I’ve been to this place twice. Tribe stopped using Vinalia as a venue a while back, but recently hosted a night there for Pride weekend. The Pride event night made me DETEST this place. I have no issues with the Tribe people, but the Vinalia people are a different story. We showed up at Vinalia at around 11:00pm and stood outside in line with the rest of Boston’s lesbians. Vinalia is a very random place… it’s a restaurant that’s kind of hidden and lodged up inside an office building… very strange. But anyway, the hosts of the pride event were very disorganized and forcing the line back and forth because of their stupidity. It was the first time that I stood in line somewhere and actually ended up further away from the door after 15 minutes of waiting. The bouncers assured us we’d get in but we’d have to stand close to the wall and wait for people to leave. No problem. With our luck, after over 45 minutes in line, myself, Jenna C and her girlfriend were next in line. The THREE of us, next. Suddenly, a bouncer walks by us to talk to a group of girls. The girls give her 50 bucks and she let’s all SIX of them in. And if it couldn’t get anymore annoying, the dumba$$ owner of Vinalia comes down and tells the bouncers that the club is closed because the fire dept. is coming to check the capacity. I find it to be a HORRIBLE way to run a business where you get SO overcapacity you have to close down. I also find it disgusting that when they were probably already at capacity, they were still accepting bribes from people. I understand that bribes do work at clubs, but don’t put the lives of people in danger over your greed and don’t be so bluntly obvious that you’re a douchebag accepting bribes. Once the jacka$$ Vinalia owner closed the club down to any new people, the bouncers told everyone to go home. Since we were literally next in line, we asked how long it would take to get in if we waited since it was already almost midnight. The bouncer told us that the place was closed to new people and nobody else would be getting in no matter what. So we left. And we came to find out later that they started letting people back in. I was so mad at this place that I will literally NEVER go there again. Whether for a lesbian night or for just a meal at the restaurant. The owner is a short, turtle-like creature with gross hair and an even grosser face. I hope you read this and realize that you are the worst restaurant owner in the city and I hope your business fails miserably. You wasted my time. You dish out BS instead of being honest and helpful. You’re short and ugly. You like to think you have worth and that your job makes you cool. Oh, and you endangered guests for your own greed. You sir, are an embarrassment.

Tribe rarely holds nights at this venue from what I understand. I had been here once before on Halloween with a few friends and had an awesome time. This past Saturday for those that don’t know was the Pride parade and probably the biggest celebrating night for the LGBT community. Tribe added on an extra night here(usually Tribe is held on Thursday and Friday at different club venues). After spending hours trying to decide where to go we roll up to Tribe at about 11. There is a huge line. I ask the bouncer if it’s worth standing in line and if everyone will get in. They assure me that everyone will get in as long as we stand in an orderly line away from the exit. 45 minutes later we’re the next in line. We see three people exit and ask the bouncer if we can go in now… right at that moment the man who I guess was running the show came out and announced the club was no longer letting people in no matter how many people exited, turning away at least 50 people because apparently the fire department was on the way. AREYOUFRIGGINKIDDINGME?! I was pissed. I just wasted most of my night out waiting in line for a club I was assured I would get into? This seriously is the worst I’ve ever seen a business run. Maybe if you didn’t have your bouncers going through hand picking their friends out of line and sneaking them in behind your back or accepting bribes to let people cut the line you wouldn’t have gone over your capacity. I will NEVER go to Tribe @ Vinalia again. And would suggest you don’t either if you’re planning a fun night out and want a guarantee you’ll get in.
