I have been here twice and the second time was not by choice. A friend really wanted to go here so I gave it another chance. First the food is mediocre. Its breakfast and not a lot you can do to change it. Second the service is beyond rude. Don’t ask for a coffee refill! I asked and got cold coffee as a response. My food also cold. There was also an older woman there that was working who also was rude when I told her about my two experiences there as well. I am also the type to leave over 20% for a tip. I left two pennies and it pained me to do so even though they were ridiculously rude. The place is pretty filthy too. It feels like you should wash your hands before you use the bathroom here too. If you want a delicious breakfast I recommend Couzins on 85th or Azul in Mill Creek.

Its a good as it gets as far a breakfast goes. We came here last weekend for some morning grub, I was seriously impressed. Tiny little hole in the wall, looks exactly like your grandmother’s kitchen. Fairly busy, but attentive service. We had the eggs bene, banana waffles, and a few other things. Everything was DELISH!!! Don’t pass this place up!

Maybe today was a bad day for them, but the whole experience my boyfriend and I had this morning at this place was pretty bad. The waitress was nice but not very attentive. She forgot to give us our menus, we ended up having to ask for them about 5 mins after she sat us at our table then walked away. It wasn’t very busy but tables were left dirty for 45 mins or more. And it seemed to take her forever and day to realize we were done and needed our check. The older woman, who I believe is Denice the owner, seemed a little too comfortable with the regulars, she needs to realize the place is small and I can hear her stories that involve some inappropriate language. And lastly, the food was horrible. Everything was bland with no flavor. My eggs tasted like nothing. The potatoes didn’t even get seasoned with salt. The gravy in my boyfriends biscuits and gravy tasted like nothing but flour. I can live with the bad service but this food was horrendous and unacceptable. Not a good experience at all. This was our first time here and I can already guarantee we will not be going back ever again.

Ok food, bad service. The older lady was just mean; after I drank my cappuccino which was basically the size of a shot I asked her how big the lattes were without referencing my displeasure with the cap, to figure out what my next order was. Her response was«well, you ordered a cappuccino» and when I re-asked the question she said«same size, less foam» as she proceeded to fill my friend’s decaf with caffeinated coffee than had us switch mugs after she already drank from it. Curt and unhelpful. It took them 45 minutes to get two scrambles out and the potatoes were still undercooked! To top it off, there was an eyelash in my eggs… gross. I came here because of the great reviews even though it’s out of my way, so wanted to make sure and post my experience in case others did the same.

The food is very good here. The only complaint I have is that the servers are always very nice, but they only have 1 – 2 at a time and when it gets packed in there it can take you almost 2 hours to have breakfast.

I loved this place back in 2010. Rodrigo(sp?) remembered my name the 2nd time I came in(due to a very talkative friend of mine) and every time since. I live within walking distance and would frequent most weekends and on occasional days off. At least 20 trips that year with parties of 2 – 10 each time. Food was decent, price was little higher than average. One day we noticed we hadn’t seen Rodrigo recently and found that they had divorced. Denise, as many times as we came in, we hardly ever got a smile. Let alone any recognition. After a mixup ordering a «spanish» omelet and receiving a «spinach» omelet we decided locale doesn’t make up for service, price, taste and friendliness.

Somewhere between 3 and 4, really. The food was good — not fabulous, but we’d go back again for sure. The value was decent. Although as some have noted, the specials on the board can be pricey(up to $ 17 for breakfast fare), the regular menu is reasonable. We’d both choose this over Denny’s etc. Why not a solid 4? Food sat for a while before being served, coffee cup was drained for a while before a refill came, and the establishment was NOT busy — two tables besides us. I do think we’ll return, and a couple of visits with better service would definitely cause me to re-evaluate this rating.

