Small classes with experienced teachers. It is almost like having a private session. Their attention to the individual is exquisite.

Can’t say enough good things about Boulder Bodyworks. I’ve been going to them for years and have happily recommended them to friends who have also had great experiences. The Pilates Studio has exceptionally high quality staff for both rehabilitation and exercise — they really know the human body, Pilates, and how to teach people of all different abilities and limitations. The osteopaths are phenomenal as well. Everyone is super friendly, extremely knowledgeable, talented and compassionate. Prices are steep, but well worth it.

I can’t rave about this place enough. Boulder Bodyworks is the real deal, with quality instructors, a diverse range of classes, and a beautiful new space. The Pilates reformer and equipment classes are all«small group» or smaller(you can also take private or duo sessions), so you’re never in class with more than 5 people. More than just making you«feel the burn», they really take the time to explain the positions, and ensure that you are working through the exercises with proper technique. Many of the teachers not only have extensive experience in Pilates, but also have backgrounds in other movement modalities(such as ballet, the Franklin Method, etc). This all contributes to a holistic understanding of how people should move. The online scheduling system is easy to use, and the center is located adjacent to the Skip bus’s Yarmouth stop. Thank you, Boulder Bodyworks!

A little addition on 5÷17÷12: I am copying my review for David Schwartz here on the Boulder Bodyworks page so people can find it here, too. I’ve been seeing him for almost 2 years now, and it’s still the best healing experience I could ask for. I am so, so grateful to have found this practitioner. He has a long wait list… and he’s worth it. Previous review from Aug 2010: W.O.W. I’ve been around the block with doctors, chiros, naturopaths, acupuncturists, endocrinologists, shamans, and weirdos. I have felt that I am on some epic Zelda-like quest to find my One True Healer, someone who I deeply trust to develop a long-term relationship with my body, which happens to be quite precious to me. I have looked low and high, been across the country and even to another continent, and spent [literally] thousands of dollars looking for a doctor-healer-magician(you know what I mean) who can both address my acute health concerns and also my larger, get-to-the-root-of-the-problem-stop-giving-me-a-%& *$ing-band-aid-pallative-beotch questions about optimum health and the conditions for thriving.(I hope you know what I mean there.) Well, ladies and gentlemen, halle-freaking-lujah, I think I found him! And he’s an osteopath. A GOODONE. This was only my first time seeing him, but sometimes, when you know, you just know.(if I go back a 2nd time and it turns out he suddenly sucks, I’ll do my Unilocalish duty and let you know. But I doubt it). David did a thorough intake… has incredible presence and compassion… was subtle when he needed to be and overt when he needed to be… and by the way, HASTHEHANDSOFGOD. My friend who recommended him to me said that to me, ad I was all like, «Well, we’ll just see about that.» Oh, we saw. THELIGHT. Veni, vidi, vici! As soon as he touched me I felt safe, completely trusted him, and was immediately VERY grateful. He also taught me a LOT about my body. I was absolutely inspired by how much he knows about the human body, and how much he could tell about mine with a simple touch. He moved my sacrum back into place, and I’ve been singing in my head all day: «The tail bone’s connected to the… head bone!» I’ve never felt so much of my spine so alive in my life! I’m so excited to go back. Be forewarned – he has a several-month wait list. However, I called this morning and was able to get in today on a cancellation(which I now consider something of an act of God), so anything is possible… I don’t give such praise lightly… but he is that good that I had to take time out of my muy busy day to sing it from the Unilocal-tops. Which is *also* I something I don’t do lightly.

I am specifically a fan of Camsie. She is an EXCELLENT teacher with vast bodily awareness and knowledge. My husband first encountered her to heal from an old shoulder injury(hockey). He liked her so much I went to her for post-partum help and have not been disapointed. The space is nice and everyone is friendly as well. Only downside, which can also be a pro is the 24 hour cancellation policy. If you have kids, et al it can be hard to commit/be charged for last minute cancellation but I also see the pro in having committed participants…
