Hair Express

Rachelle here is the bees knees. I have NEVER in my life gotten such a consistently good lookin’ hair cut. My wavy thick hair usually is hard to tame, but Rachelle has got it handled. She is SUPER sweet and works with you to make sure you are 100% satisfied. Highly recommend visiting her!

A friend of mine recommended this salon and Tara as a stylist. I needed to do a drastic change from red to balayage with brown and blonde and wanted all the red out. I was getting married and wasn’t exactly sure what I wanted but Tara did an amazing job and my hair for my wedding was perfect.

I have been a customer of a specific stylist at this salon for several years now and when she moved, I moved with her. This review is both for the salon and for Tara.
Let’s start with the salon itself since this is my first review for Hair Express. First of all, love the hours… not many places open at 8:00AM and close at 8:00PM (certain days of the week) and since I’ve got a busy schedule (what woman isn’t?:D) the hours are just what I’m looking for in a salon. Location is right off the road on Bothell Way so it’s easy to find and although they share parking with another business next door, there seems to be ample space for both businesses. The interior is pretty standard for a salon and isn’t fancy but its clean and bright every time I come in. The space between each station won’t make you feel like they’re trying to pack in people and it never feels too busy even when all the stations are full. A sign of a great business is when people are greeted like long time friends which has been my observation of all the other stylist and their clients. Their product lines are plentiful and offer a variety of options for both men and women. The reception is first rate and I love that they call a day or so to remind/​confirm up coming appointments. Even when I’ve had to make several appointments ahead of time for myself and my family, they are patient and willing to make sure that it works for our schedule.
Ok, now on to «my stylist» — Tara. All I can say is she’s the one!:-D! I’ve never been disappointed with her work and have recommended her to my close friends looking for a really great stylist. She’s very professional and passionate about her work which is so admirable these days. I have trusted her with my hair when it is long and when I took the plunge and cut it short. I’m back to my long hair again and know that whatever style I might come up with during my visits, she’s ready to give me her opinion which I value. My children have grown up with her and have learned to appreciate her work too now that they’re teens. Like I said before, she’s a keeper and a beauty professional that my family will go to for a long time to come.

I’ve been seeing Sabrina at Hair Express for the last 2 years, and I couldn’t be more happy with the service and quality I get from this salon. My hair is cut exactly the way I want it every single time, and Sabrina is extremely talented and very sweet. I highly recommend this salon!

Hair Express is a salon where you can feel like you are home! The stylists are great and will go over the top to make you happy! Great colors, haircuts and positive attitudes!

Lisa is amazing! I went from very very blonde to a dark brown/​ombré. It was a marathon of an appt (over 4 hours!) and she was a champ. My hair turned out great and I received so many compliments I just went back (about 2 months later) for a touchup and my first cut from her. She communicates with me the entire time to make sure we are on the same page, she will use various products to make sure we aren’t damaging my hair, and she is incredibly patient when I am indecisive and unsure what to do next. Scheduling is a breeze so I almost don’t want to write this! I would recommend the salon and Lisa in particular to anyone.

I am a fan. I have had the same gal do my hair for the past few years and have been pleased every time. It is not cheap… but you get what you pay for. I recommend Mary Beth.

Having been a customer at this salon for over 20 years, I want to voice my overall satisfaction with the stylists and customer service I and my entire family, have received. I have my hair cut on a regular basis and in the past few years, also colored on several occasions. Yes, they do book an ample amount of time to color hair because it is a labor intensive process and often this appointment needs to be made well in advance. I feel the prices are reasonable and in line with full service salons that offer similar services. Moreover, I am called the day before to remind me of my upcoming appointment.
Product scam? My stylist might suggest a product on occasion but this has never been a regular part of my or any of my family members’, experiences. I find hair products, like mousse, to be competitively priced with places such as Fred Meyer which sell the same product so I often buy it at the salon.

I called to make an appointment and they were curt and unaccomodating. Apparently there is no way to get a simple cut with highlights after 5:30 pm since «there isnt enough time» but they are open until 8. Not sure how they have any clients that want color that have day jobs. But I am more irritated by the flat «No» than anything. At least pretend to help me find a solution. Guess they dont need any more business.

They’re a bit expensive but good stylists. I saw them running the PRODUCTS scam on a child, which is not exactly ethical. I have no problem saying NO to that pitch, myself, but it was annoying.

I may be a bit biased because Rachelle has been doing my hair for the last five years, but she is awesome. Super accommodating, and full of suggestions to liven up your do. I never leave unsatisfied, and I’m never afraid to tell her I don’t like something.
I followed her from Regis in Factoria up to Bothell, and it’s worth the drive. Plus it gives me an excuse to go to Alderwood, the best mall around here.
