I have never in my life felt more uncomfortable in a restaurant. I was stared at the entire time I was inside along with the waiters looking at me then whispering to each other. Along with the waiter trying to convert the man at the other tables religion, this was one of these worst experiences of my life. I would never go back and strongly recommend that you don’t either. These are not good people and they try to take advantage of intoxicated people to join their«commune» and«non religion»

Fresh ingredients, excellent sandwiches & friendly servers in what can only be described as an eclectic, part hobbit hole, part treehouse setting. If Frodo were looking for a solid cup of coffee & an organic sandwich post bong rip, then The Yellow Deli wouldn’t disappoint.

I’m not sure how I’ve not reviewed this place yet. The food here is great. It’s like going home for a home cooked meal from your mom. Nothing too over the top but delicious none the less. The tea is homemade and they treat you like a family member every time you go in. I love that they are open 24 hours which makes it a great place for all night study sessions. the décor is unique and it’s always clean. The smoothies are also amazing.

Amazing food amazing service at 1am. This kind of hospitality is non existent in many other states especially at this hour.

The Yellow Deli is an incredibly interesting establishment. It has a notably unique atmosphere. The employees are all part of a belief system, which strongly influenced their demeanor. They are polite, but seem disconnected from cultural norms. All in all, if you go here you will notice a hippie, environmental, free-spirit ambiance. If you are comfortable with that, the food is pretty good. Had the reuben, and loved the sauerkraut. I definitely enjoy the food here, but the atmosphere can sometimes make me feel uncomfortable(I have nothing against them though!).

When you walk into The Yellow Deli, it’s like walking into Middle-earth. It has a gorgeous interior atmosphere: rustic wood theme, gentle and meditative music, little alcoves to sit in, hand-painted art on the walls. The people who work there are all incredibly chill and friendly. Moreover, the food is phenomenal. So far I’ve tried two of their vegetarian soups(white bean & kale, and tomato basil), and OHMYGOD. Delicious. Best soup I’ve ever freaking had. Also tried their homemade granola in milk, and that was incredible as well — beautifully presented, with fresh, seasonal fruits arranged prettily around the rim of the bowl. I love to go here to work on my laptop, or to chat with a friend over lunch. You can stay for hours and not feel awkward about it; that’s how super cool these people are. Anytime someone visits me in Boulder, I will take them to The Yellow Deli.

This place really is passionate about the quality of their food. The people here are super friendly and make you feel like part of their family. Everything is pretty much home made and delicious. I love how unique and old school the place is designed. I will definitely be coming here more often

Text a friend you are going and your expected return time because this place feels like it might have a trap door to a scary basement. The Reuben is delicious. Open late. If you dare.

Food was good. Service not so much. I was forth table in the joint, solo, and it took 15 minutes for first wait staff pass, and over 30 for my sandwich(which was good…). Nice enough place, just not quick. I also still prefer the Ruben at Lindsie’s Deli down the street…

I’d probably give Yellow Deli 3 stars for being comfy and good food but I’m docking them a star for lackluster service today. It’s a cute, comfortable place with a hippy vibe. The menu is limited — sandwiches, salads, some desserts. That’s fine because we wanted a quick, light lunch. The service was not too good. Our waitress didn’t ask us for our choices for optional items on the menu, e.g. whether we wanted chips or veggies with a sandwich, salad dressing. I could understand them not asking If there was a default choice on the menu but that wasn’t the case. We waited a long time for a turkey sandwich and a chef salad, probably 15 minutes, and the restaurant wasn’t particularly crowded. The waitress never came to refill drinks or give a food update. Another person, possibly the manager, came by and refilled our teas. The food was fine. Just wish the service was better.

If you’re seeking out deli with amazing food and an friendly atmosphere reminiscent of a hobbit hole, this is the spot for you(Also great late night spot for any various restaurant/café needs, open 24⁄7 most days a week). Located on Pearl Street’s west end, the yellow deli is somewhat hidden between a pet boutique and the Wet End Tavern, with only a small sign hanging above to indicate its’s place — It took me far too long to step inside this establishment. The restaurant boasts a near %100 level of in house preparation, where everything from the wrapped matte bars(delicious energy bars consisting of matte? nuts, and peanut butter, among other things) to the various breads are cooked, baked, and created in their kitchen Sandwich-wise: I would suggest the Deli-Rose, a delicious roast beef concoction accompanied by their secret sauce(ketchup based), or the Spring chicken. They’re also known for their rueben which also happens to be very good — only wish it was bigger. If anything else stands out, it’s their pecan salad, but more importantly the bread that is served on the side. A rich, buttery, flavorful piece of bread, of which I have no clues as to what it’s called, comes default with any salad order, and when dipped in the salad’s vinegary sauce, is outstanding. Service can be slow and non-responsive at times, but it’s hard to feel rushed in the peaceful and warm atmosphere, especially after said dishes.

This place fell off. Three to four years ago it was outstanding. There was a guy and his wife who used to work here and run it. Once he left to California this place started to suck. The only thing that’s good here now are drinks. The people that work here think that there better then you, besides like two to three guys in the back making food and There’s a real loser who works the phone and cash register that’s a younger guy that’s the rudest person I’ve ever meet. I hope this place leaves boulder. The cult(12 tribes) that they are in believes in hard punishments on children, like extreme abuse. The Yellow deli can rot in hell.