I was craving some eggs benedict and didn’t feel like driving to far. Through my Unilocal app, Denice’s Café came up as the closest one. At first we had a hard time locating it… it’s right off exit #22 on I-405, in a small strip mall. Do not get discouraged by the obscure location and simple country décor. Denice is a very sweet lady that chats to her customers and has lots of regulars. My Egg’s Benedict was very good. Perfectly poached soft eggs, generous slices of ham, home style fries that have a perfect brown crust(most likely from cast iron). The hollandaise sauce was a little thinner than I prefer and a bit less lemony, but overall it was still a fantastic dish. My bf got the special — Monte Cristo. Served properly with thick slices of bread, nice egg crust, a bit of powdered sugar and preserves, very tasty. We left satisfied and eager to return again.

This is probably the most average breakfast place I have ever eaten at. I think that if you took 99 random breakfast places across the country, this one would clock in at number 50. I say this neither as a condemnation, nor praise. If you know nowhere else better for breakfast, or you and your family are poor breakfast cooks, you could do worse than going here. I had the two-egg breakfast with chicken fried steak, hashbrowns, and a biscuit. Eggs were over-easy and not as runny as I would like them. The hashbrowns were clearly frozen, but I’m sure most breakfast places freeze their hashbrowns. The chicken fried steak was a reasonable representation of its type, with a white gravy on top that was peppered well and speckled with parsley on top, but short on sausage bits and sausage flavor. The biscuit was the best part of the meal, soft and not too flaky or dry. Portion size was — wait for it – perfectly average, leaving you not too full, but not hungry. There were some interesting specials — featured on the white board was red snapper with eggs, and huevos rancheros was one of the more unusual items on the back panel of the menu. Also, if you get the home fries, they’re red potatoes. Some of you might think these things reason enough to go here. Prices were, I think, somewhat above average — aforementioned breakfast set me back $ 13(not including tax or tip). Service was solid and friendly. Décor was cozy and not cluttered. It’s hard for me to recommend this place when there are many good breakfast places in the Seattle area with similar hours and prices, but better food. My advice is to go to one of those places instead, unless your car is busted and you live in the area. Life is too short to waste both time and money on a merely average breakfast.

My family needed a quick lunch during a volleyball tournament. We were in Kirkland and it was just a few minutes down the road. The décor is a little granny style, but the food was great. Feels like you are having a meal prepared at your grandmother’s home. Food is fresh and tastes homemade. I had the grilled chicken salad, daughter had french toast and hubby had the french dip. We were all satisfied with our meals! Friendly and fast service.

I dropped by the other day because I was feeling too lazy to cook lunch, so I got a turkey club sandwich with a side salad to go. It was a very hearty, tasty sandwich and the salad was made with fresh ingredients and was also a solid choice. If you can get past the grandmotherly décor, you’ll get some really great breakfast/lunch food here! I love having Denice’s Place nearby! :-)

No bloody mary! Husband wanted a Bloody Mary and unfortunately the area is sadly lacking in breakfast places, and this one was one of the few that came up on Unilocal. Food was ok. Nothing wrong with it, but nothing amazing.

Found this place with Unilocal program for the Blackberry. Pros-Nice, small and easy to access. Food was fresh and plentifull. Definitely a place for the locals. Cons– Due to it’s size there is limited seating. Limited menu and cost was a bit high. Two for breakfest was $ 30+ including TIP

This is one of those places that I really wanted to like. The first thing that I noticed when I walked in was that every place setting had a different mug. A mug that could have been found at my parents house. The place felt like someones home. So I really wanted to love this place. But the food prices were a bit high for breakfast. I ordered a special off the board, Chorizo and Eggs, and was disappointed. Perhaps it’s me, but I prefer to have more chorizo than egg… or at least equal amounts… well, it would have been nice to have tasted the chorizo. I asked for salsa to hopefully help the flavoring and instead was served a mild pico. My friend ordered off the special board as well, Pumpkin and Pecan pancakes and seemed pleased with them. Although, I’m not sure if she was just being nice. But still, I can’t give this place a horrible rating because the food was edible, the service was fine and the atmosphere was like-able. However, if it came down to it… I’m not sure I would return unless it was another person’s idea.

