Wanted to have Italian pizza and this was the first Italian restaurant I came across in Newbury street. A small restaurant with bar offering drinks and bear, and with a small place outside if you prefere dining outside(we did!). The interior’s were sweet and cozy. A little buzy staff, making it hard to make an order, but when finally there; the waiter was really friendly and serviceminded. Two of us had pizza, and were both overwhelmed by the volume of cheese. Simply too much!

This place is not great. I went last night with my in-laws and husband. To start, we were seated quickly which was great, especially for an outdoor table. Our server immediately asked us for our drink order, 3 seconds after we sat down and seemed a little annoyed we didnt know yet since we had just sat down. We saw many patrons eating pizza(which is not on their normal dinner menu) so we asked if they do pizza, rolling her eyes the waitress came back with a pizza menu. I think that it is kind of sketchy that it is not on their main menu because I’m sure its not a big money-maker; that the kind of place this restaurant obviously is. We ordered a bottle of wine which was finished in one round the table pour by our waitress since our waitress literally filled all of our glasses to the brim and promptly took away the bottle and asked if we wanted another.CLASSY.she needs to learn wine etiquette obviously. We got bruschetta to start, three pieces for 8 dollars, it was fine but definitely not great and didnt have much flavor. We split two pizzas, both of which were under cooked and the waitress messed up our order so at first and served us a pepperoni pizza instead of portobello pizza which was not great since both of my inl-laws are very strict vegetarians. Upon taking it away(no apology) she assured the pizza would come out soon. We didnt receive the pizza until my in-laws had already eaten the entirety of their first pizza so we didnt all eat together. The portobello mushroom pizza that came out was undercooked and again devoid of flavor. This place is just another over-priced Newbury Street tourist establishment with underwhelming food and disappointing service. There is a reason that there wasn’t a wait for 4 people sitting outside on a gorgeous Friday night at 7:30PM. DONTGOHERE!!!

We live around the corner and tried this place for the first time. We checked out the reviews and didn’t have high expectations but figured we could get a decent bite to eat. The service was fine and it’s cute inside, outdoor seating is a plus too. We started with the grilled octopus starter which was quite good. However, my husband had the cod piccata and I had the penne bolognese. Both were underwhelming to say the least. He ended up eating the potatoes that came with his cod and I had a few bites of the penne but both were just not good. The fish looked and tasted as though it had been frozen. My pasta did not taste freshly made and the sauce tasted like it came out of a jar. Unfortunate, as the place has potential given its location. If you’re looking for Italian on Newbury, try someplace else.

Stopped by for a couple of beers and apps on the patio with my fiancé. Perfect place for people-watching after walking around Newbury Street. The mussels were excellent and the beers were cold! Nothing to complain about in terms of the service, but I did notice a couple of awkward encounters when it came time to pay. The waitress flashes the bill on her iPhone and everyone(specifically, a group of older women) is leaning over the table/squinting to read the itemized bill and divvy up costs. My advice to management; stick to the old fashioned way and deliver paper checks to your tables.

I go here for drinks when I am close to my office because they have cheap stuff on tap and it is usually pretty mellow in there if it’s a weekday. The bartender(usually the same one always) is friendly and accommodating. The manager is a nice guy who I’ve chatted with a handful of times. They have great sandwiches for lunch(short rib ftw) and the dishes are pretty good too. If you’re around the area it’s a solid go-to.

The hostess who also served our table never smiled the whole time I was having dinner. After dinner, I ordered coffee, and asked the hostess for some half and half. She said: «half and half of what?» I thought, which villa did you come from?

I love this place. It’s quiet and quaint. The waitstaff have always been nice to me. The food here is fantastic. The prices are reasonable.

Dropped in here for a few drinks while we were waiting on a reservation. What a hidden gem! Outstandingly they have $ 4 beer draft specials and $ 5 bar bites. We sat at the(small) bar and ordered drinks. I had the espresso martini, which comes with a freshly brewed shot of espresso mixed in. I asked for it in a rocks glass(I always end up with half the drink on the floor when it’s in a martini glass, waving goodbye to $ 5 worth of spillage). She served it in the mixing tumbler so I got all the iced espresso yummy goodness. We didn’t try any of the food but it smelled excellent, and the plates going by looked delicious. The place itself is tiny but was never full on the Friday night we were there for about an hour and a half. Could be a new spot for us!

This is a cute little Trattoria and I had a delicious pasta dish, Farfalle Florentine, nice creamy sauce with spinach, mushrooms and a touch of lemon juice. Nice portion, great customer service but I would recommend to be there early because the place gets really busy and there are few tables.

