I liked the fact Dr Bemis understood my priorities. He agreed w/​the «keep what you have as long as you can» philosophy I subscribe to. Equipment was updated from the last time I went to a different dentist… loved the panoramic x-​ray machine. Wished he had shared the image with me. I took care of a 10 month old Portuguese Water Dog on the day of my appointment, wasn’t a problem to bring my part time therapy dog.

I have been a patient for over 10 years. I feel cared for and know my dental needs are taken care of. Dr Bemis keeps cost of dental work down, something I have needed.

The hygienist is the dentist’s wife. She talks and talks and pries into family life during the cleaning. The focus was on my family and not my teeth. She said she has been cleaning teeth since ’72. My worry was if it was going to be an expert cleaning or one that is glossed over since she’s been doing the same thing for this many years. I noticed the quality of the polishing was completely lacking compared to the typical cleaning I’m used to at other places. Not to compare a child to her, but the quality of the polishing job was the same method like how a 7 year old finishes a tooth brushing job in 10 seconds, rather than cleaning every part of the tooth. When it came to flossing, it was done very poorly; the floss made its way between the teeth, and back out. Each time floss goes between two teeth, it should go between the gums of each tooth on each side; meaning the floss goes down, then up halfway and back down again towards the other tooth and then back out. Her method was down once and back out. I lost 80 bucks out of the deal because I had to go get another polishing job elsewhere. The checkup by the dentist was fine though.
