If I could rate lower I would(I appologize ahead of time for the book!) I parked at the Stoneholm Garage for almost 6 months. Let me start by saying, the Stoneholm Garage(security staff) are delightful(particularly Frank). My rating is strictly for the Hamilton Company. The Hamilton Company is probably the most unorganized company I have had to deal with. Dave N.(the Parking manager) does not respond to phone calls, and you’re lucky if you get an email response within 48 hours(without continuing to ask for a response). Everything started when a stray cat was«living» in the garage. The cat would jump onto the hood of cars, leaving paw prints, fur and some little scratches behind. The garage is not in the best of conditions(water puddles on the floor, from what, who knows? Since it is covered) this left a bad odor(not to mention the additonal smell of the cat). Not only was I dealing with the Cat sitting on my car or hiding underneath it, one morning as I was going to park in my spot, I found an empty can of cat food with a bowl of water sitting in the middle of my spot(no wonder the cat kept coming back!) When I confronted the Hamilton Company about this, I was told the animal rescue was on it. Apparently the animal rescue was on it for 2 months… that’s how long it took for the cat to be removed. In the meantime, I asked for a new spot, one. because the cat knew my spot«had» food and two. I frankly had the worse spot in the garage(I had to parallel park along side a wall and another car that parked next to me, and had trouble pulling in and out of the spot when other(parking spots of) people were occupied. So the Hamilton Company was nice enough to give me a new spot after telling me the garage was fully rented and nothing was available(clearly I could see what was available after parking there for 5 months). So they gave me a new spot. Looked great, it was a spot next to another wall but you could pull up to the wall no problems. Well so I thought. Few days go by(literally about 3) and another car is parked right in front of me. There was no room for me to back up or pull forward to get out of my spot. What do I do? Because I’m nice and generally care for others, I waited… 3 hours after work to see if this person would come back to the garage. The security guards didn’t know who this car belonged to, and it had out of state plates. Thinking it was a visitor and they were out in town for the night, the only recourse was to get the car towed. The car was towed away; I left and went home after a long day at work.(Mind you Dave never answered his phone or emails during this whole time period of waiting for the owner of the car). Two days later, I finally get an email back from Dave stating this happens from time to time, although rare, and unfortunately all you can do is get the person towed. I accepted his response and went on my way. About a week later I pull into the garage to park in my new spot, and the car is back! This time with a letter and cone behind the car. The letter read«Don’t tow me, I pay to park here too, if you need help parking call this number.» This time I had enough. I wrote to Dave again, expecting nothing more than an email back(I mean really you’re running a business). Two weeks go by, nothing. I called the Hamilton Company and spoke to «River» the parking cordinator and left a message for Dave to contact me. He emails me back(the phone must not work or something). It gets better. the response I get from Dave: «Again sorry for the trouble you’ve had at the lot. I thought that allowing you to switch spaces and to select from a few spaces would be helpful, but apparently it was more of an inconvenience in the end. Please note that we did not leave that note for you– the people parking in front of your space have been there for almost 3 years and during almost the entire term they have had a car behind them without any problems from either party. The space you selected does require a 3-point turn of sorts, but it still allows access and a parking space. We have owned the lot for almost 6 years and have always rented both of those spaces. Again, I’m sorry that it didn’t work out for you, and as I said before I understand why you’d like to break your lease – no problem.» How nice of you! Letting me break my lease(the last month of my contract) Quickly, A few spaces? He gave me one other choice. 3 years? And no one knew who this car belonged to? 3 point turn of sorts… didn’t know this was tandum parking. 6 years! I don’t care how long you’ve owned this lot, my concern is… customer service is key, and The Hamilton Company lacks in this department enormously. In the words of the Hamilton Company«again, sorry» for the novel ;)