First of all, I will say the food here was excellent. We did not have to wait very long for a table, and our food came promptly. The really weird moment came when the hostess asked us, just as we were finishing our main course, if we could move to another table for our dessert order. This was to accommodate another group of patrons(4 adults and 2 young children) because they needed to use our table. We were totally taken aback and said nvm we would have our dessert elsewhere. The waiter came over and apologized and my boyfriend said that we were giving them a chance to fix the situation. So the manager eventually offered dessert. To which we said no thank you. I have never been asked to move in the middle of my meal without an offer to sweeten the situation before. This was awkward and rude in an area with lots of other dining options. The tiramisu is pretty tasty at Trident down the street…

Truth be told, I’ve only dined in here once — and by in I mean out, on the patio. It was a lovely setting, but otherwise not very memorable. Since then, though, I’ve ordered delivery via Eat24 several times and I’ve always had a positive experience. The food arrives sooner than anticipated and so delicious! I really enjoy the Penne Bolognese and the Arancine. The Vodka sauce is also quite good and the Roasted Brussels Sprouts with balsamic glaze are awesome! I was worried that the sprouts would arrive a mushy, disappointing mess, but I was pleasantly surprised to dive into perfectly roasted, slightly sweet, crunchy goodness. The portions are generous and highly affordable — dare I say cheap? Definitely my go-to spot for comfort food on a lazy Sunday.

We stopped in after a day of walking around Boston. The service was quick. The calamari came out almost instantaneously! Followed by the Arancine(rice ball) The calamari was lightly fried and very tender. The rice balls were small, 3 each, and so good! Don’t miss those. The couple next to us even commented as to how good they are. Anyway, it was a great day, and I got a second date out it. Which is nice. :)

The wine and caprese salad were good, but I wasn’t wowed by my pasta puttanesca, nor was my boyfriend. His tortellini was so sad and tasteless. Our server was also so over waiting tables and not very friendly. It was really awkward paying and tipping with our card. You don’t get a printed out receipt, instead, the server flashes your bill at you on a screen and then you swipe your card and tip. Really not a fan of that system.

I had visiting this restaurant occasionally in the course of 5 – 6 years. The food had improved a lot but the issue still with unhappy staff. The new addition to the menu: Grilled Octopus is a must to have. Very reasonable price and perfect portion size. Please… warmer bread!!!

Sevice was meh, food was meh, ambiance was meh… They had some great Italian beers which is usually a rarity, but that was really the only highlight from my trip here. Overall, I wouldn’t go here again… Even if you were buying. There are MUCH better options in the area.

This restaurant serves highly mediocre, inauthentic Italian food – it’s basically like an Olive Garden. The concept is certainly Olive Garden to the core: you pick a(likely premade) sauce and then choose to eat it with one of several types of pastas. I stopped in here for dinner with friends but I certainly would not return, especially with all of the other options on Newbury. Food I tried: — Spinach Florentine w/Linguine — Spaghetti carbonara — Vodka sauce w/linguine — Calamari appetizer The calamari was tasty, but the pastas were just terrible. Not even the large amounts of butter and cream could help. If you do decide to eat here, I’d suggest steering clear of the linguine and spaghetti and opting for the gnocchi instead… I tried a bite of my friend’s gnocchi dish and it was far better than any of the other dishes I shared.

Cute place with not many tables. We waited a while for a table and when we got it another party decided to switch tables because they were cold so we ended up with the table by the entrance… with the cold draft. It took forever to get our food. Two in our party got the gnocchi and I got some penne with tomatoes, mozzarella, garlic and basil. The food was good. Definitely not authentic but not bad at all. If you want pasta, you pick which kind of pasta(penne, farfalle, spaghetti, etc) or gnocchi and which sauce you want with it.

Cute place with limited seating, but it was about 1:30 when we went and the place was empty so we had no problem getting a spot. We came here for the $ 5 bar specials and $ 3 beers. They have about 7 or so items on the list, and we decided to get 2 to share and a beer each. They start you off with some soft but crunchy bread and olive oil/vinegar, yum! We got the salmon tartare, the fried meatballs, and a palm ale each. Salmon tartare– a little on the small side, but it had a nice lemony flavor to it. Also comes with 2 crostinis on the side yay for more bread! It didn’t taste too fishy either, probably because of the lemon aioli Meatballs– Fried on the outside, with a smear of tomato sauce on the bottom and shaved parmesan on top. I enjoyed this one, but wasn’t expecting the whole meat ball to be fried. It had a nice CRUNCH! and I liked dipping it in the sauce. Comes with 4 meatballs Overall, it was a good lunch to share, but probably because we were filled with beer too. We wanted to try the truffle steak fries, but I think we would’ve been way too stuffed. We left satisfied and our stomach’s filled! ~$ 10 for the both of us! good deeeal **Gotta grab a seat at the bar to order from their $ 5 menu
