Bova’s is every college student’s staple. I can’t break away from my endless cycle of lamb gyro with hummus + everything else on it! Haven’t tried the custard yet, but will do soon.

It’s basically a mini-mart with a fryer in the back. Has candy, drinks, chips, etc. I wasn’t very impressed with the fried food. The curly fries were very plain. The mozzarella sticks tasted like farmrich. Still have to try their gyros and hamburgers. Their frozen custard is pretty good though. I just got vanilla from the frozen section. It reminds me a lot of Haagen Daz.

Got the gyro after a late night out. Happened to be on the hill on my way out of town and in the moment it hit the spot, however this is not a place I would go out of my way for.

A decent gyros for under $ 6 is great to me. They have some strange menu items, such as the Brandon which appears to be a wrap filled with lovely fried goodies. Not for me, but cool. They’re open until about 4 am so it’s great for late night but you’ll normally be waiting to order alongside a heap of piss-drunk college students who can barely spit out their order of fried, heart-attack inducing atrocities. But the gyros is damn good and so is the tzitziki sauce that comes on it. Plus they have some bare-essential groceries and snacks so it’s a good pit-stop on my way home from work on a late night. Make sure to tip nice because I don’t know how these cooks and employees keep sane with the wave of drunk college kids that stumble through every night.

I only work in Boulder, so I dont do much there. But what I always do, is go eat on the hill afterwards. And if I dont bee line it for Tra-Lings, then this is where I head. My friend John thinks the Gyro is fantastic, and I am a fan of the Cheeseburger and Curly fries, But regardless of what you get, its always tastier then it appears. I was kinda worried the first time I went in, cause as you can tell its in this rickity looking convienence store. But it is fantastic. I would give them 5 stars but I have yet to try more then those 2 items. If those 2 are any indication, I may be adding that 5th star at some point soon.

Bacon cheeseburger with everything on it, side order of tater tots. these guys are the best. although we don’t know each other’s names, i always get a friendly«sup, big man?» and a few minutes of chat while they grill it up. I always get that combo listed above, and it hasn’t failed me yet. i’m sure the rest of the menu is top notch, but i cant break away from that burger and tots. it brings me back to the train station deli in my hometown, Bernardsville, NJ. if you know what im talking bout, and even if you don’t, you owe yourself a burger from Bova’s.

It’s located nearby the University of Co, Boulder. Appears like a hole in the wall place, but their product is legit. They’re specialty item appears to be Frozen Custard. Some items were indeed Frozen custard, and they offer ice cream as well. But, they also mix them together, and have ice cream sandwiches, etc. I thought the taste of my Frozen Custard to be good, sweet, rich and thick. It’s it slightly different than just ice cream. Hope to try their other items.

If you’ve never had Bova’s frozen custard, you’ve never lived. Go there early, often, and enjoy it during the summer as it’s closed during the winters. Make sure to stop in in october for the pumpkin pie custard.

If I ever have a snack craving, I come here. Plus, the grill in the back is awesome. Toasted bagel, scrambled eggs & cheese to go? Absolutely awesome and definitely delicious. The custard between the cookies is fantastic. Great for a good bite if you’re just walking by or on the go.

On warm nights a few years ago I used to get on bikes with my roommates and we would bike up a small hill to get here. We’d each order insanely large, unfinishable(for me) concoctions, which would melt in our mouths and cool us down from the bike ride. It got to where, on warm nights, Bova’s was ALL we wanted, and it was all that would do. Bova’s has gone downhill since then — their prices have gone significantly up, and their custard quality has gone significantly down. They only offer three flavors a day — chocolate, vanilla, and whatever the flavor of the day is — and that flavor is often kind of, well, boring. And, I don’t know, it’s just not as creamy and flavorful as it used to be. Now it’s sweeter, and on hot nights it just coats the inside of my mouth with that sugar slick that’s unappealing for a bike ride home. It’s still all right(and the only frozen custard in town, I believe). Just, for me, not worth the summer bike ride. I get frozen yogurt from CeFiore now.

Um… Bova’s custard sandwiched between two homemade cookies is heaven! These suckers are huge and I would recommend sharing, but usually I just ended up going for the blowout all on my own as I walked down Broadway headed home. In the summer Bova’s opens up a small little stand next to Santiago’s where you can get custard sundaes… yep! I used to go here late night style… pick up some beers and a pint or two or three(cuz you used to get it free) and head home to sit out on my lawn with my bf and dog. It was definitely an easy life I was living. Typical Boulder in the summer.

3 words: The Cookie Monster. Delicious Bova’s custard mixed with mint girl scout cookies, oreo’s, and chocolate chip cookies. It’s a magically monstrous combo of cookies and frozen custard. It’s almost the springtime, so get out there and do it. Don’t think about the calories, just go with it. I think this is my favorite ice cream spot in town. It’s no frills and doesn’t have a huge selection like Glacier, but the cookie monster just has my number! Added points for having an employee named Tova. Tova at Bova’s… Love it!

Bova’s Pantry is a strange phenomenon indeed: it is a sort of convenience type store located in a prime location on the Hill, full of what you get in a convenience type stores. But this does not concern me. Anyone that knows about the hill will know immediately that what is more important is that Bova’s offers a booth at the back near Cosmo’s and Santiago’s(which has the unfortunate fate of being right next to Cosmo’s. ‘Do I want to try this small ass Mexican restaurant which looks sketchy or do I want to go for the true blue?’ Well, 100% Cosmos, hence I’ve never eaten there yet. But I digress.) that sells Bova frozen custard. Now custard is a strange sort of beast: it’s like ice cream except with a million more eggs involved, which makes it thicker, creamier, and insane for the body. The few times I’ve forced myself to eat the way too sweet, way too fatty concoction that was Bova’s custard, I thought my heart would revolt — but it was damn tasty — so if this thing is your bag, then Bova’s is for you. Personally, I felt like I needed to run a marathon to get the custard out of my system, but hey… whatev’
