Food was great– the marg pizza /the shrimp risotto and the beet and goat cheese salad are amazing. Service– super nice guy, really helped us make sure we picked the best dishes for our first visit

Delicious pastas and pizzas. Service was wonderful, our waiter’s name was Hector. Overall authentic Italian cuisine.

Small place– bad service — good food. The hostess was really welcoming and friendly today. i know they were very busy today but the waitress took almost 20 min to come to the table and didn’t given say hi just ok what drinks do you want In a hey I’m bothered your here voice. The food was good everyone on my table liked what they got. The chicken was great and the flat bread pizza was the best!!! I would definitely go back for that. The salads and the dressing on them were outstanding.

Place sucks… Took 50 minutes for sliders and fries. We complained and our waitress cud care less. They also said they weren’t pizza after five yet it’s a pizza place and everyone around us was getting pizza. The sliders weren’t even good.

I went to Scoozi with a party of 5 on a cool and overcast Saturday, and we chose to sit out on the patio, which was empty other than one other table of 3. The hostess awkwardly led us to our table, and when we asked if we could push two tables together, she rudely refused saying she needed it for other patrons and they only allowed that for parties of 6 or more. Just with plates, a water and drink glass each, and a pitcher of sangria, the table was ridiculously small for 5 people. We ordered 3 pizzas to split and when the hostess and another staff member brought them to the table, she still refused to give us a second table — there was barely room for 1 pizza, let alone 3. Thankfully the other staff realized we needed the second table and helped is pull it over. I can’t stress enough how rude this hostess was! The pizza was good, although despite our request they combined meat and vegetarian pizza halves, and when packing our leftovers, they put a slice of chicken pesto pizza face down on a veggie slice and a slice of saucy BBQ chicken pizza upside down on a margherita slice so the sauce and red peppers got everywhere. And sadly then the leftovers were inedible to the vegetarians in our party. The sangria was a pretty good value — we got 5 glasses out of each pitcher.

First, we confirmed with the host that they had gluten-free pizza, as I have celiacs. After myself, along with my friends, ordered our meals, we received drinks. Ten minutes later, we were told they had no gf pizza or pasta at all that day. Keep in mind it was a Saturday lunch hour, how are they out? Very disappointing. I had to sit and wait for my companions to finish(they offered to leave, but their meals had already been ordered, and we had drinks) before I could eat. Would not ever go back.

A few months ago, I would have given Scoozie 5 stars. Scoozie used to be the best spot on Newbury for pizza. Their pizza was always fresh, and made to perfection. I was heartbroken to find out that Scoozie no longer serves pizza in the restaurant for dinner. You have to carry-out. I am SO disappointed. The new menu has flatbreads — but they do not even COMPARE to the pizza. The staff has also changed in the last few years, and while no one has been rude to me, I do feel like there has been a shift of what they prefer for clientele. Scoozie used to be a great Friday night pizza spot — it was warm, casual, and inviting(jeans and a sweatshirt encouraged). The staff was so friendly and the food was spectacular(and VERY reasonably priced — especially for Newbury/Back Bay). Now I sense that because I am not a BU student ordering steak tips and pitchers of sangria, I am not the type of patron they are looking for. WHOGOESTO A PIZZAPLACEANDORDERS A STEAKDINNER?! It is so upsetting to see this neighborhood gem, which was once a casual, delicious pizza place(the ONLY one in Back Bay like it) become a pre-club scene, and take off the one thing on the menu they are loved and famous for. They do serve flatbreads, which are NOTHING compared to the pizza — and the price of some of their(former) simple pies! BRINGBACKPIZZAONTHEEAT-INDINNERMENU!!!

The place is cute, a bit small though, but nice to bring a date and it had a cozy warmth to it. The server was friendly but the pizza I order wasn’t all that great. The pepperonis were large but the whole pizza ended up being to greasy and the crust is nothing special. It’s a plain crust that tastes the same as any local pizza joint down the street. Despite a nice looking display, the quality of the pizza was only a slight bit above that of a high school cafeteria’s. Overly salty, greasy, bland crust that wasn’t all that fresh and a bit doughy but the sauce was decent. Perhaps the pasta would be good at this place but assuming it’s nothing special. So, the pizza is about 2 – 3 stars. The coffee I had though was good and because of the environment I decided to give this rating a 3 as opposed to a 2, but food generally dictates the overall rating I give a place.

Mediocre food. My salmon was overdone. Vegetable risotto had hardly any vegetables in it, it actually had more mushrooms. Since mushrooms are not vegetables they would do better to call it mushroom risotto. They charged me $ 10 a beer for a bottled Stella which is a massive ripoff to say the least considering that you can buy a 6 pack for the same price. The appetizers were bigger than the mains and cost half as much. They also added 18% gratuity to the bill for a party of two without telling us. The bottom line is that you should never eat here because there is always another place open on Newburyport street that is better and won’t try to deceptively get you to tip twice for an already massively overpriced meal.

Good food, good street performers, it’s a good lunch area on newbury that’s not overpriced as some other venues. I don’t get to eat here nearly enough in the summer.

