Wicked Good Cupcakes

My wife ordered a pick 6 box of cupcakes for us to enjoy for Christmas. Not impressed. Very dry cake slathered with an extremely sweet frosting. The cupcakes we get from the grocery store give these a run for their money and they are less expensive. We won’t be repeat offenders.

Saw this on Shark Tank and was so excited to order. We got two cupcakes and two pies. I can’t say we enjoyed any of it. Cute presentation and everything arrived on time. But all was dry and flavorless. A product with this price tag needs to be very special and this just wasn’t. I won’t be ordering again.

So I tried Wicked Good Cupcakes (at Faneuil Hall) after reading about them via Shark Tank. It sounded like an amazing concept so I was excited to try. They have a great selection of flavors but we went with Vanilla Birthday Cake and Chocolate Salted Caramel. For the price tag of $ 7.50/cupcake jar you would expect them to be amazing … not so much in my experience. The presentation of the cupcake is very pretty, but the cupcake itself was pretty dry. I wish they offered a less expensive cupcake that was not in a glass jar (to take the price down). I can’t honestly say we will be rushing back to Wicked Good Cupcakes.

At 10 dollars a cupcake, I expected a lot more. The cupcake is overly rich, and completely dried out and stale. The jar and name describe innovation, and I was impressed by what I saw in shark tank. Maybe it’s better in Boston, but don’t ship these. They won’t make it.

Took us a full hour to find your location… the wicked good cupcakes website takes us to a completely different building than it should. Google thinks you’re located on the south side, and a sign outside the market is inaccurate! We even called the number a dozen times to try and locate you but no one answered. Finally found your cart and there were barely any choices. No one helped us find what we wanted. HORRIBLE customer service. I bought a few cupcakes not knowing what they were because you don’t say what’s in them! I ended up not even liking a few that I paid a fortune for because you didn’t say it was all peanut butter. Mr. Wonderful would be extremely disappointed.

Stuff is deliciousssssssssssssssss. Real cute presentation too, love the idea of the cupcake in a jar.
Located in Quincy Market, they have a big cut out of Mr. Wonderful too since this is a Shark Tank product. #touristshit
Stuff is maddd expensive though. I think its roughly 9 bucks a pop and they also don’t have a real long shelf life either.
Everyone is worthy of a $ 9 cupcake in a jar once in a while though… so splurge away and enjoy.

Yup, I’m awarding five stars for dessert in a jar. The vanilla birthday cake was the bomb. I love that they layer frosting, then cake, then more frosting, then more cake. The frosting was perfect and the cake wasn’t dry at all. I also bought a peanut butter one to try later.
They’re expensive though! Fourteen bucks for two jar cupcakes, seriously?! Worth it, though. I’ve had regular cupcakes that were far less tasty than these.
Plenty of gluten-​free options too, if you’re interested.

I wish I could give this 4.5 since it was wicked good but wish there was a little more to the cupcake. I had gotten the cookies and cream cupcake. As I opened it and took the first spoonful, I had really enjoyed the delightful flavor of it and will go back/​order it online for more flavors!

Such a fun concept!!! My sister ordered these for me when I got a promotion at work and I was so impressed and excited! I had never heard of cupcakes-​in-​a-​jar! They were so flavorful and such a neat way of preparing a cupcake! They came packaged well, too! I ended up ordering some for her a few months later! I am an avid baker and thought this was such a clever idea and excellent gift to send! Although, beware, once you open one, you’ll only be putting the cap back onto an empty jar!

Like many, I first heard of wicked good cupcakes on shark tank. I was beyond excited when a variety pack randomly showed up in our office. I tried the vanilla birthday cake and it was love at first bite! I was so impressed with the product I went that weekend to buy one… okay, like ten more.
Fast forward a couple of weeks. I was given a work project and wicked good cupcakes was the first business to come to mind. Added bonus? They’re local! I reached out to their business and placed the order with ease. Nora was beyond amazing and helped every step of the way. #customerforlife ha.

We were visiting Boston and found the little shop in our travels. Because we were huge Shark Tank fans, we had to buy one. The price seemed a bit high at $ 7.50 a jar. We tried to ask questions about Shark Tank and the woman was absolutely clueless. Since its such a draw and because they were advertising «as seen on Shark Tank», I think day 1 orientation should include watching the episode they’re in. We got cookies and cream. It was tasty and it would be a cute gift… but at that price point I doubt I’d ever get one again.

I cannot speak for the brick and mortar but as far as the online I would really stay away. The customer service is horrible– It took me 2 days to get a person to help me. When i did she tried her best but the owners daughter was completely not interested in customer service and unfortunately she was the first person I spoke to. I wish I would have read the bad reviews on GOOGLE I never would have ordered from them. We ended up paying $ 60 and had to put them in the trash. I have had great success with Georgetown Cupcakes both in customer service and products and will continue to buy from them.

