We bought a mattress here in 2012, about 3.5 yrs. ago. We were told the mattress would last ‘a lifetime’. It was shipped promptly, but it is VERYHEAVY, bulky & has NOHANDLES to make life easier. We thought it was great for about a year & then we noticed my husband’s side looked sunked in or trenched. He is average height & about 180 lbs. After year 2, it trenched so much that the middle of the bed was higher than my side. We couldn’t believe this was happening & then it just got worse.(We did turn the bed several times.) We just bought a top of the line BeautyRest & paid $ 400 less than this bed. Do some research & read all the Unilocal reviews! NOTE: I received the nice note from Rhonda(see below). I admit, we never contacted Boulder Comforts when we realized our mattress was sagging/trenching. I looked in our file & we had no written contract or warranty. I think that is why we never contacted Boulder Comforts. We figured, we bought it & it was our problem. We should have contacted you to see if you could remedy the situation. If you don’t do it already, I’d suggest that you give each customer a written warranty & discuss the length of the warranty & how much it covers. I appreciate the note from Rhonda & thank you for it.

We bought a Stearns and Foster about ten years ago. For that length of time we constantly threatened to replace it. We finally did. The process of finding a new bed is just filled with unknowns and a lot of doubt about what is being sold. After trying mattresses and seeing what we liked we thought we would go with a foam and most likely a Tempurpedic. My sister and her husband had one they raved about. So naturally we thought we would follow their lead. Except two things popped up. On some cold nights my sister and surprisingly her husband talked about being hot. My wife and I both sleep hot. The other, the Internet talked about outgassing. For my wife outgassing would be a deal breaker. The Internet suggested a good alternative foam was latex. Looking for a vendor of latex mattress I asked the major firms in Boulder to see if they carried latex mattresses. None did but the Mattress Firm suggested I go check out Boulder Comfort. The sales process was not only pleasant but also informative without any pressure. The surprise to me was how flexible the company was about working with me. If within the first 60 days we wanted to firm up or soften the bed they would do it by replacing the topper. More importantly if my wife wanted a firmer mattress than I did we could have firmer on her side and softer on my side. No other option seemed to be available to do that short of a Sleep Number Bed {because of complexity we chose not to even consider Sleep Number Bed}. If we wanted a memory foam there was an option of a memory foam topper. We ended up choosing a medium firm bottom layer and a medium layer top against a strong recommendation from the salesmen. Since we are side sleepers we would be more comfortable with a soft topper. Although I liked the bed it did seem a little on the firm side. Yesterday I called the store up and asked if I could exchange the medium toper for a softer. The quick answer was sure. I unzipped the mattress cover, took out the topper in less than a minute. It took longer to take the sheets of the bed. I took the topper to the store and left in about five minutes. Putting it on the mattress took a little longer just to line up the topper with the bottom half and just slowly closing the zipper making sure things stayed lined up. That took maybe 15 minutes. The bottom line is I should have listened to the salesman as last night was the most comfortable sleep at home in more than ten years and no outgassing from the mattress.

I posted a review for this company under Foam Source which is the other name they operate under. Here is the review repeated. I bought a natural latex bed from Foam Source(aka Boulder Comforts) back in Feb 2009. I waited to give this review to provide a fair assessment. Let me begin by saying that my opinion is solely related to my experience with Foam Source and has nothing to do with what I think of natural latex foam mattress(I still think it’s a great alternative compared to traditional box spring and tempurpedic.(i had owned a Stern and Foster previously) I did tons of research before buying the mattress. Aside from the $$, I knew if I had problems with it given the bulkiness and weight it wasn’t going to be easy to deal with. Anyways, the positive first. The delivery from Foam Source was great. I ordered it online and it arrived as promised. All tightly bundled up in an ~70lb FEDEX box. I got a Queen size mattress so it was quite heavy and definitely required more than a person to unwrap and lay out. When I received the mattress, I noticed that the quality of the foam wasn’t as nice as the sample they had sent me. It had discoloration, tears and some noticeable patching. I called the company and inquired because I worried that these imperfections would affect my warranty. After having me take pictures and asking a brunch of questions, the company just ended up saying that it’s natural and place the blame on their suppliers(which as a customer I don’t think I should be concern with their production problems). Even though they had a 30 days return guaranteed, at no point did they offer to do an exchange or return. I should have been suspicious of their lack of responsiveness and not put up with their many excuses(eg. they said«if the mattress had been sealed, you wouldn’t have been able to see these imperfections»). Anyways, the net of which was that I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and kept the mattress assuming the best. I now regret not returning it. At the time, I couldn’t figure out how to return a 70lb mattress(since the company offered no solution on how I would get the mattress back in the box for shipment or the exorbitant shipping cost). I have now had the mattress for a little over a year and the mattress poor quality has already shown. The firmness has definitely changed. It is not my imagination. Stripping the covers, one side of the mattress is noticeably higher than the other(I can even capture it with my camera). Furthermore, there is a noticeable dip in the middle of the mattress as oppose to the top and bottom of the mattress. I bought these problems to the Company’s attention. Just like the first time, they had me take pictures and answer a bunch of question but offer absolutely no resolution. I feel like they are giving me a run around. If i continue with any more moving of the mattress to take this picture or get that measurement, the only thing that will result is a broken back. For example the latest exercise they had me do is to put the mattress on the floor and take more pictures to show them the dip. Or they asked me such questions as «is the indention more than an 1inch?» Are they kidding me? Their line of questions do not sound like they are looking to take responsibility for their product quality. I provide these examples and detail because I hope this will allow other Unilocalers to judge for themselves whether they want to give business to Foam Source. I know I regret my purchase deeply. Hopefully someone can benefit from my bad experience. I strongly recommend going with a reputable vendor who is very clear on their warranty and how they handle problems should it arise. Buyers beware

Do you know what PBDE’s are? So why should you, or your child sleep on this toxic mess? Simple answer, to keep your highly flammable foam mattress from igniting like a bucket of the oil it was made out of. It comes with a serious drawback, your health. I dont think anyone should be sleeping on anything that has an Material Data Safety Sheet a few pages long featuring chemicals banned in EU. Go natural latex. Here is a link to PBDE, I hope you read it: Btw my wife is a Biochemist.
