UPDATE: Due to the age of my vacuum and the fact that I live with furry pets, the Powermate (a stair attachment) to my vacuum stopped working. The brush bar thingie stopped spinning and as much as I found a You Tube video to walk me through cleaning it, it still only worked intermittently. So off to Vac Master I went.
The owner, Will, once again exceeded my expectations. On initial inspection, he thought maybe the entire unit would have to just be replaced based on what I described I’d already done to it. Estimated cost was about $ 50 and although he carries a lot of parts in his shop, he didn’t have that one, so it would be two weeks. That’s fine, it’s not like I use it every day and I can easily work around vacuuming my stairs using the other attachments.
Fast forward to 7pm (an hour after the shop closed) and I got a call from him telling me he found the problem and was able to fix it! For $ 12. He saved me $ 40 and was getting it back to me in one day. And it works like a charm. Can I tell you how much I love this guy?
I still have my eye on that purple Miele in his shop, but for now, I’ll take the $ 12 repair. I always walk out of his shop feeling such a sense of relief. I wish I could find an auto mechanic who was as honest and helpful.
Thanks again, Will! Save that purple vacuum for me. I’m coming back for it someday!

Sad to say that decent Vac shops are a dying breed. Fortunately, Will isn’t going anywhere — and will either repair your existing vacuum for CHEAP or show you an upgrade.
I get a mega-​pack of filters for my Kirby here all the time, and it’s less than half of what you pay at one of the big-​box stores.

Hometown Vacuum shop. Wil the owner, is fair and reasonable. Great Prices on new American made Vacuums! Time to toss out that cheap Walmart POS, and get a quality vacuum for a great price.
They also are a full service repair shop, repairing all makes and models.
Need a bag or belt, they most likely have it or, can get it in a day or so.
Come and see the shelves full of antique vacuums that surround the shop, overhead.

One good review does not a master make. Having been a house cleaner for 20 years I know vacuum repair folks. I went to Bothell to ask a question and get a new belt. The guy told me his opinion, I told him mine. «Well, you know everything. I can’t help you!» he said as he threw up his hands and turned to walk away. If a repair person is so sensitive of their ‘talent’ and extremely wary of the customers opinions, I suggest they go hide in a cubicle. He basically forced me out the door, vacuum in hand! Girls (and cleaning guys) skip the curmudgeon and head to friendly folks. BEST is Capitol Hill’s, «CENTRAL VACUUM SERVICE». The professionals there are interested in your opinion and want your service and friendship. They are secure in their knowledge. You feel BETTER when you leave! Second best, the family at ‘CITY VACUUM’ on 20 001 Aurora is not far from Bothell, and worth the drive. Again they are friendly, want you in their community and do not look askance when you also ‘know vacuums’.

My wife traveled to a vacuum shop in Shoreline to acquire a roller for our Dirt Devil.
She ended up with the wrong roller. So, I ended up with the task.
I live in Kenmore and Vac Master’s downtown Bothell location made it ideal. When I phoned and spoke with the proprietor he assured me he had 2 types that might work and said to come on in.
It turns out they did not have the right one in stock. The store owner offered to have the correct one by tomorrow afternoon and offered to keep and clean my vacuum in the interim.
Sure enough he cleaned and emptied the vacuum.
My part had arrived next day he installed it and called me.
I missed his call and wasn’t able to get back to him until almost closing time.
He agreed to stay open to allow me to pick up my vacuum.
I have not seen service like that in some time.
Not to mention his pricing was better than the Shoreline shop.
I would highly recommend the sales and service of this shop to anyone with a vacuum need.
