Way overpriced for what you get. Very disappointed. Did not taste bad but was not very flavorful.

Really shocked the ratings are higher then 2 Stars here. My food was so oily and had almost all dark meat in the noodle bowl. It did not look appetizing at all. The flavor was okay, but the fact that the oil kept separating from the broth in the bowl was a huge turn off. Also I went during lunch time and there was one woman working the whole stand. Not good service and the food was not worth it at all. No thanks… I will go else where.

Trying to find an above average Chinese experience walking distance from State St in Boston took me to Yum Yum Noodle. The other ratings have been positive, so I set my expectations high. I chose chicken with noodles in a soup broth, and my colleague had the beef equivalent. He also selected the dumplings. Overall, we both separately characterized the food as «average at best». It was surprisingly bland despite the supposed Szechuan origins. My dish was ordered«extra spicy» and I went back for more chili in an effort to make in at least interesting. The ingredients were OK quality, but there was no measure of «fresh» in either of our dishes. I cannot recommend Yum Yum Noodle. Yum Yum Noodle is in a food court with a variety of other vendors, mostly Asian with a strong American Chinese influence … even the Thai restaurant. I can’t really recommend anything in this food court after taste testing a few of the vendors and looking at all of them.

2.5 Stars It’s a stall in the DTX Corner Mall Food Court, it’s a larger stall with higher than average counters. You can get soups, rice plates, and dumplings. It’s Szechuan fare and they do well with a small menu. The food comes out quickly which is a big selling point if you have a short lunch break. They advertize the Spicy Beef Noodle Soup as the best seller and I concur it is the best item. I also like the Chongqing Pork Noodles, and the bone-in chicken rice plate. * parking: Forget about it Barney. ROTFL. Ok the Common lot is the best option. * The quality and quantity is decent but some of the better Shanghai/Szechuan/Taiwanese places in Chinatown are better value if you have more time. * It is not only the most authentic Chinese in the Food Court it’s the most authentic of any of the Ethnic stalls here, period. * Prices are a bit high again the sit down places/stalls in Chinatown are a better deal. * for the non Boston people, DTX = Downtown Crossing, the intersection of Washington, Winter, and Summer Streets.

I noticed this place after going in to get a drink after working out nearby. I typically didn’t eat much at the Corner Mall as the choices are fairly limited. But Yum Yum didn’t look like the typical chain-type food court place. It reminded me of a little Mom and Pop place you might find in a local neighborhood. The next time I was there, I ordered their main dish, the Beef Noodle Soup. Wow, it was delicious! I’m not sure what authentic Sichuan style soup or noodles tastes like, but this was very good and seemed very authentic. I’ve had soups and noodles in Chinatown many times over the years and none were like this. The beef was so tender and clearly wasn’t the«shaved steak» type of meat. It was chunks of tender beef. I’ve since tried the pork belly with noodles and even the tomato, egg and noodle. I have yet to be disappointed and see myself becoming a regular customer. If you’re in the Downtown Crossing/Macy’s area, poke your head into the Corner Mall and check this place out. Small and unassuming place with good portions and big taste.

Not your usual food-court«Panda Express». This is the real deal, authentic Sichuan-style Chinese cuisine. If you’re craving something with a little heat, and not your usual food-court fare, you can’t do much better than this. Sure, you’re nearby Chinatown — but why go out of your way, when you can have what you want right here? Portion sizes and pricing are very fair — you won’t come away from this meal hungry a half hour later! Did I mention it’s Sichuan? It runs toward the spicy end of the flavor spectrum — and the help does ask if that’s OK, so you can wimp out and ask for a _less_spicy preparation. Don’t let the food-court become a mono-culture of franchise offerings! Give this place a try, the only regret you should have is that you didn’t try it!

What a pleasant surprise! Was walking through the food court to pick up some coffee when this place caught my eye. Their dishes looked really interesting but the one which caught my fancy was pork belly with rice and vegetables! Something didn’t seem right! How could a place like this be offering Sichuan dishes from a food court!?! Fearing it would be some kind of Americanized sweet pork dish I thought I would try my luck anyway and got the dish. Completely blown away! Kudos for bring this kind of food to a food court! Am now on a mission to try out all their dishes!
