Located in the Copley Place entry in the Marriott Copley Place, this truffle shop provides a sweet taste for those itching for a chocolate fix. That being said, service was pretty much absent — the lady there was busy tidying up and making boxes as we stood until we mentioned we really did want to buy something. And we tried mini-truffles($ 1 each). You can get a box for 4 of them($ 5 for the box + 4 mini-truffles). Super-sweet, as you’d expect truffles to be, but my companion noted that Lindts is still better. Go figure. I will have to try the chocolate-covered marshmallow a different time.

Ever have a dream about being dropped in a vat of your favorite food and having to eat your way out… well, me neither But, the chocolate covered marshmellow is that good. The marshmellow is perfect, not gooey or stale, but firm and tasty. It is rather pricey, but its a small indulgence Beware: the woman behind the counter can be cranky in a less malevolent soup Nazi type of way, but that marshmellow is totally worth it

Stop #3 Truffles Fine Confections(«Truffles») easily captures your attention as you walk along the Shops at Prudential Center. If I remember correctly, this confectionery stand is just before you hit the walkway. But the more you look at the shelves of chocolates and candies, the more pedestrian they seem. The candied fruits were too sweet and the chocolates tasted stale. If Truffles is already a part of your daily routine, then just ignore everything I’ve said. But if you came to Boston looking to satisfy a sweet tooth, then I’d recommend skipping this place. After one bite, you’d be convinced too that there must be better chocolatiers elsewhere. Note: In February of 2009, Cindy and I embarked on a 48-hour eating tour around the greater Boston area. I called it the Boston Masticare — a bad pun off the Italian transitive verb«to chew.» [Original Visit: February 14, 2009, 1:22PM]

If you’re looking for some unique chocolate dipped snacks, this is an option. They have chocolate dipped ginger snacks, chocolate dipped strawberries & bananas, etc. These are hand-dipped everyday apparently so go with these, but the other confections(like truffles, ganaches, etc.) are as stale as cookies left out unsealed for a few months. The only other plus I would give them is that they’re reasonably priced. I paid $ 15 for a bag full of confections.

I wrote a review for the Prudential location so I will only re-iterate what I love most about this place — their chocolate covered bananas that they have on the weekends! Freshly dipped in milk or dark chocolate, this delightful treat looks dirty while eating it but tastes delicious! They also have chocolate covered cherries, strawberries and pineapple. They have the traditional treats as well, but it is the chocolate that keeps customers coming back!
