Came here on a Friday night and the place was DEAD. There was maybe a total of 20 people in the entire venue(including the workers). The DJ was playing Reggae, which I like, but not when I’m trynna have a night out with my girls. We ordered a sex on the beach and shots of patron, both of which they filled to the rim. Maybe if they had better music more people would come thru…

We went on a Saturday night: $ 10 cover. My friend’s credit card information was compromised here. He orders everyone shots with credit card. It wasn’t declined. He goes back to the bar later, orders some beers with the same card. It was declined. Other people there had their drinks stolen from straight off the bar. The music was hilarious and I love how many dance-offs there are. The music was, how you say, ratchet. I didn’t have a bad night, but my heart goes out to my friend and the girls at the bar who got their Kamakazi shots stolen.

I use to LOVE this place. Good food, great beer selection, and a great environment not to mention the giant 22oz beer mugs for drafts which were awesome. I went back and they got rid of their draft selection so they no longer offer draft beer which for any bar is bizarre. I also grabbed some food and the potato skins were dry and had almost no toppings and little cheese. The chicken fingers were dry and rubbery. Needless to say I won’t be returning unless something drastic changes.

Just went there yesterday 2÷19÷15 walked in and ordered two drinks, one for my brother and one for myself it was his birthday. Had to speak loudly over the loud music at that, she denied me a drink and told me I was too drunk! What? I just walked in and you tell me this? People where leaning and bumping in to people left and right but were able to by themselves more than one drink after the fact of being drunk? The bartender was rude at that! Never again will i step foot in a pre-judgmental run down, hole in the corner bar! I high recommend that you never attempt to go to «The Place»

Stopped by on a bar crawl and they wouldn’t honor our bracelets despite being listed as participating until 2 am that night(Halloween). The jack*** at the door said«we went private at 9, you have to pay a cover.» It was 8:25. They obviously didn’t want anyone spending money there. Don’t waste your time, stadium is right around the corner and was more fun.

Some of these reviews are a bit old and harsh but I understand we all have different experiences. I went here by myself to meet up with a friend who was djing and having his farewell party. The place seems to have been renovated and looked great, its not that big but enough room that you can buy a drink, mingle, and bust a move. The music sounded great and the atmosphere wasn’t too bad. Thats all I can rate it on as I didn’t buy drinks since most places in boston like to water down the drinks and wasn’t going to risk trying at this location but the prices were average. But besides that its a decent spot with cheap cover charge if you can’t get into one of the other many bars/clubs in the area for whatever reason. Tho I will end with this security didn’t even pat me down or anything which I found weird, so be weary lol

This place is THEWORST! DONOTEVERCOMEHERE! The crowd is horrible, it is overpriced, and the staff is obnoxious! I have been here on multiple occasions and it has never been good. In addition, the one time my friend hosted a party here, they refused to let half of the guest list in, even though they were on as part of the contract. The Place is an awful venue and definitely not worth it. If i could give them zero stars, I would.

I went during a queer takeover by Flannel Takeovers, and the place was quickly packed way past capacity. The dance floor is TINY, which leads to people stepping on others and your clothes getting drenched by spilled drinks. The music was GREAT! Lots of hip-hop throwbacks and newer dance/pop. The bartenders were slammed for attention, which led to really slow service. It took over ten minutes to get attention from one of them at one point. My advice is check it out, the cover was $ 5 which was fine with me and pretty worth it. Average priced drinks.

The bartenders are more interested in flirting and flexing then making drinks. The music is also pretty bad, seems like the DJ is out of touch with what’s good and what not to play. Last time I was here Vanilla Ice came on twice… Enough said. The reason this place even got two stars is for their pizza. I was pleasantly surprised on how good it was and how quickly it came out. Late night Pizza, come here. Drinks, music and a good crowd… find another PLACE.

This is easily one of the most overrated night life spots in Boston. One of the last times I remember contemplating going in here, I had to hand a guy who was leaving my undershirt to use as a tourniquet. This is because he was suffering from a severe stab wound. This is a convenient spot to go to if you’re looking for a cramped spot to hang out with 23 year-old wannabe gangsters, you want to be the victim of credit card fraud, or if you need to sneak in a few underage people somewhere. Otherwise, try to avoid.

Surprisingly good pizza! Not a place I want to normally hang out(bar, staff and location were perfectly fine… it’s the patrons who are awful), but all things considered, in spite of having half the space cleared out to allow a bunch of sideways hats to grind the night out to the Pitbull, it was a much better time than I was expecting. The bar was a normal bar, with normal priced drinks, in the Financial District on a Saturday night. No, you are not going to get a hand crafted Aviation, Whiskey Smash or Gin Flip in here. But you also won’t be forced to pay $ 8 for a Bud Light Lime from one of those aluminum cans that bars stock because semi-literate cretins from the suburbs can’t be trusted with actual glassware. Back to the pizza: it was, I believe, made in some sort of EZ-Bake oven. HOWEVER, it was actually pretty damn good! Weird, huh? For people who were upset, I would ask them to consider what it was, precisely, that they were expecting. I was expecting a stampede of irritable meatheads and adults wearing jerseys to metastize throughout the building, like an Axe Deodorant commercial seeping out of the TV and infecting the real universe – but the staff did a great job of confining the spastic idiocy of low-watt club chattel to the appropriate zones of the premises, and my friends and I were actually able to have a perfectly decent time.