I think part of my enjoyment of Wicked Good Cupcakes is the novelty factor. I have never been to the brick and mortar bakery, but I saw them on Shark Tank and was very intrigued by the idea of cupcakes by mail and in a jar. I decided this Valentine’s Day would be the perfect time to try them, so I ordered two jars.
The website was easy to navigate (on both my phone and computer) and I placed and order in about five minutes for one each of their Peanut Butter Surprise and Sea Salted Caramel. They make it very clear that they can’t guarantee shipping based on problems with weather and what not, but they say they’ll ship when they promise, and they did so on my order. My cupcakes arrived as planned on Thursday and we saved them for Saturday. I did think the shipping was expensive (it was around $ 10 or $ 11), but I guess time is of the essence with food and that’s just how much shipping costs via UPS. They came in a cute little box that held the jars securely and two silver plastic spoons. If you sent these to someone, they’d be completely prepared to begin eating cupcakes immediately. We left them out on the counter as the label said refrigeration was not necessary, and they kept as promised. We ended up trying to scoop out one cupcake from each when we ate them so that we could have the second set the following day and that proved to be a little challenging and messy. In retrospect, next time we’re just going to eat the whole jar in one sitting. It feels a little wrong, but it’s not really a huge amount of cupcake — one can justify the decision.
As for the cupcakes, I think they were of a high quality and I especially liked the icing. It was fairly light and not too sweet but also creamy. The cake itself was a little more dry and spongey than I prefer (I guess I like denser, more moist cake), but it wasn’t disappointing or anything — quite good. And again, cupcakes in the mail. I know I paid for them and all, but it seemed like a real treat when they showed up! I can’t wait to send them to someone as a gift. (Even if that someone just ends up being me!)

This place is really hard to find in the market because it is so small. But I was determined to find it. I wanted to love them so much that I ordered and had them shipped to me. They were good, but I wouldn’t go back and buy another. It was fun to eat a cupcake with a spoon, but I found them very sweet. I’d say try it, it’s a cool idea

So, naturally we HAD to try Wicked Good Cupcakes when we were visiting Boston. We lucked out when were visiting the Quincy Market to stumble upon one of the Wicked Cupcake locations in Boston.
The store front is small. The staff is friendly. The cupcakes are pretty amazing!
We bought some to sample and some as gifts. Since they are sealed in mason jars, they have a unique presentation and a longer shelf life than your average bakery cupcake. Each jar actually holds TWO yummy frosted cupcakes somehow. How they cram them in is beyond me, but they sure are cute.
We tried three flavors… Wicked Good, Sea Salted Caramel and National Security Red Velvet…
Guess what? We enjoyed every single bite…
Bonus. We can order by mail when we get back home. And we will. They are THAT yummy!

Disgusting, found a hair in my red velvet, see pics. When I contacted them and showed them pics they asked me to pay to ship the little jar to me! Unreal! Save your money & your heart and go elsewhere.

I was so excited when I saw these cupcakes! All of the names were adorable and the individuals working at the booth were so friendly and knowledgeable. If you bought there featured cupcake they were giving away movie première tickets. I feasted on Natalie’s 24 Karat Cake which was decadent! Very cute concept and great to bring back with you if traveling.

This may be one of the cutest, edible packages you can send ppl in the mail. It’s cupcakes in a jar, which personally brings me joy as I like anything I can eat out of a jar with a spoon… and in this case, it’s not an undercover habit like eating peanut butter out of the jar haha.
I had the red velvet and salted caramel on account of the multiple Unilocal reviews I saw. The salted caramel was not as salty as My friends would have liked and the red velvet was way too sweet. So? I gave my two cents on the feedback when I was prompted with a survey and they actually responded with an apology about how the ingredients ratio clearly wasn’t what the pics looked like. They sent another batch on the house and the taste much better matched the highlight of the packaging.
If you’re ordering as a gift, definitely order multiple because the variety will be appreciated by our recipients. Also, note that delivery requires someone signing for a package.

I was in Quincy Market and noticed this cupcake shop in the side alley shops of the market. I noticed the cupcakes were in a jar and had a several day shelf life. I chose the Dalmatian which was a chocolate chip cake with cream cheese icing. It was very good! I would not consider it a cupcake and $ 7 is pretty steep. But, it is worth a try. They should have a recycling program to get a $ 1 back so you can return the jar to recycle or something.

My husband and I were wandering through the market and when I saw the cupcake place, I thought that place sounds familiar. Then I saw the cutout of Kevin from Shark Tank and I knew that I indeed know about this place so we stopped by. The young man working at the booth was very professional and friendly. There were lots if people walking in and out, and he did a great job attending to everyone’s needs.
He recommended the Wicked Good cupcake, which consisted of peanut butter and chocolate chips and chocolate ganache. Each jar consists if 2 cupcakes, so my husband and I were able to share although I could have finished the whole jar myself. The cupcake was excellent! I’m notorious for eating the frosting first and then the cake, and sometimes not even finishing the cake. By eating the cupcake with a fork, you were able to experience the cake, frosting, and filling in one delicious amazing bite. I also felt that I was able to enjoy the cupcake experience more out of the glass jar, because everything was contained… no mess, because sometimes when you bite into a normal cupcake, it starts to fall apart so you need to be sitting down or not moving. With the jar, we were able to walk throughout the market and continue looking around. This has definitely inspired me to make my own cupcakes in a jar, but I would like to try with a smaller single serving jar.