A couple weeks ago a few of my girlfriends and I went to Scoozi for lunch. After looking at the extensive menu our server told us to get the steak tips because everyone loves them, he said. wow! was he right! they were delicious and cooked to perfection. We had the option to either sit outside on the patio or inside. Since it was nice out we sat on the patio and we order sangria to share. What a view! Last but not least our server was spectacular. He was a cute Brazilian with tattoos. He was attentive and polite. He made sure he had everything we needed at all times. Our experience at Scoozi Newbury was great and we look forward to coming back again.

I stumbled across this place just by chance, I had a fat kid craving for some pizza and was looking for something else other then dirty water. After trying to figure out where it was on google maps and realizing its next two the salon I wondered in. The atmosphere of that is of a hole in the wall restaurant which is what I love, open kitchen which is always good so as your spacing out you have some stuff to look at. No one greeted me when I came in which, for a place on Newbury street you almost kind of expect it, there also wasn’t a clear indication as to if you should go to the counter to place your order or sit at the table, I walked in hoping to get two slices but because it was after 2 pm they don’t do that, makes no sense to me, I had no interest in paying $ 13 for pizza so I settled for the home made meatball sub instead, TOTALLYWORTHIT!!! Boy was I shocked! I had placed the order at the counter then sat down and the guy taking me order looked confused. Decided to go with the chocolate soufflé for desert. Which as it was brought to the table I started to drool, it’s worth it, the smell alone causes your senses to do cartwheels. While very good I’d ask them to make it hotter even before you first try it, while Luke warm it wasn’t bad I woulda wanted it hotter. Over all I plan on coming back for the pizza but timing it before 2 pm.

At a conference at the Hynes Auditorium, and Newbury street with all its cool places to eat is only a couple blocks away — so where do you eat? We choose Scoozi’s and we’re glad we did. It’s kind of a small establishment that has nice patio seating available(we sat indoors). The menu is wide including salads, pasta, pizza, paninis, and calzones. I chose the«four cheese pasta» and my colleague chose chicken Parmesan, which came with spaghetti with marinara sauce. Both dishes were acceptable, but not outstanding. Actually they were a little disappointing considering the excellent Italian cooking we had had in the past few days. Maybe our expectations were a little too high? The prices seemed reasonable(for Boston) and the service was excellent. Would I recommend Scoozi’s, probably not with all the other outstanding restaurants available on Newbury street.

Scoozi’s great if you have a large group order to handle — in that case, I usually get one of the paninis(and make sure it’s one of the daily deals, all about that free soda and chips). It’s a good deal, though be prepared to add your own spices(it’s pretty lacking in flavor given the mozz dominance).

I have always walked by Scoozi and wondered if it was good. Tonight, I was in a pizza mood and haven’t found a decent takeout pizza place in the neighborhood. I ordered a vegetable pizza that has peppers, mushrooms, onions and artichokes on top. It was delicious! Did not taste greasy, good flavor and had all my favorite toppings. The cashier was friendly and thought $ 16 for a large pizza was reasonable. I will definitely be back again.

This place was good. The best bang for your buck is definitely the pizza! The pizza was tasty and so were the salads. Their sangria is delicious also. I got the lobster ravioli and the caprese salad. The salad was very good, but pretty typical. The ravioli were really good and definitely stuffed with lobster. The only downside to this place was the service. They really rushed us to order and yet took forever with the bill and clearing our plates. Other than that, it’s a good place. I love the sidewalk terrace.

Ordered dinner from here on Monday. I got the Pasta Verdicchio, which is basically linguini with some chicken and veggies. On the plus side, it wasn’t overly greasy or salty and felt more on the healthy side(relatively), but at the same time it kind of just tasted like a mishmash of flavors without any unified goal in terms of taste.

One of the cheaper spots to eat on Newbury! I don’t usually go during the winter because I find half of the enjoyment of Scoozi is the outside seating during the Summer! While in college, this was our go-to spot for reasonably priced food… and SANGRIA! The sangria is awesome, and it comes in an adorable pitcher. Definitely the high point of Scoozi! I have had their blanco pizza, pretty good! and a sharable size. Greek Salad with Shrimp was also tasty. And we always seem to get a side of fries– can’t go wrong. It can get very, very crowded, especially during the Summer– and the inside is small so during the fall/winter it is hard to just walk in and get a seat without a wait. It is definitely a spot you should check out if you aren’t looking to spend a ton of money, get decent food and have delicious sangria!

Delicious! Our food was served very quickly and tasted great. We got an appetizer, two entrees for dinner, and a dessert and were out of there in under an hour. For those looking for a quick but good restaurant for brunch or dinner, this is a great choice. But maybe if you’re seeking a more romantic ambiance, this may not be the place. The name of the restaurant made me expect a very authentic Italian restaurant, yet it is set up as more of a bar. I would like to see a little more traditional Italian flare added to the inside to really feel and se the restaurant’s image.

Located in the boutique shopping experience of Newbury is this small, cramped little space churning out Italian grub and pizza. We stopped in for lunch and had: Mozzarella Tomato Panini, which was warm on the outside and chilly in the middle. The flavor was OK, but I prefer panini to be warmed all the way through. What I got was a mozzarella and tomato served on toast. Prices were up there but, looking around at the location and similar joints this side of Boston… I guess that’s par for the course. Try it or not. you’re not missing anything if you don’t.