I tried this place out a few days ago and so far it is the best breakfast I have been able to get in Bothell, FINALLY! some fresh potatoes, that were cooked right. They have a sign on the wall that says«not fast food but fresh food done as fast as possible.» It was fresh and it wasn’t slow by any means and that was on a Sunday morning. I do get the price issues that some folks have the most pricey thing I saw on the special board was«tri-tip and eggs» for $ 15.99. I think the average meal is going to be around $ 8-$ 12 dollars, but you do get plenty to take with. Nice little café, with fresh flavorful food. Apparently if you tell the staff it is someones birthday you get a candle in your omelet =)

Denice’s Place is somewhere you probably will never go into unless someone tells you about it — so let me tell you. It isn’t because it’s seedy, it’s just off the beaten path. I think the majority of the customers are regulars, and most of them are senior citizens. A lot of war veterans and therefore tons of storytelling going on. I love places like this, they make me feel like I am a kid growing up in a tight knit community all over again. They serve traditional American breakfast and lunch here, I won’t say diner food because it isn’t greasy like that — it is just wholesome and consistently deliciously prepared. It isn’t gourmet, in fact you will get the distinct feeling while you are here that you are just in an extension of Denice’s home kitchen. Yes, Denice works here(every day pretty much) and has been running this place for 10+ years. She’s funny, dishing out saucy quips to some of the regulars and remembering the special diets of others. 10÷4÷2008: I wonder how many times we’ve been here now? Getting usual Monte Cristo and black coffee with orange juice and bacon. Kevin is going to try the corned beef hah because someone sitting next to us has it, and it looks great. This place is always full it seems, so be prepared to stand and wait at the door. There are only really enough seats for about 25 people at a time inside. From the outside you can hardly tell there is a restaurant in this little run down strip mall, but it’s there. If you can’t find the door, ask the guys in the mini mart on the corner and they’ll point you in the right direction. I just wrote all this and realized I hadn’t said much in particular about the food. It is excellent and comes out fast, hot, and always exactly as ordered. The food is a side note only because it is so reliable that you forget to even comment. For me this place is the ultimate eating experience because the food isn’t the focus, it is all about the people.

A great little place — never would have found it if not for Unilocal.Other reviewers are correct… the food IS super fresh, good sized portions — We split the veggie omelet and they let us have 2 sausage/2 bacon as our side of meat(which was about $ 5, but the bacon was PERFECT, so it didn’t it feel like you were being robbed). It also WAS expensive — but if you split a breakfast, you have enough food.(We’d usually get 2 breakfasts and have leftovers for what we paid to split 1 breakfast here). Food was 5 stars, but factoring in the price, we’d have to give it 3 ½.

Denice’s place is the kind of place you would miss if you didn’t know it was there. It is neatly tucked inside a strip mall with the most prominant place being a Mom’s Teriyaki. I and my son and his grilfriend went there for lunch. We were greated and seated by Denice. They have small menus on the table with their daily specials for both breakfast and lunch. They were inconspicoius enough that we didn’t notice them or we might have ordered off of them. We all ended up getting bacon cheeseburgers with a side for 11.49 each. I had a salad with their house vinagarette dressing, my son had the home made soup and girl friend had the french fries. They shared a chocolate shake. I managed to sample the shake and the fries, but not the soup. Everything is home made, so the soup was not out of a concentrate bag from Cash and Carry like many other places serve. The potatoes were real potatoes and they were nice and crunchy without being greasy. The burgers were 1⁄3 pound patties, and the bacon was thick and tasty. I would like to go back and try one of their specials or a breakfast. I would give them 4 stars for the food, good home made food, but not anything real special. And 5 stars for their personality, the place in general. They even have a nook for kids with toys and coloring books, a nice«Grandma’s House» feel. But I have to knock off a star for the price, as they are a bit on the high side for what you get. So I would really like to give them 3 ½ stars, but they end up with 4.