We returned to the Yellow Deli, having had a good experience when we were in Boulder a year ago. Unfortunately, the food was not as good. One of us had a sandwich, which was good, but two of us ordered salads which were disappointing. I ordered a Cobb salad with turkey. The salad was primarily greens with 3 slices of pre-packaged turkey sandwich meat on top. For the price, the size of the salad was small. The other salad was equally disappointing. We won’t be in a hurry to come back

I’m giving this 3 stars because when I first started coming here a couple years ago it was outstanding and lately it’s been really lacking. To start on the positive note, the Reuben is hands down my favorite Reuben I’ve ever had. No thousand island and has classic yellow mustard on it. Their breads are absolutely incredible and I still can’t figure out how everything at this place is so flavorful. Soups, salads, sandwiches, you name it, it’s all so rich and full of that comfort food goodness that you can’t put it down. Seriously. Now comes to the negative portion. The last 3 times I’ve come here the service has gotten progressively worse. They are always friendly but wait times are now about a half hour too long to go there for lunch during work, even when no ones there. The servers have gotten very weird. I know they’re all part of this weird cult thing and that never bothered me. To each his own you know? But recently they have become a little too chatty Kathy and will spend so much time talking to us that they forget our order. They have proven completely incapable of splitting a check. On one occasion, we actually had to wait on our check because the girl who was our waitress was hitting on my friend! She actually sat down at the table when I was in the bathroom and took my spot so that she could talk to him and when I got back I was just standing there while she was sitting in my seat! Honestly though, their food is actually worth it. It’s incredible and I still recommend this place to people regardless.

One of the worst meals I’ve had in a while. A sandwich I could have made better at home and a cup of thin, bland soup. I thought the staff were very friendly, but ridiculously slow, inattentive and inattentive– don’t expect your water to be filled or your check to come in a reasonable time, but they are very nice. Come to find out this isn’t a restaurant with professional staff, but rather a front for a cult trying to meet new potential converts– not making this up! This is a terrible«restaurant» and a sneaky scam. Unbelievable!

This is one of my very favorite lunch spots in boulder. I highly recommend the deli rose and a hibiscus iced tea. The service is friendly, the menu is simple but VERY fresh and flavorful, and fantastic ambiance. Feels like a hobbit house mixed with Little House on the Prarie, but with WiFi.

To my surprise, I still haven’t put a review up for this place, considering I eat here all the time. To preface by actual review, I will start with one statement: I don’t like hippies. Patchouli was invented by satan. Jam bands are terrible. A lot of hippie food is terrible, and is really just compost disguised as food.(Funny, considering I work in Boulder, and did live here briefly in the 90’s/00’s) So, knowing that, I was a little terrified the first time I stepped foot inside the Yellow Deli. The decorations, the music, the crowd, the menu. I was overwhelmed. My inner hillbilly was telling me to run, but I continued on. That attitude last for about ten minutes. Until I tried the chilli and reuben sammich. Just perfection. I’m always satisfied with my meal there. I get the same thing every time. Everyone there is nice, and I’ve gotten to know them a little. So, I love this place. And it’s on the same block as my work, so it’s convenient.

So glad I made the visit here. After some Unilocaling decided to stop by after a run/hike through the flats and working up an appetite. Wanted something fresh and wholesome. Saw great reviews for the yellow deli and FRESH squeezed juice. After days of traveling and horrible food choices, I needed something fresh. When I went in I wasn’t sure if I was to seat myself or wait. Was awkward just standing there so I went up to the to-go counter and got service there and was seated after that. This place reminds me of a hidden cottage underground that only local regs are suppose to know about.(My FAV type of places) Dim, all wood paneling with artistic murals and fixtures on the walls. Offers table/booth seating with small bar seating as well. The environment was cozy and the staff was extremely friendly. After explaining I had never been before they offered many suggestions. I decided on their cranberry cashew salad with their«everything» juice. The moment the juice hit the taste buds I could hear my body saying«thank you». Wasn’t great flavor but a healthy choice. The salad was delicious. The house dressing was fantastic, the cut cubes of cheese in the salad make it perfect combo with the house dressing. Salad came with the house-made warm, soft and sweet pumpernickel bread. SO good. The owner/manager came by to introduce himself and shake my hand, which was an awesome touch. Ensured I was enjoying the meal and initiated conversation. Really appreciate the personal touch. All around great experience! Atmosphere is fun yet casual and relaxing, staff is friendly and meals are yummy!

Hidden gem of Boulder! Quaint, authentic, memorable, delicious — everything I’m looking for in a special place to enjoy with friends and for out of town guests. The food is always extremely fresh(the bread and bakery items are made in-house) & it’s really refreshing to meet people that are truly passionate about the food they are making. Every time I go I find something new I am absolutely wild for. My favorite sandwich at the moment is the Deli Rose: warm corned beef(I didn’t even know I liked corned beef), hot pepper jack cheese, provolone, onions, tomato, mayo, mustard, special sauce on an onion roll. I actually crave this for days after I eat there it is just so incredible. The soups are also quite good and the artisan bread it is served with is hearty and unforgettable. The full body buzz mate tea is also a must have. My favorite beverages are the peach mate, and green chai latte. The mate is also sold at the restaurant. Definitely don’t forget to pick up some banana bread(deluxe banana bread is not only heated up for you but served with slices of fresh fruit on top). Be sure to check the hours before you head over.
