I noticed the earrings in the front door as we were walking by. The owner/salesperson didn’t greet us but tuned into his computer. There was ethnic small jewelry pieces, latin souvenir instruments(buy for play-play), Peruvian sweater in the back. I bought about $ 30 worth of items. The guy didn’t seem like he was going to offer to wrap my purchase but I mentioned that I was catching a flight later that day. Unfortunately, I did end up with a set of earrings that looked the same but different sizes. I didn’t realize it until I got back home. Luckily, I had purchased two other pairs that matched.

Among the upscale shops with attractive window displays that line the Pearl Street mall, this shop stands out for being neither upscale nor particularly pleasing; it is a purveyor of Peruvian(and possibly other) imports. Its walls are filled, floor to ceiling, with sweaters and other knit goods, as well as jewelry, not arranged terribly appealingly In lieu of a checkout counter, there is a small table with a laptop and a credit card machine. It reminds me more of a craft show booth than a boutique(hint: the owner seems to be flexible on prices). Today, wandering by just after 5pm, I noticed a rack of contemporary-styled Alpaca sweaters outside that were on sale. I took one inside to try it on. Another woman, shorter and wider than I am, was also trying one on. Amazingly, this«one size fits all» sweater fit both of us. For just $ 35 I walked away with a warm, stylish and flattering garment.
