Paul and Cathy are some of the most respectful, thoughtful shop owners I know. I am happy they are retiring, yet I am sad that Bothell is losing such a great family owned business. My husband and brother-in-law love this store and they are both sad that it is closing. I say, «Have fun; enjoy your grandchildren, and thanks for the memories.» Karen

I just got back from renting a tux here for a wedding and would not them. I’m usually not the person to go onto Unilocal after a poor experience, and usually understand certain situations, people make mistakes and it’s not that big of a deal, but after getting multiple rude experiences I felt I needed to share. I live in AZ and was traveling up to WA for a wedding. After talking to the groom, he told me to reach out to Paul Richards and deliver my measurements, I got them at a local Men’s Warehouse where I lived. But once I delivered my measurements, I was called back and picked on for measurements he felt were wrong. «No one is a 43.5, that doesn’t exist!» But when you ask your customer to get measurements at another location this will happen, you don’t need to yell at the customer for doing what you told them to! Still I thought, no big deal, we plan to go to the store when I get into town, and get anything resized that may need it. Fast forward a month and a half later, the groom, myself, and the other groomsmen reach out to Paul multiple times to get our final fittings for the suits. We are told they will be ready Thursday before we leave, not much time to make alterations, but they tell us that they do not rent any earlier. Thursday comes and the tuxes are not ready or delivered. Strike Two. Luckily, the Father of the Bride brought the suits up the next day. He explains to us that Paul felt extremely bad and would offer a discount for the mistake. As expected, all of the tuxes are not properly sized. But not only on me, but of the other groomsmen who actually were measured at Paul Richards. On Sunday when we try to return the tuxes, the store is closed and I have to leave my tux again with the groom to drop them off. When back in Phoenix I get an angry call that my tux has not been returned, after the women on the line realizes that she did have the tux she explains, very rudely, that it cost them a lot of money to get the suits to us, they looked great(they did not) and there would be no discount. TL;DR Rude Customer Service on Phone, Didn’t deliver Tux on time, assured discount than refused it and took poor measurements. I understand wanting to spend a little extra to go with a local business but I recommend going with any one else UPDATE: Up to 2 stars for this. Now I’m hearing Paul was out of town and didn’t tell the person on the phone that we were in fact getting the discount that was promised for the late and ill fitting garments. I appreciate that he didn’t go back on his word but still think they need to do some better internal communication.

I do most of my shopping here for last minute unique quality gifts. The service is always awesome. Love how they remember your name when you walk in. Definitely a little gem in Bothell.

Love this place! I am always greeted by name even when I have not had a chance to stop by in six months. The owner and his staff always make me feel like I am a new found relative. Personality aside, you will not find the typical clothing like at most regular stores… yes they have the similar Tommy Bahama casual wear, but they also carry beautiful one off clothing that is fashionable and collectible. If you like a style and they dont have it, they will order without hesitation.

Had a wedding to go to on 6⁄29 stopped in the store in dirty construction worker attire and told the super nice lady working that I had a wedding to go to… In no time flat she helped me pick out shoes, socks, shirt and slacks, being on a budget she even found and suggested sale items to save me a few bucks… Love supporting small businesses, and got many compliments on the outfit that she helped me pick out, definitely was out of my comfort zone coming into this store as I normally(always were boots and carhartt clothes) but it all turned out great. Thank you very much –Casey baker

Clothing is absolutely phenomenal! All designer label stuff you would find at Nordstrom but in a small family owned boutique. Excellent service by the staff and did I mention that their clothing is awesome?! Whoever does their buying is world class. The only thing I could even remotely complain about is that I rarely have enough money to buy all of the clothing and shoes I want there! Selection is great, service is great, atmosphere is great, no complaints whatsoever. I’ve told many people about this place, it’s awesome. No longer a Nordstrom shopper! Actually, I do have one qualm, their website is kind of lackluster, I wish you could shop better on there and make purchases. With that being said, actually going into the store and receiving their level of service makes up for it!

Grew up going to Paul’s shop as a kid with my grandpa in the 80’s, have now started shopping there on my own. Paul is a true professional who has perfected his craft. I am extremely critical about my formal wear in particular how it fits. I have tried most of the well known boutiques and big name stores in the Seattle area and thus far Paul is the best, if there is someone that is better please let me know. I will fully admit that the prices are far from being discounted but you will receive a quality product with expert customer service.

I stopped in this little store several years ago. Right away, the woman co-owner began telling me that there was an animal rescue person behind the week previously trying to rescue an animal of some kind(I don’t remember the specific animal type). She thought this was ridiculous and began to tell me that animals don’t have souls — only humans do. She knows that her grandchildren have souls, but just couldn’t understand someone spending their time and energy to save an animal. What?! That did it for me. Never been back… and I do have the money to shop there. Idiocy is just not acceptable.