Literally one of the worst places to go in Boston. I’d rather go to SISSYKS and would probably have a somewhat better time. Cover charge was $ 20 dollars so My two friends and I walked away. As we began she screamed out” FIVEDOLLARS”! we were going to continue but it was 1AM, we needed a drink, and fast. We stand at the bar while the 3 bartenders definitely looked busy. We finally got the guys attention, and I asked for a Sex On The Beach… he must think I’m an idiot, but he poured a little tiny bit of alcohol, and cranberry juice to fill the ¾ths left… what??? Idiotic amateur bartenders, pathetic front staff, and a sad place overall.

I really wouldn’t even leave one star, we live on the cape, we were in boston for a concert decided to go in for apps before the concert because the DJ we like was gonna be there later that night, so why not park there eat then go to the concert and go back to see the DJ later. Well to our surprise we walk in, it is not crowed the two of us girls sit down at the bar, first off the music is so loud why? Next there is a guy bartender it took him 6 mins to come over to us and ask us what we wanted I wouldn’t have minded but the way he came over to us he didn’t greet us he said«what do you want» did not offer menus and then gave us our drinks and walked away, now not that many people are at the bar at all so I asked him to come over I said could we please have menus and then I asked his name Tyler(awful customer service learn how to talk to customers I am your money,) so now let’s talk about the food I ordered the hamburger sliders and she ordered the chickenparm sliders well when they finally got to us like 36 mins later I looked at it and thought my mini burger looks frozen gross so gross I asked Tyler after one little bite if they were frozen he said yes, I Said to him him I couldn’t eat them because they tasted so bad asked him if their hamburgers were frozen he said no, so I had them make me that instead… Would never eat there again, he didn’t even try and make it right he didn’t take it off the bill either kept that on as well as the burger, I’m not looking for free food but offer to take it off or send a manager to ask me why I didn’t like it, he or she didn’t even come out to talk to me! Ok so we paid left and went to the concert got out went back for the Dj we order two drinks that we got before and the price changed WTF so I got out extra money and asked him to give me ones he kept a dollar without asking me or me giving it to him umm last time I checked it was my right to give you money not you just take it needless to say that was our last round and we finished our drinks and headed home because the service just was awful. Come on respect your place and make your costumers come back we will never go back

I wandered in here because the wallpaper on the interior attracted me. Awkward subpar bartenders serving underwhelming drinks. Huge televisions on every wall. This bar is a ghost town. No reason to come back or elaborate further.

Been here a few times now. The dance floor is never really thriving, the DJ seems completely out of touch with this millennium, it’s too loud to hear yourself think, and the bartenders have been straight up rude — a friend ordered a round, kept the tab open, and then couldn’t get service to order another round. When she finally yelled to ask the bartender why she was being ignored, the woman working replied snottily, «well maybe if you tipped next time it’d be different.» 1, the tab was still open, and 2, excuse me? There were hardly any customers there, and service like that certainly isn’t going to draw in anyone new.

I’m writing this review as I sit here because I had to post this as soon as possible. Do not believe that they have revamped this place. It is still horrible with the same awful rowdy Bruins fans. I came here for the $ 1 burger special and I will never come back here. There was one bartender who took forever to take our orders. Then our mushy sweet potato fries came out after a half hour and looked like they were heated up in a microwave. After a solid hour of waiting, our burgers finally came out. The waitress said they can only cook 6 burgers at a time. What??! Anyways it was the size of a slider on a regular bun(I’m not fooled), over cooked, and came with a soggy pickle. I’m sorry I even thought about coming back here. Save yourselves.

I decided to give The Place another shot after management was attentive in responding to my less-than-positive review. Unfortunately, my opinion of The Place as a nightlife spot is unchanged. I did, however, go after work one night for dinner and for that experience I bump The Place up to 2.5 stars. For Friday night, it was pretty quiet(maybe three or four other people sitting around the bar) when I went for dinner. My friend and I decided to eat at the bar(opposed to the few high top tables by the windows) and each got pizza, which was delicious and ample enough for leftovers. They also have a jumbo Margarita-Corona/Margarona/Coronita(whatever you call it!) which are hard to come by in this town. I didn’t order one, but they’re pretty hard to mess up, so I’m sure they’re good! The owner/partner was bartending and was very chatty. He seemed to have a good rapport with the other patrons there, who I assume were regulars. Overall: The Place is a fine spot for dinner or an after work drink. It’s quiet and the staff is interesting and the pizza was good. The atmosphere leaves something to be desired and it is not my ideal spot for nightlife due to the crowd and music. I can see its potential as a nightlife spot though, just not my type of place. Try it for yourself.

Ok everyone knows this place has serves booze, beers, and plays top 40 music on the weekends. What you didn’t know is this place has the biggerst air conditioner you’ve ever seen(see the photos). The thing generates hurricane force winds. Whoever made the management decision to put this in here should be canned.
