This is the Spot in Boulder to see local art! I have not been anywhere in Boulder like this. Its a refreshing addition to the Boulder«Scene». Although the T shirt selection was small, It didn’t lack in variety. Every T seemed unique and at $ 30 including tax they are well priced. It seems so often these days that High quality art Ts are priced in the 45 – 60 range, This is definitely not your average T shop. As I said before this also seems to be the spot to find local art. Atleast local art of the non cow, horse, cowboy and barn variety.(nothing against that. Its just not my thing) The clerks turned out to be some of the artists and were very helpful. They seemed to know each artist personally and were very educated in there processes and background. In all I would say that Atmosphere is worth the visit even if your not in the market for art or a T. It is exactly what it sounds like«Atmosphere» and a good one at that.

A clerk told us «our shirts are VERY limited and in demand». Yet the same clerk failed to tell us that additional sizes of the design we liked were hanging in the window. For further infuriation, they do not accept credit cards. The clerk seemed insulted that we had the gall to attempt such a modern form of payment in their store. «Pftt…there’s an ATM down the street». But the store looks like a trendy gallery and has a DJ turntable… although the staff walked over to the turntables and proceeded to cue up an iPod playlist. As a gallery, I’m sure it’s fine; but as a store, it’s annoying. May look nice, but I wouldn’t want to shop here. So I guess this shop is appropriately named, since it’s really shooting for«atmosphere» and not«business». Want a funky/artsy t-shirt– you’re probably better off looking for something online. Want to spend almost 30 bucks on a t-shirt and get the ’”experience” of talking to a snobby clerk and pretending you’re at an art show; then step into Atmosphere, bunky.
