad, or soup… I think I can say that this is a solid location for some quick & tasty froyo. EARSALERT — JENNA! For 2.75 I got a small non-fat(this doesn’t mean no calorie, babies) amaretto froyo. I love amaretto anything, and when I don’t feel like I should be indulging in the Bacia(choco/hazelnut) gelato from F-Hall, this is a decent option. It’s $ 2 cheaper and presumably slightly better for you. I can’t think of a better way to end a walk back to work from the common than with a cup of delicious froyo in my hand. They seem to offer a pretty distinctive variety of flavors as well, and you don’t feel like you’re inconveniencing anyone, much like you do at Max’s(although they have a good selection as well). Columbo in FH is the past, Temptations is the future.

i’m really disappointed with these reviews. temptations is becoming my fall-back lunch option downtown when i want something light, fresh, and convenient(it helps that i’m right across the street). yes the interior is small and divey, but it’s the food that matters, and i’m quickly becoming addicted to their soups(which they do not microwave, at least in the winter). the ingredients taste fresh and flavorful. the soup is served with optional cheese on top, and crackers or pita bread. the service is friendly. yes, it’s cash only. not a big deal once you get used to it. my only complaint is that i feel it is on the pricey side– $ 5.50 for a large soup. but considering how fresh and tasty, i suck it up. right now i’m eating the beef chili, mmmmmm(they also have vegeterian). you should be jealous.

So I have not actually gotten food here, only frozen yogurt, so that is all I will comment on until further notice. Knock one star for cash only… although it’s relatively small, but still, I’m not in love with the place so I knock off a star. So there. The frozen yogurt is quite tasty. They have tons of options and you can either start with a vanilla or chocolate base. I had the peanut butter with chocolate once and it was oh so good. Be careful with additions though, I made the mistake when the guy asked me if I wanted anything on it with saying yes, completely forgetting it costs extra. Won’t fool me like that again! I like coming here in the summer when I want something refreshing… and this place does the trick. It’s not too expensive and it’s relatively close by. I haven’t decided whether I’ll venture into the actual food side or not. We shall see…

What’s not to like? Quick: Good. Salads: Good. Soups: Goooood. Found this gem when I worked in the area. They offer a variety of soups and salads that are all very tasty, made fresh and reasonably priced. Each soup or salad is served with your choice of bread, I always opted for sour dough. I’ve heard rumor that their ice cream is excellent. The Mediterranean salad piqued my interest with talk of spinach pie, falafel, tahini and more… I tried it and it was scrumptious with the exception of the falafel… it was a little dry. But that was the only time this place ever disappointed me.

It’s nothing much to look at, but they’ve got a decent selection and the line moves pretty quickly. You can also get any salad they offer made into a wrap. They’re great with substituting in just about anything, too. My recommendation is the Mediterranean wrap — Falafel, spinach pie, feta, greens, onions(i omit), bean sprouts, cucumbers, maybe tomatoes, and a tahini vinaigrette. And you can choose the kind of wrap to put it all in.

Caffeine Alternative! I came here to get a strawberry smoothie instead of coffee for the afternoon. It’s was very yummy and refreshing. Lots of choices, price are reasonable, and probably better than getting my afternoon coffee. They got wraps, and salad for lunch and smoothie, ice-cream, frozen yogurt as dessert. It’s a really good place for an afternoon break.
